It all culminates to these moments. Everything we witnessed in season 1, and everything so far in season 2, all leads to what happens in these three episodes! Syril breaks under the tension of what's going on around him and all that he didn't know, and he blames Dedra for it all. Meanwhile she's struggling to make her own decision, follow Syril and his plight to help the townspeople of Ghorman, or stick to her orders and help the Empire devastate the planet. Andor takes a daring mission to save Mon Mothma after she gives a speech making her public enemy #1 as she labels Emperor Palpatine a monster to the galaxy. Together they race to flee Coruscant and it's a tense filled chase sequence! The rebellion is setting up on Yavin 4, tying everything in to Rogue One and A New Hope, and it's full of nostalgia. Star Wars and Superhero Ethics Crossover Episode: Andor Season 2While I try to keep the Star Wars Generations and Superhero Ethics podcasts separate, with Andor hitting so many of the themes we talk about on Superhero Ethics, I wanted to share our first episode about Andor Season 2 with you all.The hosts of Star Wars Generations dive deep into the first three episodes of Andor Season 2, which premiered with a triple-episode release. Matthew, Erin, and Alex explore how the show immediately establishes its political commentary and continues its unflinching portrayal of life under the Empire's fascist regime. What makes Andor Season 2 so politically charged?Within the first five minutes, the show tackles current political issues through its storytelling. The hosts discuss how the plot involving undocumented workers (referred to explicitly as not having "visas") on a farming planet directly parallels real-world immigration issues. The Empire's plan to exploit the planet Ghorman for resources regardless of environmental or human cost also serves as commentary on resource exploitation and colonialism. How does the show portray different facets of the Empire? The podcast hosts examine how the show depicts various characters within the Imperial system. From Dedra and Syril's domestic life to the cold Imperial board meetings with Krennic, the series demonstrates how ordinary people participate in and enable fascist regimes. The stark contrast between the comfortable lives of Imperial officers and the struggling rebels highlights the inequality within the Star Wars universe. What connections to the wider Star Wars universe appear in these episodes? The hosts identify several connections to the animated series Rebels, including Cassian stealing what appears to be a TIE Interceptor (a project championed by Grand Admiral Thrawn) and the mention of Ghorman (which Mon Mothma later condemns the Empire for abusing in Rebels). They theorize these connections may lead to appearances from characters like Thrawn or depict events referenced in other Star Wars media.Other topics discussed:The controversial scene involving attempted sexual assault against Bix and its portrayal of power abuse within the EmpireMon Mothma's storyline involving Chandrilan wedding traditions and her strained family relationshipsBrasso's death and the ambiguity around whether Andor was responsibleThe portrayal of squabbling rebel factions on Yavin 4 and what it says about resistance movementsThe parallels between the lavish Chandrilan wedding ceremony and the violence occurring simultaneously on other planetsDedra and Syril's domestic relationship and interactions with his motherThe Imperial strategy meeting discussing how to create justifications for destroying GhormanThe hosts conclude that while some storylines (particularly the Yavin 4 sequence) felt somewhat drawn out, the overall quality of the show remains exceptional. They express excitement about where the season is heading and how it will connect to the events of Rogue One, noting that these early episodes have already paid off some of their predictions while setting up compelling new storylines. **************************************************************************This episode is a production of Superhero Ethics, a The Ethical Panda Podcast and part of the TruStory FM Entertainment Podcast Network. Andor IS back! The latest from Disney+ and Star Wars is the highly anticipated follow up season to the critically acclaimed original. Disney+ has told us that this is the final season of Andor and it makes sense as we are roughly 4 years out from the events of the Battle of Yavin. The Battle of Yavin refers to the events at the end of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. We also know that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a direct lead in to A New Hope. Ambitiously this series has been dropping 3 episodes at a time, set about a year apart each. Tonight we're looking at the first 9 eps we've gotten so far and there is a TON to unpack! Just when you think you couldn't hate The Empire anymore Andor promises and delivers all new depths of loathing for Imperial scum!
