In hour two, Solana finally sneaks his Norman Powell update into the show. Rex Ryan is reportedly linked to the Dolphins head coaching job if it becomes available. Plus, Mike Cugno joins the show live at Amerant Bank Arena.
John Franco and Matt Harvey were spotted behind home plate—no Yankees gear, which Gio says would have rubbed him the wrong way—and he wonders if Eddie hates the Yanks more than he loves the Mets. A caller questions baserunners' “oven mitts,” and a woman shares her failed attempt to hug Matt Martin. Jerry brings the sounds of Austin Wells' clutch single and Ben Rice's first-inning homer, while Mookie Betts shines as the Dodgers advance. The hour wraps with Jayden Daniels gloating over the Mets missing the playoffs, Shedeur Sanders miming in response to Rex Ryan, and Gio speculating if any team would pick him up if released.
In the Third Hour, Mark comes in. More thoughts on Shedeur's response to Rex Ryan. Mark laments that a backup QB should not be the focal point of the team. AJ Brown is a diva WR. Should the 'Tush Push' be a legal play in the NFL? Or is it just part of the game? Sean Payton's thoughts on the 'Tush Push.'
ProFootballTalk and NBC Sports NFL insider, Myles Simmons joins Cofield & Company to discuss what took place to allow the Chicago Bears to block the field goal to secure the victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, review the Cleveland Browns' decision to start rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel over Joe Flacco in Week 5 of the NFL season, and give his thoughts on Shedeur Sanders' mother blasting Rex Ryan on social media after criticizing Shedeur's work ethic on ESPN's Get Up. CEO of The Sporting Tribune, Arash Markazi, joins Cofield & Co. to recap the Los Angeles Dodgers' 10-5 Game 1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the Wildcard round of the MLB post-season, detail the special concessions being offered at Dodger Stadium during the playoffs, and preview the Los Angeles Rams' Thursday Night Football match-up against the San Francisco 49ers.
0:00 - Shedeur talked to media in the locker room yesterday...by not actually talking at all. He adressed reporters with a wordless answer. He was moving his lips but not making any noise. Was this a shot at Rex Ryan saying he runs his mouth? Even still, what a weird thing to do.20:14 - How good is Jalen Hurts? Is he a world-beater, bonafide game-changing QB? The so-called "rising tide" that lifts all boats? Or is he just good enough to work with the pieces around him? Not that there's anything wrong with that!33:02 - Moser found an article that divides all NFL teams into 5 tiers. (it's pretty inferior if you ask us, since it's just tiers without power rankings...) Where do the Broncos stack up?

Rex Ryan blasted Shedeur Sanders for his starter talk, prompting Sanders' mom to fire back calling Rex “impotent” and “cancerous.” Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel gets the start for the Browns. Also, Moment of the Day.
The show was wall-to-wall Yankees angst as the Bombers sit on the brink, Boone's bullpen moves under fire and the bats going dead when it mattered most. Boomer & Gio tried to pump optimism with lefties in the lineup and visions of a Bronx breakout, while Gio admitted it all feels like “here we go again.” Along the way we got Benigno raging at everyone from Stearns to Sauce, Jerry Jones rising “like Dracula,” a caller crowning Eddie the only true Mets fan, and Rex Ryan trading insults with Shedeur Sanders' mom. It all wrapped with Gio predicting a Yankees surge, Boomer wondering which Rodón shows up, and plenty of fumes—on and off the field.
A caller crowned Eddie the only “real” Mets fan for rooting against the Yankees, while Gio swore he can't go that far or it's back to talking Aaron Glenn stacking Legos. Robbie Berger of Bob Does Sports called in furious, calling the loss “classic overmanagement” in a night that had Yankee fans fuming. Meanwhile Jerry's update brought some bathroom humor, Rex Ryan's feud with Shedeur Sanders and his mom, and word that Dillon Gabriel will start for the Browns.

Richardson's presence signals a deep dive into the current state of Gang Green, likely featuring the kind of honest, hard-hitting analysis one expects from a player who defined toughness on the field. The conversation is primed to be "fiery," with Richardson sharing his perspective on the team's struggles, the coaching decisions, and what it takes to build a winning culture from the ground up.

Richardson, who played during the successful Rex Ryan era, provides an invaluable veteran perspective, comparing the Jets' current struggles with their past playoff runs. He offers insights on current head coach Aaron Glenn's demeanor, the immense pressure of the New York market, and what truly made Darrelle Revis a generational talent—while also weighing in on the debate around Sauce Gardner. Richardson's presence adds the voice of a player who succeeded under high expectations, contrasting the current lack of winning and accountability in both New York football teams.
Former New York Jets fullback and Chiefs Ring of Honor member Tony Richardson joined BT & Sal to give a fiery, no-holds-barred take on the current state of New York football. Richardson, who played during the Jets' successful AFC Championship runs under Rex Ryan, offered a veteran's perspective, praising the current leadership of Aaron Glenn but cautioning that the pressure in New York "can crush you." He also didn't shy away from controversial topics, weighing in on Sauce Gardner by comparing him unfavorably to Darrelle Revis and critiquing the current struggles of the Giants' offense under Brian Daboll. Richardson concluded by detailing his post-NFL work with the NFL Legends Community, ensuring retired players make a smooth transition from the game.

