Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata tore into the Mets after their sweep in Philadelphia, questioning whether the players have any fight left. They lamented the team's "lifeless" performance after a promising start in the final game, saying the Mets look like a "dead team walking" and that it's "unacceptable" for a team with their payroll to be collapsing. The hosts also discussed the Yankees' big win against the Tigers, giving their NFL Week 2 best bets, and analyzed the surprising news about Anthony Volpe's injury and the Yankees' handling of it.
In hour 2, the WIP Midday Show are reacting to Eliot Shorr-Parks' comment that a loss to the Chiefs would be acceptable. Then they are deciding for themselves if it would be acceptable or not. For months and months, despite counter-narrative attempts by the organization, objective observers have stately plainly that the Dolphins' 2025 offseason was proceeding in such a way that a road to a disastrous season was becoming clearer. In fact, it felt like it was among the most likely possibilities. After the Dolphins were dismantled, destroyed, and embarrassed by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, it feels like the possibility of a disaster season is all but a certainty. Aaron and Josh are back to unpack the reactions to the game, including the news that the Dolphins didn't just lose – they suffered serious, and potentially devastating injury setbacks. Carl and Mike get back into some NFL talk and more conversation on the Jalen Carter spitting on Dak Prescott incident before the season opener got underway and agree that those who believe Dak Prescott deserve what happened are wrong for their opinion as Prescott did not spit on Carter. They then get into some Georgia Bulldogs' talk and revisit their conversation with Mike Griffith as he shared why he believes Georgia needs to be better in short yards offense. As they discuss, they agree that on Saturday, Georgia will unlikely display much dominance in that aspect, however when they open their SEC play against Tennessee, they must be better.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has been slammed for describing Zimbabwe's land confiscation process as “essential” and “ambitious”. In his reaction, Willie Aucamp, the Democratic Alliance's National Spokesperson, said Zimbabwe was “destroyed by the ideology and the implementation of their land grabs. And for our president to now go and praise the land reform efforts that Zimbabwe instituted in early 2000s is unacceptable…you're getting into a position where you are very afraid of what the real ideological ideas behind the Expropriation Act is…if you've got a president standing on an international stage like the one that he was on over the weekend, praising them for an absolute catastrophe of land reform implementation, it is going to deter investors away from our country and it's going to harm our economy - and it should not be allowed.” Aucamp stresses that the DA is “totally in favour” of redistribution of land, providing it takes places within the bounds of the Constitution. Meanwhile, Aucamp feels conficent that his party's court case against the Expropriation Act will succeed.

BT and Sal tore into the Mets for what they deemed an "unacceptable" and "disgraceful" loss, a stunning collapse that saw the team blow a six-run lead to the Atlanta Braves. The hosts expressed outrage that the Mets' pitching staff, led by All-Star David Peterson, could not hold a significant lead, a recurring issue that has plagued the team for months. They criticized the organization for its inability to fix the pitching problem and questioned whether the Mets have what it takes to be a serious contender, arguing that the constant breakdowns are a sign of a team with a low ceiling and a frighteningly low floor.
And welcome back to the program. Let's go to the WRID chalk line. We'll talk to Dean in Cashville. How are you doing, Dean? Not bad, Charlie. And I don't know what the message someone's seeing on Facebook was, but the service you're doing for this community is immense. And the reason I mentioned this is the fault you all cut you all are the voice of the Carolinas. And that's that means a lot of people do not realize what's at stake in this sheriff's race. Yeah. Charlie, you if you have not been to Downtown Spartanburg, the Montgomery Building that has been restored, there is the lobby is vintage nineteen twenties. It's gorgeous. They've got another new hotel, and I've not been to Boiling Springs in years. Right. Their target is amazing. So what I'm saying is there's a lot of money coming into Spartanburg, a lot of development. And that when you talk to the sheriff, this is one issue that it's like going to Downtown Spartanburg. That would be a great thing to do. This is why what you're doing is so important and why I wanted I just wanted to thank you for what you do. And the Montgomery Building in Spartanburg is gorgeous. Well, I appreciate it. Thank you very much, Dean. Let's go to David in Greenville and talk to him. David, what's on your mind this afternoon? Well, you're talking, I'm one of those people like you who was glad that, I see the police drive through drive through my neighborhood. Yeah. Well, this morning, I went to parties to have my twice weekly breakfast there. Alright. There is this, no time to make it racial here, but this black woman had a couple of small children with her. Well, the, two police officers come in. Guess what? The smallest child started dealing when he saw police walk up. Oh, no. What? He's screaming and crying and checking. I hate you, police. I hate you. Oh my gosh. And that's that's it. I mean, you people teach their children to be afraid of police officers, and that is completely the wrong thing to do because who are they gonna run to if there's a problem? I appreciate it, David. Thank you. Let's go to Melissa in Malden. Melissa, welcome to you. Hello, Charlie. How are you? I'm doing good. How about yourself? Wait. Melissa from Malden. Yes, ma'am. What's going on? You know what I wanna talk about? So I wanna talk about our senior citizens and Social Security and all of that. I ordered a pizza yesterday, and this poor man came with a walker. I mean, not a walker, a cane, and a pizza in one hand, cane in the other, walking to my front door. He's 80 years old, and he cannot survive of his Social Security check. I I mean, I literally talked to him for, like, ten minutes. Yeah. But my husband's in the same boat. He's 70. He's living off Social Security. And my thing is is, like, all of this money that American taxpayers have sent for the illegals through Social Security Yeah. The during the Biden administration. You are right. When are our so when when are our seniors gonna get a a check? A decent raise. They need it they need to be repaid because this is ridiculous. This poor man is delivering pizzas at 80 years old. Right. Yeah. Just do. A cane. Yeah. I understand. Unacceptable. It is unacceptable. And and then the Biden administration, they literally stole money from taxpayers. I appreciate it, Melissa. Stole and it's not just the illegal aliens. It's the people that are getting Social Security illegally. Those are the only people that the Republicans are looking at kicking off the Social Security roles and the Medicare roles and the Medicaid roles are the people that are gaming the system. They're the ones that are stealing from the American people, but the Democrats, they're like, oh, no. We have to protect those. Alright. I got a nasty. I got a nasty email yesterday. We told you about the story yesterday about, these animal advocates who basically, according to the sheriff's department, stole this little dog named Max. They named it Max. That was I think the dog's r ...

