Craig Carton & Chris McMonigle kick off this edition of "The Carton Show" with a heated debate over the future of New York Football. Giants & Jets could be the next Patriots? Who actually has a bright future if either? Also the guys get into it when discussing John Harbaugh's motivations for coming to Big Blue.
Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle dive into a wide-ranging NFL discussion on The Carton Show, reacting to the Bears knocking off the Packers, the state of the NFL playoffs, and how the league's biggest games continue to dominate America. Carton delivers classic rants on coaching decisions, quarterbacks, and draft implications while tying it all back to the ongoing misery surrounding the New York Jets and New York Giants. From playoff pressure to front-office accountability, Carton and McMonigle give their unfiltered take on what's wrong — and what could be next — in the NFL.
Time for Cinco de Lunch-o the show turns into a full-blown vent session for New York football fans. Evan and Shaun rank the five figureheads fans should be most furious with, starting with the Giants' defensive mess and ending with the most infuriating answer of all: how the Giants can justify bringing Joe Schoen back. Along the way, they debate whether Aaron Glenn's “tough guy” approach should matter, and why Jets ownership keeps making the job feel impossible. Then the show pivots into baseball with a hilarious MLB free agency bingo update where everybody whiffs on where Murakami would land. That leads into Evan's frustration with the Mets and Yankees seemingly passing on a perfect fit from Japan, and why the price tag makes it even more annoying. The segment closes with a surprisingly honest conversation about being a sports fan: you scream, you vent, and then you're forced to live with whatever your team does. Plus, a quick dive into early 2026 win totals and why Mets fans might have to accept an “86 wins is fine” mindset on January 6. Finally, the phones bring the chaos, including coaching takes, a Nets trade detour, and an all-time moment with a “17-year-old” caller who is definitely, absolutely, totally not cutting school.
On Black Monday, the Jets and Giants seasons officially come to an end, and the focus shifts from speculation to hard truths. The Giants retain Joe Schoen in the name of stability, while the Jets face tougher questions after another embarrassing finish. The conversation centers on continuity versus chaos, why front offices crave stability when hiring a head coach, and whether hope and faith are enough to sell a broken fan base. Plus, a blunt reaction to Aaron Glenn's “trust me” answer, why belief without evidence falls flat, and how both franchises now face defining decisions at quarterback that will shape the next decade.

It's a Football Monday and New York is buzzing for all the wrong reasons. Jerry and CMac dive into a wild Sunday where the Giants managed a win that many fans actually hated, while the Jets were utterly embarrassed by the Patriots. Jerry claims there's a light at the end of the tunnel for Big Blue, but CMac isn't buying it—he's too busy railing against "meaningless wins" and the draft picks they cost. From the coaching hot seat of Aaron Glenn to Jaxson Dart's rollercoaster development and a deep dive into why the Jets have actually gone backward, we're breaking down the wreckage of the 2025 season. That and all the action from C-Lo.
Jerry and Willie Colon dissect the "stuck and miserable" reality for Jets fans, questioning if a locker room playing for themselves has completely tanked the season's expectations. Plus, the guys recap Brock Purdy's 5-TD masterclass and Philip Rivers' vintage return, while debating whether the Giants and Jets are making desperate moves just to appease a fed-up fanbase.

It's a bleak Monday midday at WFAN as Marc Malusis rings in the final week before Christmas with a scorched-earth assessment of the Giants and Jets. With the 2025 season effectively over for both franchises, "Moose" targets the Giants' lack of identity, slamming the "boring" and "fearful" game plan against the Vikings that stunted rookie Jaxson Dart's growth. From Darius Slayton's drops to Abdul Carter's costly penalties, Malusis demands a total culture shift and a "clean sweep" of the front office if necessary. He contrasts the local dysfunction with the resurgence of the Patriots, delivering a wake-up call to the Giants and Jets: the New York standard has officially hit rock bottom, and it's time to stop the "nonsense."

BT and Sal deliver a fiery critique of the Yankees' disastrous 0-2 start in the ALDS against the Blue Jays, emphasizing the team's stunning lack of offense (50 whiffs in five games) and the urgent need for Aaron Judge to break out of his "soft .440" slump and be the star. They debate if the short best-of-five series format is a disservice to baseball and express zero confidence in the team's ability to turn it around based on evidence, despite their hope for a win in Game 3. Later, NFL Insider Brian Baldinger joins the show to deliver a scathing review of the New York football teams, citing the Giants' "careless" mistakes and poor coaching, while utterly lamenting the Jets' "embarrassing" performance, zero takeaways in five games, and organizationally flawed culture.

