The Sports Deli Podcast - Where Everyone Deserves a Seat at the Table; An Anti-Racist, Equality Pod
Randy Holcomb from Chicago made it to the highest level and incredibly, played his first and last game of his NBA career for his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls. His parents we're both police officers, and you don't want to miss this incredible discussion about them, especially his dad. Randy has some fascinating opinions on Ben Simmons, Kyrie Irving, and a number of other things from mental health to how ridiculous it is that San Diego State hasn't retired Michael Cage's jersey (and I 100% agree) yet they want to retire Kawhi Leonard's jersey first. He let Coach Fisher, former SDSU Coach know as much as well even though he loves Coach Fish. We discuss social injustice, his upbringing, and a number of other incredible topics and you don't want to miss our very famous rapid fire segment of the podcast, "this or that" where Randy reveals his favorite food that makes him dance at a family picnic, who he would like to play one on one against, and which five people he would like to have at his dinner table if he could choose any five people of all time. This episode covers: - NBA regular season - November 25 through December 9, 1984 - Insightful early-season minutiae, all but lost to the annals of basketball history In this episode, we discuss numerous happenings from the next 15-day block of the 1984-85 NBA season. The Chicago Bulls played seven games in this span - five wins and two losses - continuing their run of hot and cold streaks. We talk about an incident at a Bulls training session, involving David Greenwood and Sidney Green; each fighting - literally and figuratively - for on-court minutes. We also unveil a new 'NBA Trivia' feature. How strong is your basketball knowledge?! We chat about the NBA's best-performing players, milestones reached and much more. Further, you'll learn about a bizarre, in-game promotion that received a very 'chili' reaction.