Drop your take in the comments and make sure to subscribe so you never miss a show!Jeff Hostetler's legendary Super Bowl performance just got even more incredible — ESPN's Jordan Raanan uncovered that the QB played the NFC Championship, the Super Bowl, and the rest of his career without an intact ACL. That's the kind of toughness that lives in Giants lore forever. Meanwhile, over on ESPN's Get Up, Rex Ryan went off about the Broncos, saying it's time to bench Russell Wilson and start Jaxson Dart. Ryan insists Dart clearly outplayed Wilson in the preseason and needs to play now.The Giants made roster news too, claiming WR/KR Xavier Gipson. Gipson led the league in punt return average last year and adds explosive potential, but his 10 fumbles in 35 games raise major concerns. Injury updates add more drama: Malik Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, Andrew Thomas, and Rakeem Nunez-Roches are all managing issues, while Micah McFadden hit IR and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles popped up with a calf injury. Dexter Lawrence returned after missing Wednesday for the birth of his first child.Dallas isn't without their own setbacks — CB DaRon Bland will miss weeks, FS Malik Hooker is limited, and the Cowboys have multiple players on IR, including rookie RB Phil Mafah and CB Caelon Carson. Nolan McLean pitched well last night but the Mets offense has been horrible and couldn't score a single run. They are not winning the division now, we can only hope that they hang on and get into the Wild Card. JJ McCarthy and the Vikings came back in the fourth quarter to beat the Bears even though he played terribly for three quarters. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Mets losing 1-0. Gary, Keith and Ron talked about the Phillies always having ball-girls instead of ball-boys. We heard the sounds of the Vikings coming back to beat the Bears in Chicago. We also heard from McCarthy and Kevin O'Connell after the game. Brian Daboll confirmed Russell Wilson will start vs Dallas. Jerry had a quick preview of Jets/Bills for this weekend. In the final segment of the hour, Rex Ryan went after Mike McDaniel for being a ‘nerd boy'.
The Giants are not allowing Jaxson Dart to talk to the media which violates the NFL media policy. What are they worried about? If they don't want him talking or playing then make him the third quarterback. Larry from Indiana checks in as he's thrilled to have Daniel Jones on his team. A caller has had it with Mike Kafka and the Giants offensive scheme or lack thereof. We went over the spread for Giants/Cowboys and Bills/Jets. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Vikings coming back and beating the Bears in Chicago. We heard Brian Daboll talk about his confidence in Wilson at QB. We heard Rex Ryan call Mike McDaniel ‘nerd boy'. The Mets lost 1-0 in Philadelphia and Alvarez had a horrendous at bat to end the game. We heard a clip of Carmelo Anthony and his son talking about the different generations. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said he had no bets on the NFL games this past weekend and it wasn't so interesting to him. He can't just sit there and watch it without some action on the games. Gio said he has a hard time focusing on almost everything now.

Hour 3 We started the hour talking about a guy on social media who cleans up overgrown lawns for free. We also talked about the Vikings comeback win over the Bears last night as JJ McCarthy had a strong fourth quarter after doing nothing the first three. A caller said McCarthy reminds him of a young Tom Seaver (that's a joke callback on Boomer). Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Vikings win as we heard Kevin Harlan on the call. The fan that shoved Lamar Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins went on the local news with a neck brace on to apologize (it was actually a comedian pretending to be the fan and he fooled the local news). Mike McDaniel was asked about good things that happened for the Dolphins and it did not go well. In the final segment of the hour, Gio's bucket list golf courses and what kind of nasty crowd are we getting at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage. Hour 4 Today is Dick LeBeau's birthday and he got a birthday shoutout in Boomer's sports minute. Then we spent way too much time talking about him for some reason. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the final strikeout of Francisco Alvarez as the Mets lose to the Phillies 1-0. Mets are now 8 games out of a division they were up 7 games at one point. We almost had 2 no-hitters last night. Right now, there have been none this season. We heard the sounds of the Vikings coming back and beating the Bears last night. Bill Belichick said he's not welcome at the Patriots facility, but Mike Vrabel said he is welcome. The Moment of The Day: Boomer's a big edging guy. In the final segment of the show, Gio was thinking about ranch and how it's his favorite condiment. Boomer argues it's not a condiment. Gio said anything you can put a french fry in is a condiment.
Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley open the second hour with Mike’s battle plan for any rude train riders before they hear Sean Payton talking about his personnel packages, and it doesn’t sound like he’s budging on them. The run game was a hot topic for how little attention it got, they hear Mike McGlinchey talk about the issues the Broncos had on the ground. In Stoke’s Telestrator Tuesday he breaks down the constantly shifting personnel groupings that Sean Payton loves, is it a benefit to have it in the long run? Stoke also broke down Bo’s interceptions for some extra credit. The guys enter 4 Down Territory where Brian Daboll is already sick of Russ, Rex Ryan calls out a nerd, the Class of ‘24, and Peyton Manning putting a line out to the Pope.
