Mike embarks on the third volume of the 2017 Darth Vader comics; The Burning Seas, tackling plot points of Vader confronting Gial Ackbar & King Lee-Char on Mon Cala, hunting down an ex-jedi padawan, before he is then hunted by Tarkin and Annual 2 shows him discovering the true power of the Death Star, all in one great episode! Mike also gives more information on numerous connections including the inquisitorius, Mon Cala & their star cruisers, Tarkin and so much more – this is a must-listen for any fans of the Dark Lord or Star Wars in general! These comics are set just approximately 1 year after Revenge Of The Sith, in 18 BBY. All standard issues were written by Charles Soule, with Giuseppe Camuncoli as penciller, Daniele Orlandini as inker and David Curiel as colour artist for all issues excluding 16, as Java Tartaglia & Guru eFX are colourists on issue 16. Darth Vader Annual 2 was written by Chuck Wendig, with Leonard Kirk as penciller, Walden Wong & Scott Hanna as inkers and Nolan Woodard as colour artist. Issue 13 was released March 2018, issue 18 & Annual 2 were released July 2018, the trade paperback collection was released April 2018 and the hardcover of volumes 1&2 was released October 2018. The omnibus with all 2017 Vader comics will be released October 2021. This story is heavily linked to the 8th volume of 2015 Star Wars comics (Mutiny On Mon Cala) which are issues 44-49 and Mike tackled these on ep 48 of SWCIC. Mike tackled the first two volumes of 2017 Vader in ep 62 & 66 of SWCIC. For the 2015 Vader run (set after A New Hope), check out episodes 15, 17, 19, 23 & 29 of SWCIC, plus ep 41 features the Vader: Dark Visions anthology mini-series and ep 49 is the Target Vader mini-series. Charles Soule wrote the High Republic novel Light Of The Jedi as well as the following SW mini-series; Rise Of Kylo Ren (in ep 1 of SWCIC), Obi-Wan & Anakin (ep 11) and Lando (ep 18). Check out the last episode of SWCIC where Mike embarked on the final issues of the 2015 main Star Wars run of comics; Rogues & Rebels! In the finale, Luke recovers his lightsaber, Han is captured by Boss Carpo, Chewbacca goes head-to-head with Darth Vader and C-3PO makes some new friends, while Empire Ascendant's “An Echo Of Victory” provides a small window into the mindset of Poe Dameron's parents; Shara Bey & Kes Dameron! Plus Mike provides information on the Wampas of Hoth and some history of A-Wings! It's a rare treat to get a one-and-done story in any comic these days, yet that's exactly what we have in the pages of Marvel's Star Wars (Vol. 3) #12, as Leia Organa and Kes Dameron recount to each other how they fell in love with Shara Bey and Han Solo. It's a well-paced issue that lets Charles Soule revisit, in a sense, the ties between Poe Dameron and Gen. Organa in his Poe Dameron series, while also adding more background to the relationship between Poe's parents. It concludes nicely, setting the stage for the next chapter in the "Operation Starlight Arc."In news, we discuss recently announced plans for omnibus collections featuring Darth Vader (Vol. 2) as well as the Legends-era Rise of the Sith that collects several mini-series and stories published by Dark Horse Comics.Upcoming Star Wars comics include:March 17_ Bounty Hunters #10_ Star Wars Adventures #4_ The High Republic #1 (4th Printing)March 24 _ Doctor Aphra #8March 31 _ Star Wars Adventures #5_ The High Republic #2 (3rd Printing)_ The High Republic #3 (2nd Printing)April 7_ The High Republic #4 _ The High Republic Adventures #3_ Star Wars (Vol. 3), Vol. 2, “Operation Starlight” TPBApril 14 _ Bounty Hunters #11April 21_ Doctor Aphra #9April 28_ Darth Vader #11_ The Empire Strikes Back — The 40th Anniversary Covers by Chris Sprouse #1May 5 _ War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1_ War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 (Director’s Cut) _ The High Republic Adventures #4_ Guardian of the Whills: The Manga May 12 _ Star Wars #13_ The High Republic #5May 19 _ Bounty Hunters #12May 26 _ Darth Vader #12_ Doctor Aphra #10_ Star Wars Adventures: Weapon of a Jedi (1 of 2)_ Star Wars Adventures #9_ Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Old Republic, Vol. 4June_ War of the Bounty Hunters #1June 9_ Bounty Hunters, Vol. 2, “Target Valance” TPBJune 23 _ Star Wars Adventures (Vol. 2), “The Light & the Dark” TPB_ Darth Vader (Vol. 3), Vol. 2, “Into the Fire” TPBJuly 7_ Star Wars Legends: The Old Republic Omnibus Vol. 1_ The Phantom Menace Graphic Novel Adaptation from IDW Announced But as Yet Unscheduled Comics _ The Mandalorian titles from Marvel & IDW

The Mandalorian ended season one with a lot of storylines to pursue - some more obvious than others, of course. On today's episode of the show, I'll start by exploring the not-so-obvious ones, and then leading into the most obvious ones of all. Along the way, we'll also be exploring the possibility of appearances by other characters not named Ahsoka Tano (since we've kind of gone there already). Yes, Luke Skywalker himself is on this list, but the chances are slim. Better odds? How about Shara Bey - aka, Poe Dameron's mother. Best odds? Bo-Katan Kryze, the last known owner of the Darksaber before we see Moff Gideon with it at the end of season 1. Punch it! ***I'm listener supported! We are diving into the new Star Wars canon books with the Shattered Empire mini series. In this first issue, set immediately after the events of Return of the Jedi, we meet Shara Bey. Why is she important? Well, she is the bad ass mother of one Poe Dameron, that's why she's important.
