Morgan ran off to play with some other little kids to catch fireflies in the parking lot of baseball field at 10 pm, but by 10:30, Morgan had disappeared. What transpired after that is one of the most elaborate searches in a child abduction case, ever, and Morgan Nick's case remains one of the most elusive and infamous True Crime cases of all time.Danick Adams was an 18-year-old mother of one who lived in Jacksonville, Arkansas. On October 2, 2024, police announced a huge break in the case of missing 6-year-old, Morgan Nick. A hair that is a DNA match to hers was found in the truck owned by longtime suspect in her case, Billy Jack Links. Links died in prison in 2000, so now the investigation's focus is on finding Morgan's body. We released our episode on Morgan's case in 2021, so this week we are re-releasing it here. 6-year-old Morgan Nick was catching fireflies with her friends on a hot summer night in Alma, Arkansas. She was with her mother at a little league game, having the sort of summer that childhood memories are built on. But as the game ended and her friends returned to their parents, Morgan was gone. Only minutes had passed since Morgan had been seen, but there was no trace of the little girl. Despite a lightning-fast police response and an eyewitness account of a “creepy” man talking to Morgan, no trace of her was found after June 9, 1995. But nearly 30 years later, Morgan's mother Colleen still spends every single day fighting for her daughter and searching for answers. Can new technology be the key to finally bringing Morgan home?If you have any information regarding Morgan Nick's disappearance, please contact the Alma, Arkansas Police at 479-632-3333.Buy the ebook! - And Then They Were Gone: True Stories of Those Who Went Missing and Never Came HomeSubmit a caseFind us everywhereGet episodes early and ad-free on PatreonMerch storeFor a full list of our sources, please visit our blogBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/and-then-they-were-gone--5360779/support.

This week, Christine takes on the heartbreaking (and still unsolved) abduction of Morgan Nick. In 1995, Morgan was a vibrant 6-year-old girl who was enjoying an evening catching fireflies with her friends at a little league baseball game. After going toward her mom's car to empty sand from her shoes, Morgan is never seen of or heard from again. There are a couple of people of interest that police have investigated throughout the years within the case, and we go over each one, as well as the 4-part Hulu documentary which heavily features Morgan's family. Hi listeners! This week we're sharing an episode from Sarah's podcast Voices for Justice. We'll be back in two weeks with a new episode of Disappearances. On June 9, 1995, Colleen Nick was invited to attend a little league baseball game with a few friends in Alma, Arkansas. She took her 6-year-old daughter Morgan Nick with her. Near the end of the game, Morgan went to play with other children. She was only out of her mother's sight for a few minutes… Morgan has been missing ever since. Possibly the largest lead in her case was the sighting of a man in a red truck near Morgan shortly before she disappeared. But that lead sat for 26 years until investigators found some damning evidence in what they believe may be the red truck seen next to Morgan the night she went missing. Morgan is white, with naturally blonde hair and blue eyes. When she went missing, she was approximately 4 feet tall and weighed 55lbs. As of recording this episode, she would now be 34 years old. Anyone with information about the disappearance of Morgan Nick is asked to call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST, or 1-800-843-5678. Director Louise Malkinson and Producer Harry Hewland of MH370: The Plane that Disappeared, a Netflix three-part docuseries. Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 was supposed to be a routine trip: A redeye from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with 239 passengers and crew on board. But shortly after takeoff on a calm 2014 night, MH370 vanished from radar screens for good. The shocking disappearance of a commercial airliner made headlines, sparked riots, plunged the passengers' next of kin into a nightmare, and generated a global search for answers that never came. Set across seven countries, this gripping documentary series uses powerful archives to reconstruct the night of the disappearance, giving viewers the chance to explore three of the most contentious theories about the plane's disappearance. It also features interviews with family members, scientists, journalists, and the ordinary people around the world who, after nine years, refuse to give up hope of an explanation. June 9, 1995. Alma, Arkansas. While attending a Little League baseball game with her mother, six-year old Morgan Nick goes off to play with some other kids before she vanishes without a trace. Morgan's friends claim that she was spoken to by an unidentified man standing next to a red pick-up truck, so it is suspected that this man might have abducted her. Over two decades later, a deceased sex offender named Billy Jack Lincks is publicly named as a person of interest, but he has not been conclusively connected to the case and Morgan has still not been found. On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we will be exploring a tragic missing children's case which has gone unsolved for over 27 years. In addition, we will also discuss the unsolved 2001 disappearance of three-month-old Jacqueline Vasquez, who was abducted from a swap meet in Avondale, Arizona. Special thanks to listener Chardonnay Brown for narrating the opening of this episode. If you have any information on the disappearance of Morgan Nick, please contact the FBI, the Arkansas State Police at (501) 618-8000 or the Alma Police Department at (479) 632-3333. Who abducted Arkansas little girl Morgan Nick in 1995? This week on Solvable Mysteries we investigate the puzzling disappearance and feared, and probable, abduction of Morgan Nick, a six year old living in Arkansas who disappeared late in the evening of June 9th from a Little League game after going to collect fireflies with a couple of friends. The other children said a strange, creepy man had approached them, and Morgan disappeared, never to be seen again, shortly thereafter. In the years since, Morgan's mother Colleen Nick has become a vocal supporter of the families of missing people, and founded her own organization dedicated to this cause. Please Subscribe to our YouTube channel to make sure you don't miss new episodes of the Solvable Mysteries Podcast, we upload on a weekly basis.
