Love Island fans, this is for you! But also, even if you never watched it once, I challenge you not to fall in love with this lady. She has devoted her time since leaving the villa to mental health awareness, and speaks so openly and passionately about it. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and Montana is an advocate and role model. ***A trigger warning: This episode contains a conversation about suicide. The Samaritans are available 24/7 in Ireland and the UK on 116 123. In Ireland. text for help on 50808.
Egyptian-American writer and activist Mona Eltahawy believes women should start actively defying and disrupting the patriarchy now - with force if necessary. Mona explains why she wrote her new book ‘The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls’ with enough 'rage to fuel a rocket.' Tech entrepreneur, Tabitha Goldstaub who chairs the UK's AI Council and Carly Kind, director of the Ada Lovelace Institute, discuss concerns that because Artificial Intelligence algorithms are created from the data we give it, biases in society will be replicated and even amplified by it in the future. TV presenter Jan Leeming and dating expert Charly Lester share tips and advice on how to go about dating in your late 60’s. Scarlett Moffatt, famous for Gogglebox and winning I'm A Celebrity, has just become an ambassador for the Samaritans. She talks about how reality television has affected her mental health, and exchanges experiences with Montana Brown who appeared on Love Island. The last time the European Space Agency recruited for their Class of 2009, only 16% of applications came from women. One of the women chosen, Samantha Cristoforetti, talks about the ESA's latest recruitment drive and what skills are needed to make it in space. Iranian artist Mentrix talks about her new single and video '99 Names of God', a well-known Muslim chant, traditionally sung by men during Ramadan. Mentrix explains the ideas behind the accompanying video which has generated a lot of criticism, with some people describing it as offensive, disrespectful and sinful. Presenter: Anita Rani Producer: Paula McFarlane Editor: Kirsty Starkey
There's to be an inquiry into the Covid pandemic. It will start in Spring next year. We speak to one of the women who's been pushing for it, but still thinking it's starting too late. Her name is Jean Adamson from the Covid-19 Bereaved families For Justice. Scarlett Moffatt, famous for Gogglebox and winning I'm A Celebrity ... has just become an ambassador for The Samaritans. She talks to Woman's Hour about how reality television has affected her mental health, and exchanges experiences with Montana Brown who appeared on Love Island. One of the things they talk about is whether reality TV does enough to support young women who choose to go on these shows. Patricia Devlin is a crime journalist in Northern Ireland. She specialises in investigating paramilitary criminal activity. Because of her work, Patricia has suffered continuous threats to her life but now her baby son has been targeted for the second time. She tells us how she's coping and how she wants the PSNI to take these threats more seriously. Artificial intelligence is everywhere. AI is playing a part in how we all work, live and play. But there are worries that because AI algorithms are created from the data we give it, biases in society will be replicated and even amplified by it in the future. Both the The European Union and the UK government are working on strategies to address this. Emma talks to the tech entrepreneur Tabitha Goldstaub who Chairs the UK's AI Council and to Carly Kind the Director of the Ada Lovelace Institute.

"This town ain't Biggs enough for the both of us" said Ched It's a series three reunion because Kem and Arielle have Montana Brown in the studio this morning! So, it looks like tonight's reunion is going to be p r e t t y savage. We're going to be watching from behind the sofa (but secretly loving the drama - let's be honest) Let's break it down - we have The Swayers, like Nas who is getting his head turned by Eva, and Callum who has LOST HIS HEAD over Molly. Still slightly traumatised after that snog, is there any going to Shaughna after that? On the other hand, we have The Stayers who want to stick with their original couples. BUT anything could happen - cancel all your plans and be there on ITV2 at 9pm tonight to see the two villas get back together. Popcorn at the ready, peeps. Join our Crush Club by emailing us on themorningafter@itv.com and send us your hilarious tweets so we can read them out right here on the podcast. Why don't we all just get together after this and play a nice friendly round of the put your body parts on the emoji mat and then lick each others' necks game? Nobody?! Okay :(
On Love Island and Date My Family - what's it like to date in front of millions? With TV dating shows the idea is for romance to blossom between contestants, but can fame and fortune also follow? Kim Chakanetsa brings together two women who know. Montana Brown is one of the breakout stars of the British TV show Love Island. She took part in 2017 and became popular for her no-nonsense attitude and quick-witted banter. Despite coming fifth in the dating competition, since leaving the villa she has amassed an impressive social media following and started her own swimwear company. Rey Letsooa became a household name in South Africa after appearing on the popular show Date My Family. Although she didn't ultimately get together with her chosen bachelor, her show trended on social media for three days and viewers seemed to connect with her confidence and authenticity. Rey says 'I knew I would get judged on my weight but I didn't let it stop me. I may be a size whatever but I knew that what I am is more than that.' (Image: Montana Brown (L) Credit: BBC. Toes and feet, thumbs and bums, and terrible chat up lines are all on the table with Luke Franks and Arielle Free on this episode. Plus, why does James think dating is like being in prison, and why he nearly never saw his fiancé again after their second date.
With Kem away for the day, Arielle is joined by the spectacular Montana Brown and boy, do we have a LOT to catch up on. Last night, it was the boys' turn to choose in the recoupling, and we saw Anton and Tommy finally make their minds up, some cute new couples and there was some trouble in paradise for some of our existing couples. The bridezillas had a food fight and, safe to say, it caused some ripples in the vila - there were tears and it wasn't just because Amy got cake in her eye. Talk to us using #LoveIslandPodcast and we might get one of our gorgeous guests to read out your tweets.Make sure you're watching ITV at 9pm tonight to see Maura and Anna's dates with the new boys, and to find out who our Islanders think are the least compatible couple... Hello! And Good News! This week I have Charlie Mihelich back on the ‘ol pod to talk good news. Charlie is an improvisor, writer, and actor. Charlie and I get back on the big red couch and talk all about: Montana Brown a childhood cancer survivor who now works as a nurse at the center she was once a patient at. We touch on some celebrities who have donated to disaster relief in Puerto Rico. Which leads us into talking about doomsday prepper, Joseph Badame, who after learning his house would be foreclosed, donated everything (40 years worth of survival prep) to hurricane relief. Animal corner features Frida, a 7 year old search-and-rescue labrador who has helped find 52 people in her career. Frida is currently in Mexico aiding the Mexican Navy as they search for earthquake survivors. This leads us into a discussion about emotional intelligence in animals and whether it is instinctual or a learned trait. Charlie is from Riverside, and Riverside County is home to one of the largest solar farms in the country. California is working towards becoming 100% renewable energy based in the next 30 years and Riverside County is one of the biggest providers of solar and wind power in the state. We wrap up the episode talking about Charlie’s good news, living in the moment, enjoying the people you are with, and saying yes to things when you have an opportunity! If you live in Los Angeles you can see Charlie performing around town! His upcoming shows in October are: Catharsis: Dramatic Improv - UCB Sunset 7pm, 10/23Purgatory - Every 2nd and 4th Monday on The Clubhouse Mainstage 8:30pm Every 3rd Wednesday at The UCB I.S.