BT is absolutely disgusted and furious with the New York Mets' performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates, calling their series sweep "completely unacceptable" and a "disgrace." He highlights the stark contrast between the Mets' staggering $325 million payroll and the Pirates' meager $90 million, emphasizing that a team with such high-priced stars should never be outscored 30-4 by a low-budget opponent. BT also expresses frustration with the team's lifeless play, the ineffective pitching, the anemic offense, and the repeated failures of team meetings and managerial ejections to spark any change, concluding that the Mets have hit a new low despite their high expectations.

Send us a textWelcome to the May 8th Daily Drop, where Peaches breaks down another round of Pentagon chaos with his signature sarcasm. On today's menu: the DoD admits it probably won't pass an audit… for at least another 3 years (LOL), military daycares struggle with child abuse reporting (yikes), and the Pentagon's cyber warriors are apparently fighting cartels with keyboards at the border (sure, why not?).Meanwhile, the KC-46 Pegasus finally clears its cracked ribs, the F-15EX basing drama gets messier, and SOCOM's new aircraft is already asking for upgrades—less than a year in. Over in Space Force? They're making a planetarium movie to convince you they're not just a meme, while also quietly building a new orbital warfare “product line.” Oh, and North Korea? Still launching missiles. No big deal.
UNACCEPTABLE CCP: 2/4: No Escape: The True Story of China's Genocide of the Uyghurs Kindle Edition by Nury Turkel https://www.amazon.com/No-Escape-Chinas-Genocide-Uyghurs-ebook/dp/B09CMRPZL1/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2HQXI67T1UBCW&keywords=NO+ESCAPE+TURKEL&qid=1669243597&s=books&sprefix=no+escape+turkel%2Cstripbooks%2C73&sr=1-1 In recent years, the People's Republic of China has rounded up as many as three million Uyghurs, placing them in what it calls “reeducation camps,” facilities most of the world identifies as concentration camps. There, the genocide and enslavement of the Uyghur people are ongoing. The tactics employed are reminiscent of the Cultural Revolution, but the results are far more insidious because of the technology used, most of it stolen from Silicon Valley. In the words of Turkel, “Communist China has created an open prison-like environment through the most intrusive surveillance state that the world has ever known while committing genocide and enslaving the Uyghurs on the world's watch.” As a human rights attorney and Uyghur activist who now serves on the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, Turkel tells his personal story to help explain the urgency and scope of the Uyghur crisis. Born in 1970 in a reeducation camp, he was lucky enough to survive and eventually make his way to the US, where he became the first Uyghur to receive an American law degree. Since then, he has worked as a prominent lawyer, activist, and spokesperson for his people and advocated strong policy responses from the liberal democracies to address atrocity crimes against his people. The Uyghur crisis is turning into the greatest human rights crisis of the twenty-first century, a systematic cleansing of an entire race of people in the millions. Part Anne Frank and Hannah Arendt, No Escape shares Turkel's personal story while drawing back the curtain on the historically unprecedented and increasing threat from China.

UNACCEPTABLE CCP: 1/4: No Escape: The True Story of China's Genocide of the Uyghurs Kindle Edition by Nury Turkel https://www.amazon.com/No-Escape-Chinas-Genocide-Uyghurs-ebook/dp/B09CMRPZL1/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2HQXI67T1UBCW&keywords=NO+ESCAPE+TURKEL&qid=1669243597&s=books&sprefix=no+escape+turkel%2Cstripbooks%2C73&sr=1-1 In recent years, the People's Republic of China has rounded up as many as three million Uyghurs, placing them in what it calls “reeducation camps,” facilities most of the world identifies as concentration camps.
