This is Matt Reustle. Today we are breaking down CompoSecure, a company that manufactures premium metal credit cards and payment cards. My guest is Parsa Kiai, Managing Partner at Steamboat Capital. What really made Parsa the ideal guest is that he has a history with CompoSecure from before the Dave Cote era, which started sometime in 2024. We get into all of this: the niche market of premium metal credit cards, how CompoSecure has such a dominant position in that industry, the opportunity in digital storage, and perhaps most importantly, what Dave Cote's involvement means for the company—his M&A track record and the unique corporate structure they've created. I often get asked what you can do with the lessons you take from business breakdowns, and this is a perfect example of taking the lessons and lens from other companies and looking for pattern recognition in the market. Please enjoy this Breakdown on CompoSecure.

What does it take to walk away from a stable career in engineering and build a boutique wealth advisory firm that manages hundreds of millions? In this episode, Chris and Saied sit down with Parsa Vahid, founder of Strand Life, to unpack that exact journey — from cold calls and 100% commission work to becoming the trusted financial strategist for high-net-worth families. Parsa shares how he navigated the pressure of legacy expectations, ditched a career that didn't fit, and leaned into building a firm that handles everything from investments and tax planning to estate structures designed to protect families from, well… their own kids.➡️ This one goes deep into the real mechanics of building wealth — not just for yourself, but for generations. You'll hear candid takes on how most advisors fall short, what red flags to watch out for, and why financial literacy gaps don't magically disappear when you hit seven figures. Whether you're trying to decide when to hire an advisor, how to leave your safe job, or what happens when you leave a windfall to someone wildly unprepared, this episode will make you think — and maybe even rethink your whole plan.

Given Osmosis from Elsevier's mission to educate the next generation of healthcare providers, it's fitting that our 500th episode of the Raise the Line podcast features a conversation with Parsa Mohri, a medical student at Acibadem University in Turkey. As you'll learn in this thoughtful interview with host Hillary Acer, Parsa applied a “Monday morning” test in choosing medicine as a career: what kind of job would he feel motivated to go to at the start of every work week for decades. “I picked medicine because I could find meaning and value in the work as well as enjoying it at the same time,” he explains. Parsa has also sought out meaningful roles on campus, including serving as a member of a committee that gathers feedback from students on the effectiveness of the education they are receiving and shares it with faculty. “This gives faculty a chance to offer any form of alternatives so when the next students come by, they will have a smoother and a more efficient education.” That drive to improve medical education also explains Parsa's involvement in the Osmosis Health Leadership Initiative where he is guiding and mentoring fellow medical students and helping to foster a supportive and inclusive learning community. Parsa is a great example of the many compassionate and creative medical learners we have featured throughout the 500 episodes of Raise the Line, and we hope to introduce you to many more inspiring future clinicians as the podcast continues.