The Empire commits the Ghorman Massacre, Mon Mothma makes a fateful speech, and Cassian Andor finds a new sidekick in the most recent batch of episodes from season two of Andor. We are covering “Messenger,” “Who Are You?” and “Welcome to the Rebellion” in this episode. In this fully armed and operational episode of Podcast Stardust, we discuss: Our non-spoiler thoughts on these three episodes of Andor, The Ghorman Massacre, Cassian Andor's mission to Ghorman, Syril Karn's realization as to what the Empire was actually up to on Ghorman and his reaction, Dedra Meero's response to Syril Karn, The Rebellion setting up their headquarters on Yavin 4, Mon Mothma's speech in response to the Ghorman Massacre, The “birth” of K-2SO, and more. For more discussion of season two of Andor, check out episode 881. Thanks for joining us for another episode! The third act of Andor's second season begins with a sight for sore eyes--the base on Yavin 4! We're even closer to the rebellion as we know it in the original trilogy. It wasn't sad to rewatch A New Hope knowing how many sacrifices were made to get Luke and Leia (and Han) into the fray. Rogue One will also have new layers. The stage is being set in Palmo, as is the trap. The Ghorman aren't even aware of the intricate web of lies woven in their midst, but the threads have been plucked and the town square will soon be vibrating with action. Dedra Meero is bucking for a promotion. Syril doesn't want to believe the rumors but can't help but believe his own eyes. Cassian gets pulled back in by Wilmon. The Force awakens on Yavin. What a ride we've been on to get to "Messenger" and we're close to a pivotal moment in rebel history. This is the Way Podcast HQ is working hard to get these recap and discussion podcasts out before next week because there are some events taking place Tuesday that may forever alter a family in Florida. There's a lot of sadness and a lot of fear. The dark side cannot win the war. It's winning far too many battles lately. If you have an episode specific comment, send it in to the email address we reveal in our podcasts. Make sure to leave a good subject line for us so we know what episode and let us know what you'd like us to call you if we mention your message. There are other ways to interact with This is the Way Podcast, like via Instagram or 'X' @ThisistheWayPod or on Spotify, YouTube, and Facebook! May the Force be with us!

Andor's second season debut episode drops us off a year later in the Andor timeline and a year closer to A New Hope. "One Year Later" seems like a fitting title. The previous podcast episode gives the host's first impressions on the 4 BBY story arc...sorry, BBY 4 story arc. This episode is just about one of those parts, the first one, episode one of season two.We express our appreciation of Kleya Marki, laugh at the rebels formerly led by Maya Pei on Yavin 4, worry for the Ghorman people and their world wide webs, and get prepared for Imperial bureaucracy on Mina-Rau.Episodes 2 and 3 will get recaps and discussions at a later date, but life events at This is the Way HQ are going to make things tricky this week. If you have an episode specific comment, email it to the address we reveal in our podcasts and put the particular episode in the subject line.If you just want to interact with This is the Way Podcast, you can do so via 'X' and Instagram @ThisistheWayPod or on Facebook, YouTube and Spotify! How do you know you are fighting a war correctly? How do you overcome impossible odds? How bad is Ezra Bridger at deception? In this episode of Dark Side Divas, we discuss Star Wars Rebels, which is "In The Name Of The Rebellion Part 1" (s4e3). Our favorite chosen family has arrived at Yavin 4, and Mon Mothma has a mission for them, but someone else decides to mess everything up. Listen to find out what the divas have to say!
