Born and raised in Las Cruces, NM. His first memory of acting was in the first grade when he had to carry a brown tempera painted cardboard cutout of a donkey down a church aisle for a Christmas show. He's been hooked since. Santino received a B.A. in Theatre Arts from New Mexico State University and was the recipient of the Hershel Zohn Theatre Award for Overall Excellence. Upon graduation, he packed up his suitcase, Cub's cap and parka and moved to Chicago, IL. While living in the windy city, he performed at various venues such as Donny's Skybox-The Second City, Comedy Sports and The Chicago Center for the Performing Arts. If you are around Santino, he will always put a smile on your face. It's been a privilege to have him on the mats at Legacy and even bigger to see him work with our kids at Lagacy Kids at Legacy Kids. Enjoy! Guys… I'm so excited to introduce you to my friend Joe Van Haecke. For over 20 years, Joe has studied, performed, and coached improv. Now… in addition to performing improv… he's bringing what he calls the tenets of the “Yes/And” life to business people, educators, leaders… and heck… even lawyers! His training company helps people to be better communicators… better collaborators… and stronger leaders… all through the power and simplicity of improv strategies. And a recent experience over coffee with Joe, made me say… we've got to talk about this on DREAM THINK DO! So, let's get to this!!! Okay… let's get YOUR thoughts. What do you think? Does the thought of IMPROV freak you out? Or… do you find yourself wanting to hop on a stage and “Yes/And” with the best of ‘em light you up? I'll be honest… I can totally see the power of these strategies… but the idea of performing LIVE scares the snots out of me. (But that probably means I need to do it sometime soon… right?) How about it? What's something that resonated with you? More importantly… where's an area where you're going to try to inject some IMPROV technics into your daily life? Ben Stein and co-host Judah Friedman are joined by Gary Collins of TheSimpleLifeNow.com and Myles Wakeham to discuss, how in a little over a year, the vacuum of leadership that we have created in the world. Is there a person in their right mind, that believes that America is better off and the world is better off. Plus a lot of discourse which always adds to the fun. Plus why its imperative we build up our infrastructure and that starts with drilling and defense.

Kathy is a graduate of Stanford University and UC Berkeley with an MBA and a Masters of Arts. She is currently working on her third book and still barely makes her teen kids laugh. The challenges that organizations have today stems from fear and uncertainty and this keeps people from moving forward because they get stuck in old patterns that have to be unlearned. Leaders thought that they had to have all the answers but with a shift of mindset towards improvisational thinking, we reframe leadership and suddenly realize that leaders don't have to have all the answers and that it is okay to let go. Leaders constantly send these conflicting, contradictory messages, which are shut-up signals. Suppose we don't do something about honoring the way people learn and how they check for credibility and honesty in an organization. In that case, we are just shooting ourselves in the foot repeatedly because we're doing the same things and expecting that it's going to be different. Leaders must let people experiment and know that it's safe to fail. Part of growing that muscle is to be okay with failure and see it as learning. The difference between people who succeed and those who don't is that the people who succeed keep trying and keep showing up every day. People have a template mentality about how things are supposed to work, but that's not how humans or life works. The reality is so much of the bravery, boldness, and the art of learning to show up human, making mistakes, learning, and improving. This requires us to use this muscle of trusting the process. Lead with compassion. Give yourself permission to play, be human, and make mistakes. When you do that for yourself, you are more likely to show up that way for other people, which will automatically make it safer for other people to connect with you. Hilarious actor and improvisor, Dave Theune, could easliy take over hosting Bald Talk as he proved by turning the tables on Brian and Charlie throughout this episode. It must be his midwestern charm, and the trio discuss the mysterious power of midwestern politeness compared to southern gentility. Charlie is educated about the staggering low points of divorce as Brian and Dave share about their respective divorce journeys. I don't know how many of you out there have your dream job, I hope most of you do, but my guess is that most of us do not and, worse, we don't even know what a dream job actually looks like. One of the important buzz words we've learned during the Covid-19 pandemic is pivot. Having the ability to make changes an adapt to different dynamics on the fly. This course of thought has been especially true in the comedy industry. Comedies are an important genre in literature because they allow for audiences to be uplifted. By posing humorous situations to the