Dan also holds a Master's degree in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT), which helps to teach adaptive life skills to those dealing with vision loss. Keep Pushing is a non-profit that combines Dan's two passions by introducing the blind/visually impaired (VI) community to the inclusive culture of skateboarding. Through his own journey with vision loss, Dan has found the lack of accessibility in current skateparks. The goal of his foundation is to build the first fully adaptive skatepark and to host skateboard workshops for the blind and VI using what he has learned on the skateboard and through his VRT training. Dan has teamed up with an experienced skatepark design company, New Line. Using New Line's design expertise and Dan's knowledge of adaptive skating to create the safest and most accessible skate park ever! Using adaptive methods, such as increasing the size of obstacles, adding contrast to obstacles, tactile ground, auditory cues for echolocation, 3-D models, and a spacious layout. Once the facility is built Dan plans to host monthly skate workshops and skateboard lessons for local youth/adults who are blind and VI, annual adaptive contests to help push for skateboarding the Paralympics, as well as use park adaptations to influence future public skateparks. Jala is joined by John Hutchison and Slade Eide-Ettaro to discuss The Batman (2022). FOR THE RECORD, the Batnipple was freed in the Val Kilmer version BEFORE the George Clooney version (the nipples were more heavily emphasized in the Joel Schumacher film). Jala, Slade and John were ALL correct. We were remiss in that we neglected to mention the Batsnuggy™. At one point during the film Batman pulls out a wingsuit that for all the world resembles a Snuggy™ and jumps off a building. This moment consistently makes Jala burst into uproarious laughter. It is an accurate, researched depiction of wingsuiting but looks very silly to her. Although the scene is short, it lives on forever in our hearts. See a short clip behind the movie scene here (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0fEqY-kFQ78). UPDATE: You can purchase a Batsnuggy™ on Amazon (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B007RHGRVU/)! Thanks for the tip, Ryzana! NOTE: Fireheart Media does NOT endorse jumping off of buildings in this Snuggy™. Note: this episode is marked "explicit" as there is occasional cursing. We may have forgotten about the supply-chain debacle inflicted by the infamous ship that became trapped in the Suez Canal this past spring, but those manufacturers with goods aboard haven't.Companies with products aboard the Ever Given in March are still awaiting their goods. And while the cargo ship may not be immobilized, those companies continue to sit in limbo — with their products and money hanging in the balance. An Egyptian court impounded the Ever Given following the filing of a $916 million compensation claim by the Suez Canal Authority against the ship's owner. As a result, the ship is stuck once again, but this time, it's trapped in the Great Bitter Lake amid the legal battle.Unfortunately, the waiting might not be the worst of it. According to a report by CNN Business, companies such as IKEA, Lenovo, Snuggy and many more may also have to pay to settle the financial obligations of the ship due to an ancient maritime law principle called “General Average.”

Over here with bread for a year and additionally a few bonus bits, songs, and tags. We're going to close out 2019 and trepidatiously yet confidently step into 2020 with laughter. Laughter and music. That's what I do. Some drinking (...and remember, driven2drink is not about alcohol, really. The concept is...that which drives you to do or drink or take or embark upon the things that help you to find internal peace and homeostasis even in the midst of existential crisis or whatever daily travails you endure and/or obstacles impede you. You may be driven to have some herbal tea, listen to smooth jazz very loudly, and snuggle with your angora rabbit in a hooded Snuggy. That's YOUR driven to drink. And for me? Here? Laughter and music are the things to which I return. And also alcohol. And other things...) and a lot of singing and laughing and consuming soulful aural art. Anyway, you should hang out. Have some fun with us. Listen to some music. And while you're doing it, engage in the thing to which you are driven to find inner calm, if only for a few. (Wait, what if Driven2Drink were your "drink?" That'd be wonderful, really.) Love yinz! -G

Little tips can save you big at home. Get some money savings tips and find out if anything you’re doing now would cause Matt to punch you in the face. People love numbered lists and we found a good one giving tips on ways to save money on energy costs around the house. Most of the savings are small but can add up over time and many of the tips are pretty simple to accomplish. We picked out a few good ones for you. Your house doesn’t need to fill like the tropics in the winter or the Arctic in the summer. In the winter, set your thermostat at 68 during the day and 60 at night. For every degree it’s set below 70, you will save 3% of your heating bill. Put on an extra sweater, or if you have no pride or no shame, a Snuggy. In the summer, keep the temperature between 75-78. For every degree you raise the temperature, it will result in a 5% savings. Invest in a Nest, it’s a programmable thermostat that you can control via your phone. Turn your water heater down to 120 degrees. You don’t need to take a scalding hot shower. And it should be a shower, not a bath. A bath uses more water. Unless you like to indulge at the end of a long work day by soaking in a candle lit bath while catching up on the latest episode of Listen, Money Matters. Then you get a pass. This one is my favorite. Use a slow cooker. They are 75% more energy efficient than the oven or stove top. Don’t be put off by those nasty slow cooker dishes people used to bring to pot luck dinners in the 80’s. Slow cooking has come a long way. I use mine once a week and a can of cream of mushroom soup has never been involved. They also don’t heat up the kitchen in summer the way the oven does. As they burn out, replace your old light bulbs with compact fluorescent lights. The CFL’s cost more, but are more energy efficient and last up to ten times longer than old fashioned bulbs. If you have a swimming pool, it doesn’t have to be a money pit. Check out Matt’s site Swim University for ways to save money on your pool costs this summer including using a solar cover, running your pump after 9:00 pm, and using a robot pool cleaner. Spend a few hours around your home to improve it’s energy efficiency and you’ll save the environment and yourself a few dollars.