In Episode 134, hosts Alyce and Laura are back* with more absurd segues to discuss all the ongoings in the world of Star Wars!Is it still fancy if the debutante ball is BYOB?Pedophile is out, Meemaw is in. This is about eyewear. More tales to come! Tales of the Underworld means more Asajj Ventress and more Asajj Ventress means more happy fans (it's us, we're the happy fans).Rogue One was almost ten years ago. That sentence sucks, right? Time is crazy. Credit where credit is due: we have a lot of Star Wars content - including Andor - because of The Mandalorian (via Empire Magazine)Disney went full HBO-mode with the episode lengths for Andor season 2 (via Bespin Bulletin) Sorry, Matt Damon is not going to be in Star Wars. But Not-Matt-Damon is maybe going to be in Star Wars? Publishing is out here giving away their pie with breakfast (is that SNL reference too old?) (via starwars.com)Star Wars is just messing with us now with all these Vader stories. It's starting to feel like a personal attack. Something, something Plagueis theoryDon't you love it when we talk about an event that is happening soon but forget to say WHEN and WHERE during our discussion? We never claimed to be pros at this. Fortunately, Gizmodo has the details about the original Star Wars screening. Recap on Tap: Alyce shares a brief, spoiler-free review of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, then Alyce and Laura share some initial thoughts on The High Republic: Into the Light and its… uh… let's say, interesting early tone shift. Star Wars has a weird obsession with giving women metal mid-sections, and for that we ask… why? Interpol may have an APB out on Laura. So if you see her, no you didn't. On todays episode, we delve into Fear and Loathing in the Adjudicator's toybox. We dedicate the episode to the tragic loss of James Earl Jones. We discuss how the more Disney tightens its grip, the more people hate bomb the newest Snow White trailer...hey, they broke a YouTube record! Gabe takes out the Riddler faster than Batman ever did. The Joys of being an 80's "Latch-Key Kid". The case of Jack versus the Giant. Hero, or serial killer? The Adjudicator crosses legal blades with Play-Doh. The Acolyte, like the Sith, is shrouded in mystery, but Hayley and Brian are here to help try and bring SOME clarity. It is set in 132 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), which is 100 years before The Phantom Menace, and one of the only known characters set to appear in The Acolyte is Vernestra Rwoh, a 116-year-old Mirialan Jedi, who was granted the title of Jedi Knight at age 15 in The High Republic multimedia series. Oh, and her lightsaber also turns into a lightwhip! They discuss the junior novel "A Test of Courage" which heavily features Vernestra, and also speculate about what to expect this season. Also, Brian gets spoiled about a character's appearance in the show when he has to look something up in the cast list on Wookieepedia. Star Wars Timeline & Watch Order in 60 Seconds Full Episode: https://mostlysuperheroes.com/season-5-blogcast/star-wars-timeline-amp-watch-order-may-the-4th-2024 There are 220+ titles in the Star Wars Canon that include: 110 books, 79 comics, 12 games, 12 tv series, and 12 movies (plus Galaxy's Edge and honorable non-canon mention the Star Wars Holiday Special!) This podcast episode of Mostly Superheroes is a resource to provide a guideline for watching / reading Star Wars titles in the timeline order according to Star Wars canon. The term ‘Star Wars canon' refers to the collection of Star Wars media considered officially canon by Lucasfilm. We quickly reveal all canonical titles in this podcast episode and explain where those titles fall in the greater Star Wars story being told from the beginning of time to the very end. We will focus on the TV and Film as it is what we all experience most, but we will still highlight some book, video games, and reveal the overall Star Wars timeline. We are by far not the first to do this and we leaned heavily on the following resources to produce this episode. Welcome to the latest episode of The Florida Project – the podcast where Disney fans celebrate Walt Disney World and all things Disney! In this episode of the Florida Project, we'll discuss some nonsense in small topics, the Hidden Mickey segment returns, and then we'll discuss the latest Disney news from the last few weeks.! All of that and more is coming up in this week's episode of The Florida Project!-- Recorded on March 2, 2024Small TopicsOne of George Lucas's major influences when making Star Wars was from the novel Dune by Frank Herbert. If you had to live on a single-ecosystem planet, which of the following would you choose: desert (Arrakis, Tattoone), industrial/city (Giedi Prime, Coruscant), forest/jungle (Pandora, Yavin), or tundra (Hoth, Jotunheim)Would you rather have the ability to force people to do what you want them to do like using The Voice™ in Dune or The Force™ in Star Wars or the ability to see into possible futures? If you were in a situation where you were faced with the choice of becoming a galactic emperor or not becoming a galactic emperor, what would you do? Would you be a good emperor or a bad emperor and do you think you'd enjoy it? Hidden Mickey (Mouse)Mickey seems like he is moving both quickly and slowly at the same time, while also being high and low. His view is magical, his surroundings are compact, and his journey is relaxing. However, even Mickey knows what happens if he and his companions are forced into a corner.Discussion TopicDisney News RoundupUpcoming EpisodesTBD (next week)PlugsJason: @Schmuck00Will: @ThyWillBDunnMichael: @MichaelMcDuckSite: http://www.tfppodcast.comTwitter: @tfp_podcastInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/tfppodcastPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/tfppodcastSupport the show