audience, they allow for laughter and happiness as the effects of watching them. However, during the pandemic the industry has gone through a tectonic shift moving to digital platforms to survive and thrive. Mike Jaglin is a Talent & Development Producer – with an emphasis in TV, Digital and Podcasts. He joined me this week to engage in discussion about how comedy, sports and podcasting have successfully comingled to create a prosperous pivot in these pandemic times. Sometimes it’s important to understand your limits. Like setting a budget or knowing how much you can drink at a party before you end up naked and asking people for pony rides… sorry Grandma, your birthday was great! This episode’s guest, Douglas Noll, doesn’t look at limits the same way; he has figured out how to break all of the limits: physically, mentally and has perfected learning in what seems like a superhuman way. Doug Noll was a trial lawyer in California who was tenacious and sought-after all throughout the state. Hating the commute, Doug decided to learn how to fly just to get out of traffic-jams. Ed has been a part of bands and has recently taken up concert jazz. That’s right, took up jazz. For fun. Most recently, he has been a best-selling author and has created a program to help murderers in prison to become experts in diffusing violent situations. If that last sentence doesn’t boggle your mind, I don’t know what will. We talk about learning and how to do it properly, his time as a musician, some of his amazing trial lawyer stories, the time he almost died flying a plane, and then we talk a great deal about his de-escalation techniques and his work with inmates which is absolutely amazing. What makes a movie good? This was a conversation that I recently had and it really blew my mind. The argument was “if a movie is ‘good’ and I can’t keep my eyes open during it, is it good to me?” I had to pause, and completely agree. The movies that I enjoy most are the ones where I am engaged, fully, and feel connected to because they were so entertaining. I hate to admit, but there are a lot of “good” movies that do not appeal to me in any way. You know who would totally agree with that? Michael Gibson and Calvin McCarthy. Why? Because they are producing and creating a movie in Portland right now called “Vampire Mutants from the Planet Neptune” which sounds more like a random word-generator than the title of a movie. But, after talking to these two, I have no doubt that it is going to be a really good movie, at least for me! We talk about putting a movie together, the creative process, being in movies, watching movies… we talk a lot of movies. Calvin has been an actor and director in the Portland area since he was little, and Michael is a producer and focuses on sound, which is near and dear to my heart. And yes, we do talk about hanging dong in a movie. Michael & Calvin developed the production company Video Is The Future and their first production is going to be the aforementioned “Vampire Mutants from the Planet Neptune” where you can join me at the premiere and help support this film! You know that feeling when you walk into a room, maybe it’s a party or other gathering, and you don’t know anyone really and you start to feel the walls pulling you closer until your back is against it? Or, maybe there is a dog or cat around and you decide that would be the best conversational companion? What about a room filled with people you do know? What about a room with one other person? If you still find yourself “shying away” from others, you might be an introvert. This episode’s guest completely understands where you are coming from. Nick Shelton is a world-dominating introvert. What does that mean? It means that despite having what would be considered crippling social anxiety and feeling drained being around people, Nick has found a way to overcome it! And better yet… he can help you if you have similar issues! He wrote a book so you can figure this out for yourself called “An Introvert’s Guide to World Domination” (https://amzn.to/3p6S7t1). He even has a worldwide network of introverts! Wild! We talk about Nick’s 5 engagements (and 2 marriages), the worst lines to use at a party, how to figure out if you are an introvert yourself, what to do with a masseuse who likes your feet too much, and how to watch people in public places without being creepy. Look, it’s hard to do primary research for a book. ’Tis the season for endless holiday specials. I remember torturing my parents by requiring us to all watch the same crappy shows every year… “Here Comes Santa Claus” or “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” or watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade or seeing “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” for the upteenth time… it was really a sacrifice because back then we didn’t have more than one TV in the house and it wasn’t like my Dad could watch something else or play on his iPad while I watched “A Very Brady Christmas” again. I’m surprised I wasn’t abused. But now, you can get back at your kids by listening to this on the way to wherever you are going … Let’s start with a Thanksgiving sketch about everyone’s favorite holiday side dish… “It’s a New World