Sal was joined in the studio by Kyle Brandt of NFL's Good Morning Football to break down the latest from the Jets and Giants. The conversation quickly got heated as they lamented the current state of both teams, with Brandt sharing his take on the Jets' new regime, the hiring of Aaron Glenn, and the struggles of quarterback Justin Fields. For the Giants, the discussion centered on the surprising play of Russell Wilson and the team's missed opportunities, leading to a fiery debate on whether the Giants can pull off a much-needed win against a vulnerable Chiefs team.
BT and Sal laid out the cold, hard truth for the Jets and Giants this season, setting realistic expectations that cut through the typical offseason hype. While acknowledging that the Jets must focus on cleaning up years of internal mess and building a solid foundation, Sal believes that a successful season for them isn't measured in wins, but rather in a shift in organizational culture. For the Giants, however, the pressure is on. BT and Sal agreed that with this being year four for Brian Daboll and the roster finally being comprised of "his guys," the team must deliver a winning season, with nothing less than a nine-win season being acceptable. It's a "no more excuses" season for both teams, but with very different definitions of success.
Sal dove into his expectations for the Jets and Giants, sharing his excitement for the NFL season while fiercely dismissing excuses about their schedules. He touched on a wide range of topics, including the Jets' coaching staff dining at a restaurant he frequents and his cautious optimism for Justin Fields, despite his concerns about the quarterback's throwing ability. Sal also revisited his recent conversation with Mike Francesa, whom he considers a legend and friend, before enthusiastically sharing his plans to see the new Naked Gun movie, which he is very excited about. He rounded out the show with a passionate conversation on Mets' hitting, Frankie Montas's failures, and Juan Soto's unique place on the team.
Brandon Tierney ignites the debate around the WFAN Quarter-Century Team, a compilation of the best New York Jets and Giants players from the first 25 years of this century. He dissects the offensive and defensive rosters, offering his candid takes on who made the cut and who got snubbed, highlighting the overwhelming Giants' presence and the Jets' struggles. Tierney also touches on recent Jets' contract extensions and his renewed optimism for both New York football teams this upcoming season.

It will be interesting to see what the Giants will do with the quarterback situation after this upcoming bye week. For the Jets, Joe Douglas will be gone as GM and Jeff Ulbrich will be gone as head coach. Will Aaron Rodgers come back and do we want that? Boomer said the moment his achilles snapped, his time here snapped. Everyone is looking at him for the answers, and he doesn't have the answers. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Cardinals smacking the Jets around. Aaron Rodgers is looking forward to ways to beat the Colts. Davante Adams talked about the lack of energy. The Giants lost to the Panthers in Germany after an OT fumble. Brian Daboll wants the flea flicker play back. The Giants/Cowboys game went exactly as we all thought it would be. Total squash spot. A gimme for the Cowboys. They gave up 640 yards of offense. They got whacked by the Cowboys twice. The Giants rebuild was put on hold last year after they surprisingly made the playoffs. The full rebuild has to be on right now. The Jets are rinse and repeat. It's the same thing over and over again. Zach Wilson did make an incredible throw on a hail mary at the end of the game. He also threw a key interception in the drive prior to needing to throw a hail mary. The Jets just don't score touchdowns. Zach is in a similar situation that Alex Smith was in before he figured it out with Jim Harbaugh. Gio said the Jets have bad quarterback play and bad coaching. That's why Aaron Rodgers came here. And now after going down with an injury we're back to back quarterback play and bad coaching.Gio is over looking at the few good things Zach does. They keep losing and they don't score touchdowns. It's Home Alone 2 with Zach Wilson. The Jets have 8 touchdowns in 9 games. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with the lowlights of the Jets loss in Vegas. Rob Saleh was asked why they can't score touchdowns. Zach talked about his interception late in the game. Garrett Wilson was asked how to stay positive in these situations. Sauce Gardner was asked if they have no margin for error. The Giants were down 28-0 in the first half. Brian Daboll said they have a lot to work on. Saquon talked about being embarrassed week after week. Jerry went around the NFL yesterday. In the final segment of the hour, the Jets now have to play Buffalo and then Miami. The Jets have historic streaks now of not being able to score a TD. Boomer thinks it's best for Zach's career if he goes somewhere else.