Episode 11 Pam FelkinsIn 1990, Pam Felkins was abducted from her job as a clerk at Crossroads Video in Faulkner County, Arkansas. She was taken in a 17 minute window, leaving her smoldering cigarette and warm coffee on the counter. Her body was found the next day. A maroon pickup truck with a white camper shell was seen in the area on the night she was abducted. There was a very good suspect in the case who was found to have a drawer of trophies hidden in his home – none of which were connected to Pam. Her case remained unsolved for decades until forensic genealogy pointed to her killer. And, this case has a possible connection to another, very famous Arkansas case – the disappearance of Morgan Nick. Keeping Students Safe: Understanding Child Trafficking - Genevie Strickland - Morgan Nick FoundationGenevie Strickland of the Morgan Nick Foundation helps us deepen our understanding of human trafficking as well as how educators play a vital role in keeping Arkansas students safe. The internet is one of the single biggest factors affecting our children and their safety in society today. We need to understand why and what affect it has on students learning and beyond. Teen Internet usage and attitudes about safety present potential risks, but also opportunities for education. Internet safety, risky behaviors such as sharing too much information online and sexting, cyberbullying, dangerous internet sites and apps all aid in the harm and exploitation of children. These risky behaviors can be a common link leading to a global issue commonly referred to as Human Trafficking/Sex Trafficking. We need to understand how schools are impacted, why it is critically important for those in educational environments to be involved in the process and understand exactly what trafficking looks like amongst students today. Our safety and prevention education curriculum is taught to children in the school system, providing real world safety, internet safety skills, and abduction prevention education. In March 2020 the world was hit by the COVID 19 pandemic and our education system was greatly impacted as schools revamped to virtual learning. To date we have provided education to more than 850,000 children, families and teachers in Arkansas schools, so the shut down of onsite learning impacted the message we know children so desperately need at this time. Understanding that kids would be online even more while spending time at home doing virtual learning, our office immediately switched gears in search of new ways to get these safety messages to students. We hired two more educators with various backgrounds in education and began the process of constructing a new curriculum from the discipline we already use to educate. This curriculum will support Arkansas Educators, caregivers, parents, and students. Our presentations use the latest technology to create high-impact educational activities for even the most tech-savvy kids of any age group, with the end goal of expanding the safety awareness of children and empowering them to make responsible decisions online and in real life. The Firefly Project was created because the Morgan Nick Foundation believes education is the key to safety. When children recognize the dangers they can make good choices. This curriculum is written to bring the light of truth into a sometimes dangerous and scary world. But over 25 years later, Morgan’s mother Colleen still spends every single day fighting for her daughter and searching for answers. Can new technology be the key to finally bringing Morgan home? Lyle Stevik It was Friday, September 14, 2001 when a man in a gray shirt with a blue plaid top and jeans walked into the Quinault Inn in Amanda Park, Washington. He wrote down the name “Lyle Stevik” and paid for a single night’s stay but told the receptionist that he might stay for “a few more days.” He brought no luggage with him, in fact the only thing he had in hand was a toothbrush and toothpaste. Nothing seemed that unusual with Lyle until a few days later on September 17, when he was found dead inside his hotel room. Police ruled his death a suicide. He was found inside the hotel closet having hanged himself by the neck using his belt and the clothes railing. During the investigation, police found a crumpled note with the word “suicide” written on it along with $160 in $20 bills with the words scribbled on them….“for the room.” 4.