Delicacy” Of course, Thanksgiving is great and all… especially when that one uncle with the confederate flag on his truck drinks a little too much and starts a good, healthy conversation about politics… but let’s face it, Thanksgiving only exists so that we can celebrate the holiday that really matters… Black Friday! Here are a couple of sketches that really highlight the pleasant memories of Black Friday’s past… “It’s More Like Brown Friday, You Know What I Mean?” “The Saddest Part of Black Friday” You know it’s time to really hit the holiday gas when Starbucks brings out their holiday cups. Really, how else are you going to know when to start drinking peppermint mochas and put a lid on the pumpkin spice for a year. That’s right, there has never been a year those cups didn’t completely disappoint and cause people to lose their damn minds. “Red Cups” Now we get to the part of the show that is all musical. I’ll just let these go uninterrupted. First up, we have a song about Santa Claus that may have been unexpectedly kinky, then we have another classic that features a celebrity that takes an already rape-y song and makes it more rape-y. After that, we have rock legend Don Henley send mixed signals with his holiday classic and that is followed up by an updated version of “The Grinch” which will likely give you reason to head to UrbanDictionary.com. “The Most Unintentionally Inappropriate Christmas Song of All Time” "Baby It's Coz In Here" “Don Henley’s Most Personal Song Ever” “How The Grinch Stole Innocence” Hopefully all of those wonderful songs got your toes tapping and your voices all prepped, because one of the best things about the holidays is accosting your fellow neighbors with your unprepared voices to regale them with songs that you likely don’t know while they keep their front doors open to the bitter cold. That’s right, caroling! “Carols of the Dumbbells” What is Christmas going to become in the future? Well, we know one thing that will never go out of style… nostalgia. What is nostalgia going to look like in 2036? Kids will be just as disappointed as they are now. “Christmas Nostalgia from the Future” Well, that concludes Sketch Comedy Podcast Show’s End-of-Year One-Hour Holiday Special. I hope you have had a fun time listening, had a wonderful year and have all of your loved-ones near and close to you. Stay warm and enjoy eating all the goodies! I look forward to bringing you more interesting people having intriguing conversations and then improvising comedy sketches based on what we talked about next year and hopefully many years afterwards. As a special special bonus, after the end credits there is a song performed by former co-host Alisha Holland where she purposely does a horrible rendition of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas”. Enjoy! Sketch Comedy Podcast show is an independent and completely improvised sketch podcast that is based on conversations with interesting people like YOU! We get so caught-up in the presidential election that sometimes we forget that the most important votes are the ones that affect us locally, such as who is going to be the next person to run the town or city you are in. During the Covid-19 pandemic, local leadership was crucial to help small businesses stay in business and your neighbors to be able to stay in their homes. Local initiatives have immediate effect on our lives. So we need to get to know who is going to be leading us heading into the next couple of years. Travis Stovall believes he is that guy for my hometown, Gresham. He might be right, Travis is a scholar, has a business that helps people find themselves and be able to better deal with others, and is quite possibly one of the most personable people that you will ever meet. I originally invited him onto the show because he has a company called eRep (https://erep.com) that offers something called a CVI (Core Values Index) score which does an incredibly astute job of defining the traits and proficiencies for people. Seriously, it blew my mind, and highlighted for me my biggest strengths and made me aware of the things that I could use help with. Go to https://whatsmyCVI.com and take the 5-minute test and see what you get, I bet it is remarkably. accurate! Then, when I found out that he was going to jump into local politics, I thought it was a perfect time to see how something like the CVI could help someone navigate the different personalities and proficiencies of running a city. You can find out more about his quest for the top seat in Gresham at https://www.travisstovall.com Travis is a really entertaining human, has great stories, and listening to him just feels like you are speaking to someone who has a real grasp on the world. Watch the live recording with Ed here: Remember back to all of those really civil, insightful, and mind-expanding political discussions at Thanksgiving dinner? No? Because they don’t exist—at least not yet. Ed Wynn has spent the last 3 decades trying to help governments and companies find fixes to their problems. He is qualified to do so too, because he is really smart. Ed graduated summa cum laude at the University of Illinois and magna cum laude in law at Georgetown. Throw in the fact that he is a Truman Presidential