This was a long episode. Oh, of the podcast? Sure, but wow this one would have had to have been cut down in the days of broadcast television watching. In these streaming days, well, no such trouble. How do the helmets of the Children of the Watch relate to the numbers given to officers under the amnesty of the New Republic? Well, we don't want to talk faces and names because then we have individualism and these groups are more into the "collective" style. What's with the yellow travel biscuits? Is there some old magic in that living water because it sure does look shimmery and glimmery when it hits the forging vats. Rodian and Mon Cala sightings? Check. Darksaber ignition? Well, no, but it is on the belt. Space battles? Yep! Leaps of faith? You betcha. Mindflaying? Nah, bruv...this here is a 602 Mitigator. I can see how you'd make that mistake, though. Is that U-mah-tay or U-mait? Ah, well, it has to be Benduday somewhere, am I right? Maybe I should check to make sure the rotations are the same on this here star chart to secret coverts of the galaxy... This is the third reaction and discussion podcast for This is the Way Podcast this season and next week we're talking about what it means to be a foundling. Seriously! We buck convention and produce a recap podcast that is shorter than the source material this week! Closing Crawl produces propaganda for the monarchy this week, in exchange for a boatload of eels as we put another squid on the barbie and heads down under the sea. There is dissension on Mon Cala between the "aggressive squid-like Quarren" and "their peaceful neighbors the Mon Calamari". The Mon Calamari king of the planet has been assassinated, and his son, Prince Lee-Char, is young and untested. The Quarren indicate a preference for self-determination, but the Mon Calamari let them know rules are rules, and the rules are male-line primogeniture. With civil war now inevitable (question mark?), the Republic sends a clone company led by Kit Fisto and Ahsoka Tano. But the Quarren, backed by Dooku and the Separatists attack first! Tamson tries to kill Lee-Char and fails, and the Quarren retreat for the day. But then they come back with their new super-weapon, Hydroid Medusae! Which are giant cyborg jellyfish. The Mon Calamari cannot beat electrical tentacles, so they retreat to a cave system.Chocki is getting chewed out by Dooku for letting Lee Char escape because the writers room doesn't understand ‘show, don't tell'.  Dooku then advocates for internment camps for the Mon Cal in a direct ball kicking to our theory of moral equivalence between the Republic and Separatists.  Kit Fisto requests help from his own Space Time (™) with Mace and Yoda.  Ackbar continues to Peter Principle poor Lee Char and somehow everyone is cool with that.  Meanwhile Yoda stumbles on the idea of conscription, and Obi Wan suggests the Gungans because he's petty.  Kit Fisto uses the dreaded rear admiral on some Quarren to steal their mini sub for his less moist peers.   Lee Char goes into hiding.  The Gungans are concerned, but Jar Jar convinces everyone that Padme ‘helped' them suggesting that Gungans are part goldfish, and they promptly decide to jump into the meat grinder of Padme's poor judgment. Kit Fisto is excited to see Gungans because it means the post victory orgy just got interesting.  I can't think of any other reason anyone would be relieved to see Gungans.  Chocki uses a cyclone in a bottle from the local children's museum to brutalize the Mon Cal and Gungan forces.  Everyone but Ahsoka and Lee Char are captured.  We open on Padme, Jar Jar, Anakin, and Kit Fisto being interrogated by Biff Tannen, er, Riff Tamson.  The prince and Ahsoka come up with a plan to free the prisoners.  Meanwhile, Tamson breaks Padme's helmet to encourage Anakin to talk.  The prince believes that Ri will join the Mon Cal to overthrow the separatists and Tamson… and he's right.  At just the right time, the Quarren, Mon Cal, Gungans, and clones all fight back against the droids and sharks.  The prince kills Tamson by shooting an explosive he stuck in his shoulder… and OH GOD!!!  That's a floating, decapitated head!?! The Clone Wars: Season 4 Episodes 1, 2 and 3: https://www.disneyplus.com/video/0118dfcf-cb59-44eb-bb93-15888e9cb8a6https://twitter.com/ClosingCrawlhttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/closing-crawl/id1530133296https://www.closingcrawl.com/On YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCz9X-57K6-VV_GkUBaqvyeAMerch: https://bit.ly/spacetimetm

Surf's up! The first arc of Season 4 of the Clone Wars has our faves swimming with the fishes. We're introduced to yet another teenage monarch — Prince Lee-Char — who's navigating a civil war between the Mon Calamari and Quarren and orchestrated, as always, by Count Dooku. Kit Fisto is glorious, Padmé and Anakin are mostly there to be threatened with drowning, Ahsoka does Anakin's job from Attack of the Clones ten times better than he ever did, and the Gungans absolutely saved the day. In a special segment, we also answer a burning question left over from the Ahsoka Hunted arc: What happened to the Force-sensitive younglings abandoned to be hunted by the Trandoshans, Jinx and O-Mer? Watching along with us? Next week, we're hanging out with the Gungans again in “Shadow Warrior” (The Clone Wars 4.4). --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/growingupskywalker/message

For the first time ever, the Backlotboys are recording LIVE from the Disneyland Resort in Sunny (but chilly) Anaheim, California! This is a two-part podcast, blended into one with the first segment recorded at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and the second from inside Galaxy's Edge. During the first 20 minutes we go over hopes, dreams, expectations of the new Star Wars-themed land; the remaining 20 includes our reactions to the new land and everything that goes with it! We discuss everything from blue milk to restroom cleanliness as we navigate the mean streets of Black Spire. Watch Goodtimeswithscar roll into Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities where he is appointed the fabled Dual-phase Sith lightsaber. Two, red Kyber Crystals illuminate his Diatium-powered combat noodle, and there is no telling how many of those still hiding out on Mon Cala will suffer as Goodtimeswithscar wields this terrible swift sword. Is Smugglers Run accessible? YES! Listen and find out how the Disneyland version of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run accommodates those needing a little extra time boarding and de-planing the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. Whether your destined to be a pilot, gunner, or ship engineer, there is a role and requirement for everyone contracted by Hondo Ohnaka himself. Speaking of Hondo, is it me, or does it seem like it'd itch to have those horns protruding from your jaw area? We dined on the finest, dodged the imperialist, and froze our rumps off to bring to you a live, on-site podcast from the Black Spire Outpost. The least you could do, in the comments, is let us know which Star Wars character (from A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) Goodtimeswithscar most closely resembles!

Season 1 of the Canon Cantina was focused on exploring the journey of Luke Skywalker through both Canon and Legends materials. We sought to explore the question "who IS Luke Skywalker?" by comparing the two different storylines in the time leading up to Episode IX. Now that the Skywalker Saga is complete, we have expanded the scope of the show beyond Luke Skywalker. Everything after our Force Awakens-style soft reboot can be found in Season 2. Cheers, and may the Force be with you! ___________________________________ Apologies again for the delay, but there is light at the end of the tunnel - our summer slowdown is almost over! This week we continue with Marvel's current comics run and get to talk about everyone's favorite fishy admiral in Mutiny at Mon Cala! ____________________________ Join Star Wars fanatics, Mike and Jesse each episode as we breakdown the character & development of Luke Skywalker throughout both Legends and the Disney canon. We'll do our best to connect the dots of Luke's adventures through Legends/the old Expanded Universe to find out how he differs from the current canon hero, and debate which version would make The Last Jedi better.
