In 2005, Bill Heronomus stated Richard Patterson offered him $1,000 dollars to wear the Bigfoot costume in the 1967 footage of Bigfoot. I was convinced when I watched Bill walking outside of a restaurant and compared his walking stride to that of Bigfoot captured in the footage. Not only was the stride identical to Bigfoot, but the articulation from Bill's right knee to his ankle was the key that broke the camel's back. The footage was a hoax. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/michael-c-bouchard/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/michael-c-bouchard/support

Today's guest, Richard Patterson, is a husband and father of two children and also the owner and administrator of Preferred Care at Home of North Nashville, Sumner, and East Wilson Counties in Middle Tennessee. Richard's first opportunity to work with seniors was at the age of 14 when he worked through high school at an assisted living facility. Richard's love for that job began as serving and connecting with residents, giving him purpose and value during those sometimes uncertain teenage years. Host Mary Anne Oglesby-Sutherly and Richard take the time on this episode to express their heart-felt sentiments, their struggle and their likeness of compassion as they both give great service to the aging population and their caregivers. Richard's company, Preferred Care at Home, has many awards in the in-home care field. He and his team make it their utmost mission to provide excellence in care for families, and especially to those who require hands-on care daily. It is truly beyond the business of caregiving. https://preferhome.com/locations/davidson-and-sumner-counties/meet-the-team 615-319-3055 www.verandaministries.org

Full review of the Hobie Kayak Fishing Series at Bemm River February 29 - March 1. 2020 In this episode I cover all the relevant statistics to do with the 2020 Bemm River round. This was and still is the biggest round of the hobie kayak fishing series in Australia and turned out to be the only round held that year. First I spoke with Richard Patterson, we talked through his whole comeptition from prefish to leading after day 1 and finishing in third place. Richard shares how he dropped a fish that may have been enough to get him first. Then I spoke with Jason Deenan who came slid into second place. Jason also ran through his prefish and explained how it affected his planning for the competition. After having drive issues on the start line Jason was not able to reach his preferred location first. Jason explained how he recovered from this early set back. Jason covered lures, colours, techniques and structure types. I spoke at length with the winner Nick Mace who had an impressive win. Nick didn't hold back anything and shared everything that helped him win against a massive field. We discussed the lures and techniques that he used. Nick also spoke about staying in the same house as Richard and how they shared or didn't share information. I think you will find this very informative show that will help you to plan and catch more fish next time you visit Bemm River

This week we welcome Richard Patterson back to the podcast... We started with the standing stones, spoke about some of the excellent work done by Bruce Fenton and finished with trying to understand what is going on in the prophetic times we are all currently living in... Peppered of course with a bunch of other esoteric topics in between... As always an absolute pleasure to have Richard on the podcast, I look forward to the next one when we can catch up face to face. Enjoy.
Unlucky for some - not for lovers of the good things in life, Pod 13 features a Scotsman who’s spent a lifetime in the chilly, cold, mould-tinged warehouses of that country’s greatest distilleries. In a fascinating in-depth chat with Nick Hammond, Richard ‘The Nose’ Patterson tells of earliest memories of his father’s instructions on nosing and tasting the water of life; the beginnings of a famous nickname; insuring one’s nose for three million quid; whisky showmanship; the poignancy of opening and tasting a whisky that had lain for 100 year’s under Shackleton’s polar hut; an obsession with exact historical dates; a love of cigars; lining up a triumvirate visit to Havana; and a final, favourite, desert island distillery. Happy Friday, folks!
Attorney and Partner Chris Johnson talks to Richard Patterson, owner of Preferred Care at Home, about how the coronavirus has impacted the in-home care industry.
A Survey was done back in 1938 of Australia's Stonehenge whilst it was still standing... Those Survey documents were lost for 75 years until Richard Patterson discovered them back in 2013. To say the rediscovery of these documents is one of the most important finds in Australian archaeological history is not an understatement... It has given us a new understanding of the Indigenous culture of Australia and where they fit in to the Megalithic cultures around the globe. I sat down with Richard to discuss the facts, the fiction, the theories and the ideas that have come from researching the documentation and the surrounding area. Enjoy.
We are a species with amnesia... We are afraid of the things we don't understand and destroy them without proper thought... This unfortunately what happened to Australia's Stonehenge. However before it was destroyed some excellent work was done in the late 1930's by Frederick Slater and then rediscovered in 2013 by Richard Patterson when more work was undertaken... It's another example of singular people changing our understanding of history and for these types of people we must be forever thankful. Enjoy.
We sat down with Gregg Glass, one of the main figures in the Whyte & Mackay house, next to Richard Patterson. He's also the founder of Whisky Works, focussed on amazing small batches & progressive projects. We had this lovely chat before he gave a short masterclass and tasting @ Blacksmoke in Antwerp. Probably the most beautiful BBQ spot in Belgium.

Why does the myth of Narcissus continue to fascinate and provoke the contemporary artistic imagination? In what ways does classical mythology in general hold up a mirror to the anxieties and aspirations of the here-and-now? This lecture will address these and other questions relating to the enduring power of ancient myth – above all, the tales of metamorphosis contained in Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Writer and academic James Cahill will discuss how these stories have continued to infiltrate and inspire the art of the last hundred years, both overtly and in more oblique or unexpected ways, while also giving fundamental shape to modern literature and psychoanalysis. He will argue that Salvador Dalí’s iconic reimagining of the Narcissus myth stands at the crux between different modes of ‘response’ to the classical, looking simultaneously backwards (to the mythologizing paintings of the Renaissance, for instance) and forwards to the experiments of conceptual art and postmodernism – at once an illustration of the ancient myth and an enactment of its subliminal themes. Part of an exciting series of talks and events which coincide with ‘Freud, Dali and the Metamorphosis of Narcissus’ on display at the museum from 3 October 2018 – 24 February 2019. James Cahill is a writer based in London. He is the lead author of Flying Too Close to the Sun, a major new survey of classical myth in western art published by Phaidon in 2018. His book Ways of Being, an anthology of artists’ statements, was published this summer by Laurence King. In 2017 he completed a PhD at Cambridge University examining the relationship between contemporary British art and the classical tradition. He previously studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art and Oxford University. His writing has appeared in publications including Apollo, The Burlington Magazine, Elephant, The Erotic Review, Frieze, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The London Review of Books, and The Times Literary Supplement. He has authored or co-authored books on artists including Angus Fairhurst, Maggi Hambling and Richard Patterson, and has curated exhibitions at King’s College London and the Museum of Classical Archaeology, Cambridge. His PhD research led to a postdoctoral fellowship (2017-18) at King’s College London, where he helped to set up Modern Classicisms, a multidimensional research project exploring the connections between antiquity and modern art. Flying Too Close to the Sun, by Phaidon Editors, with an introduction by James Cahillis available from the Freud Museum Shop.

What does it mean for a musician to “think musical thoughts”? How does such thinking interact with processes that seem more like “feeling” than thinking? And how do both relate in real time to pre-established habits of thought and feeling, communal conventions regarding interpretation and performance, one’s own highly trained but flexible motor routines, and feedback from hearing oneself? We look at such questions (as time permits) from the perspective of music study, rehearsal and performance, especially in small ensembles, where awareness of other performers’ roles and a sense of the musical whole are additional crucial factors. Finally, how are all these factors coordinated in real time performance? Who or what—if anything--is in charge? October 16, 2014