Scholar and you can see why people are so interested in having him find solutions! The one thing Ed is not is a political insider, and his new book, “We The People” is his attempt to fix political discourse in America by laying out the blueprint to having discussions with your family during Thanksgiving. It’s worth the read just to be able to get through the evening not trying to strangle your uncle! On a personal note, I think this is the gateway to having some real discussions about heavy subjects without anyone blowing a gasket, and the book even includes TL;DR sections at the very beginning for those of us who want to be more enlightened, but also have a fantasy football team to manage. My one regret… I should have asked him more about his biking adventure. If you would like to hear more about it, please let me know. I am certain Ed would be willing to go more in-depth with that. Have you ever just picked up and moved to a big, metropolitan city you have never visited on a whim? How about deciding one day that you need to thrust your fellow generation into informed political discourse? I’m pretty sure you haven’t done either of those things. You are about to meet someone who has. Claire Malkie grew up in Virginia and studied classical acting at Hofstra University. After graduating, someone suggested moving to Chicago and, without skipping a beat, she jumped at the opportunity. Arriving in Chicago ready to tackle the stage, she soon realized that the opportunities were pretty limited, but there were tons of opportunities to do improv. So, she headed back to improv school and started learning and performing at Comedy Court and has worked at a number of festivals. Overhearing a conversation from a peer that included “I don’t really understand politics, so I don’t want to get involved”, Claire realized that she could help change that attitude, which was important to her because she realized that she had the same attitude. To remedy that disinterest, Claire now co-writes and hosts the podcast “Sit Still, Look Opinionated” (https://sit-still-look-opinionated.simplecast.com) which is not just informative and non-biased, but it is also downright funny as she and her co-writer come up with fantastic jokes about the headlines that deserve to be on late-night talk shows. I highly recommend checking it out, whether you are in the know, or are trying to be, or don’t care… because you should. Have a completely free audiobook without ANY obligation other than downloading it read by none-other than myself! Get a copy of “Snapshots” a great collection of short stories that I narrated! This week we have special guest Bryant, who is Marcus’s brother, who asked to be on the show to troll Marcus and specifically bet against Marcus’s tips because Marcus has been pretty consistently losing on the show. Aussie Degens Comedy Sports Gambling Show is recorded live, where 3 hosts competitively gamble against each other. Each week the hosts have their own bankroll that carries over from the previous weeks results, we also have a 4th bankroll for guests, which we bring guests on to bet with our money, the guest bankroll also carries over and each week the guest is able to bet 1/3 of the guest bankroll on whatever they want for whatever amounts they want. We bet on anything we can, being Australians we follow AFL and NRL, but we also bet on all leagues of soccer including the English premier league, la liga, Bundesliga, Korean k league, Japanese j league, and anything else. Where possible we try to throw in prop bets or novelty bets, we also bet live amongst ourselves on random things, as well as live betting on races that might take place whilst the show is on. We were live discussing the weeks punting on AFL/NRL and our gambling results for the weekend. Some key points: With the draw for Collingwood and Richmond, they should play half of each song or both songs at the same time. Melbourne Storm didn’t score for about 50 mins after scoring 3 tries in the first 35 mins, they took a 2 point penalty to sure up the game with 6 mins to go so I thought they’d just run out the game and the game was fucked but no they managed to score an otherwise meaningless try. We also got fucked on the odds on this cause it was 1.75 when we bet and then right before the game it went out to 2.15 when I bet and there was no real reason for it. Andrew stated "Adelaide is the bet of the round" Watching West coast v Gold Coast instead of Adelaide derby Maybe we should stop giving out Marcus’s bets on the show, so we can sell it as a service to bet against Essendon barely just held on to be up by 6 at half time for the promo to hold. Marcus should really be betting against them, if he’s a true fan he should lose so they win. However Marcus now has a new strategy to beat his punting issues. Add new rule to the punting/life rules: Rule 7. Always get a tip from supermarket checkout people as they have the inside info. Randy Orton beat Edge at WWE backlash to deliver for solid returns. Marcus 10c bet scam, where he gave odds of 10,000/1, James said he’d take it for 10c, Marcus waited over 6 mins to respond when a player had a kick right infront, so I instantly said no it’s off. Not to mention Marcus did not have enough