Sehr sehenswert!Gesehen auf MUBI.

Part of the mystique of Christianity is how at its core it is always open to anyone who will believe. In His own time, Jesus made space for the outcasts, the lowlifes, the unclean and ostracized, the traitors, the second-class citizens. People of all backgrounds knew they could come just as they were and find a friend in Jesus. He in turn invited them to become His disciples and change the world! So come as you are and encounter a life-changing relationship with Jesus! When we think of a river, we do not envision something that stays in one place. In fact, a river does not stand still - a river flows! In Ezekiel 47, God gives the prophet a vision of what happens when the river of forgiveness, healing, and hope flows out of the church. The Valley Church will be a river church. We will be on a mission. We will be a church in and for the community. Everywhere the River of God flows, even through desert regions and the farthest reaches of places long dead, there will be new life! Jesus Himself gives this living water that brings His life to the world. The Gospels of Luke and John both tell stories of Jesus directing fishermen to cast their nets into the water. Though these fishermen had been unsuccessful after much labor, after following Jesus' instruction their nets were full to overflowing. Where Jesus is, He brings life! When that life draws its nourishment from Him, it continues to flourish and does not fade. Our lives can be like this!

Some people wonder why we only have the Bible as the authoritative Word of God. Did God stop speaking after the book of Revelation? While the Early Church did close the Canon of Scripture in the early ADs, they would be the first to affirm that God still speaks to every believer by His Holy Spirit in them. And if God still speaks, and speaks to you and me, then what? Good question. Let's hear the message for help. When we think of a river, we do not envision something that stays in one place. In fact, a river does not stand still - a river flows! In Ezekiel 47, God gives the prophet a vision of what happens when the river of forgiveness, healing, and hope flows out of the church. Healthy living things reproduce. It's one of the laws of life, the scientific criteria by which they determine whether something is a living entity or an inanimate object. How much more should reproduction be part of the life – the new and greater life! – of the believer in Jesus?! In fact we are commissioned to go and make disciples: this is a replication process that is non negotiable. But what does that mean exactly? Check out the message to find out! In today's episode of Psych Talk I chat with Rachel Havekost, M.Sc, writer, speaker, mental health advocate, and author of Where the River Flows. Rachel starts the conversation by sharing what inspired her to write her memoir and the experience of being so open and vulnerable with the world. We then dive into a variety of topics related to the human experience, namely challenges that many individuals face throughout their lives. Rachel shares her personal journey with mental health, suicide, and therapy, and how she has worked through various experiences throughout her life. We also discuss divorce, the pandemic, and dating in your thirties, including the unique challenges each of those brings. Further, Rachel shares how can we face challenges in our lives and use them as tools for self-discovery and vulnerability, rather than roadblocks or pitfalls in our way.