money to make the bet anyway. Another great crowd and fun night on the Podcast as we discussed the NFL Super Bowl matchup and Tony's perfect Championship Sunday picks as the show heads to San Francisco for 9 days starting on Saturday for live podcasts, radio row coverage and our big SB party at the GlassHouse in San Jose. Miss Robin was upset with the slow internet while Tony bragged about his 8 pound weight loss in one week and compared himself to Oprah's boasts even though Tony didn't eat any bread like Oprah. We also wondering why at least 6 fans of NFL teams decided to get tattoos proclaiming their teams as SB champs, including an Arizona Cardinals and Patriots fan who did it days before the title games. We had a special guest in the Comedy Sports theatre in Philly as top-ranked UFC lightweight Champ Eddie Alvarez came on fresh off his decision over former champ Anthony Pettis at UFC Fight-Nite 81 in Boston. Great stories of his rise as a young Philly kid who wanted to be an MMA fighter since his high school wrestling days and his rise thru Bellator to the top contender in the UFC lightweight division. We also toasted Eddies victory with a shot of Marz Vodka, which will be one of the sponsors of our SB party in San Jose. We wrapped up the first hour with Eddie playing our favorite game - F-Marry-Kill.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/tony-bruno-show/donations
The great Ken Cage from Airplane Repo was on hand to provide some of his 2SP brewing company Yacht See brew and talk about the TV series and the crazy world of high end asset repos which his company IRG has been doing since 2005. Lots of laughs and good times with Ken, the audience, Luigi Curto and the whole gang as Robin did a chastity belt update, which are still apparently being used in Italy? A lucky audience member got to spin the wheel and won 175 dollars cash. We had a special surprise to end the show after making our NFC and AFC championship game picks as we picked an audience member and gave her the most important things when a snow storm is approaching: A dozen eggs, ½ gallon of milk, loaf of bread and 2 rolls of toilet paper. We also teased our upcoming SB 50 shows from all over the San Francisco Bay area starting on Feb 1st at Comedy Sports in San Jose and finishing up with a 2-hour live pregame Podcast from the incredible Glass House on Market Street in San Jose, followed with a big SB party which I will be hosting along with Miss Robin. Hope to see all of our fans from the bay area and those visiting for the biggest event in US sports.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/tony-bruno-show/donations
First Podcast of 2016 at Comedy Sports theatre in Philly and we covered a lot of different topics. Great food was provided the audience and crew by our friends at Blue Duck Philly and it was amazingly good. The top story was the Baseball Hall of Fame voters electing Ken Griffey Jr and Mike Piazza and the annual idiocy of 3 writers failing to vote for Griffey because of the archaic tradition that no player has ever gotten 100% of the vote, so Griffey fell 3 votes short of perfect. We also got into the Twitter 10-thousand character talk and how most people hate the idea so much, Twitter stock has dropped 2%. We brought on our old friend Seth Everett to talk MLB and his relationship with Ken Griffey Jr from his days in Seattle and some fun stories involving JR and Ichiro Suzuki. Got into some SuperBowl talk and promoted out big SB Podcast and party on Feb 7th, live from the beautiful Glass House in San Jose California.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/tony-bruno-show/donations
Another fun show from Comedy Sports theatre in Philly. Hour 1 kicked off with a re-union with my one time partner Harry Mayes as we reminisced about our 7 years on the year together. We were joined by Comedian Tammy Pescatelli whose most recent comedy special "Finding the Funny" is now on Netflix and I-Tunes. As a Cleveland native, we compared sucky sports towns and all agreed Cleveland is ahead of Philly when it comes to football and baseball ineptitude - especially the Browns and the never ending search for the next franchise QB. No debate on NBA teams. LeBron is back in Cleveland, so they at least have a contender while the Sixers remain the laughingstock of the league for the 3rd straight year. Tammy also had some interesting things to say about Amy Schumer who has stolen her material without attribution! We went to the Tony Bruno recorded hotline and heard from legendary caller Jose from Norristown Pa whose dropped his famous salutations to the entire crew and then Harry and I proceeded to break down the worst divisions in the NFL the last few years and which was the worst.Harry also talked about being on the Temple Football broadcast team and what an amazing 10-3 season they put together as they head to the Marmot Bacon Raton Bowl on Dec 22nd.We wound up with a discussion over Marmots and peoples obsession with animal videos on your tube and Robin and I admitted we have been filing our cats with the hopes of going viral and becoming You Tube millionaires on the backs and paws of our pets.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/tony-bruno-show/donations
