For UK alternative metal band, Acres, 2025 has already been a significant year, and their momentum shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Not only are they due to head back to the US for a massive tour with The Devil Wears Prada but they will release their brand-new album, ‘The Host', on May 2nd. 2025, via Solid State Records. The US is becoming a bit of a second home for the band, as not only were they recently there touring with The Plot in You, but in October 2024, they hopped over the pond to record become ‘The Host'. This with none other than The Plot in You frontman Landon Tewers behind the board as producer. Acres has always strived to create something fresh and new, and that is once again proven by this new album. An album that sees the band expand their sonic palette and deliver some of their most anthemic music yet. We delved into the background of the album, learning more about the creative journey Acres have been on, and what Landon Tewers was able to get out of them. We also talk about the US tours, their growth, personal satisfaction with what they're doing right now, and so much more. We had the pleasure of interviewing The Ongoing Concept over Zoom video! We The band — brothers Dawson Scholz [vocals, guitar], Kyle Scholz [vocals, keys, percussion], and Parker Scholz [drums] along with TJ Nichols [vocals, bass], and Andy Crateau [vocals, guitar] — have released their fourth album Again, out via Solid State Records. Not only is this the first taste of new music from the band since 2017 but it also marks the return of the original lineup."'Unwanted Again' was one of our favorites to write and record," states Dawson. "Being fans of bands like Cory Wong, Dirty Loops, Don Broco, and Vulfpeck, we found ourselves incorporating a lot of groovy elements to this album, and this song really showcases that. It was also fun to bounce vocals back between TJ and I. For longtime fans of our band, we added some subtle references to our song 'Unwanted'; not only in the song, but in the music video as well. Being our second single and coming after a heavy hitter like 'Prisoner Again,' I think this song showcases the variety we put into this album."The Ongoing Concept emerged with the now-seminal Saloon back in 2013. On its heels, fan favorite Handmade bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Christian Albums Chart in addition to cracking the Top 30 of the Top Independent Albums Chart. In its wake, Kyle, Parker, and TJ departed, leaving Dawson as the sole original member for Places in 2017. As The Ongoing Concept went dormant, the group's catalog continued to react with listeners as the likes of "Cover Girl" clocked over a million Spotify streams and counting. After a period of quiet, communication mended between Dawson and his brothers Kyle and Parker. Between careers, marriages, and kids, they kicked around the idea of playing together once more."We'd been playing music since we were six-years-old," notes Dawson."We lived and breathed the same band together. It's crazy, because I didn't know my brothers outside of music. Taking a break for a few years, we found who we were as normal people and embraced other interests. It was super healthy for all of us. One day, we were hanging out, and I said, 'You know I've been working on some little skeletons for songs,' and it made sense. The only reason we got back together was because we had our time apart."They self-produced Again and took their time. The Ongoing Concept integrated "lyrics and Easter Eggs" from previous albums into the record's framework, embodying the title quite literally. We want to hear from you! Join Jeremy and I as we catch up with each other from the last time Jeremy was on the podcast almost 6 years ago. We get into what has changed with the band, and more specifically Jeremy in that time. From being just signed to Solid State Records and looking forward to touring more full time, to now where the band has release a full length and a new EP, and what lies ahead for the band. We discuss coming to the realization that something might be reaching its end, or at the very least that you've taken it as far as it can go, finding happiness in the journey while still being motivated to create something new. We also get into Jeremy's experience during the pandemic, which saw both of his career paths come to quick halt. How made him start doing vocal covers to showcase his influences as well as his producing talents. Getting more into Tik Tok and the growth he's seen from doing that. We also get into if Jeremy ever sees himself moving away from South Dakota, the pros and cons to living somewhere remote and we tackle the biggest question.....will he ever shave the mustache and how it's become such an identifying part of the band itself and more. His name is Ryan “Tuck” O'Leary, and he loves being the bassist of Fit For A King. The new album, “The Hell We Create,” showcases the band's best work to date. Tuck talks to IUF about the recording process that challenged him, along with his bandmates, to turn this 7th record into a release to remember. The ups, the downs, and the challenges were there for the band in recent years; results have shown on an emotional and powerful outing. There's a level of nobility here, as Fit For A King has officially cemented themselves as one of the heavy hitters in the metalcore game, and Tuck knows that. Standing on the stage, and performing for the fans who have shown up and shown out throughout the band's career in his eyes has given Tuck a level of appreciation. The fact he gets to do this for a living gives this gig a whole new level of gratitude. “The Hell We Create” is also the band's deepest and most personal record they've ever written, and Tuck talks about his relationship with frontman Ryan Kirby and how his personal experiences have brought the band together more than ever – a unit with uncanny chemistry, on the stage and off. Lastly, we also talk to Tuck about his own podcast show titled “Get Tucked,” and the story of being a co-founder of Featured X. He may be a talented musician in one of the hardest working bands today, but never forget that he is always a fan first. And the passion runs deep. Tune in now with our conversation with Tuck and be sure to buy and stream the new album “The Hell We Create,” from Texas-based band Fit For A King, out now worldwide via Solid State Records.Stay connected with Fit For A King, visit: https://fitforakingband.com/, https://www.facebook.com/fitforakingband/ and https://www.instagram.com/fitforakingtx/Stay connected with IUF, visit: https://interviewunderfire.com/

Fit For a King is one of the most successful bands in the modern era of Solid State Records since their signing in 2012. They have worked incredibly hard to build the band's following in both the physical & digital realms. They come from a long history of shared values & sounds with other Solid State bands and have integrated well into the larger metalcore scene. They continue to build a presence in the even wider space of metal in the digital space. Ryan Kirby is the lead vocalist, lyric writer and co-manager of the band, and I think you will find this conversation to an illuminating perspective into his mindset and why it all works so well
If you've heard Fit For A King's new album The Hell We Create, you know it's musically and thematically heavy. After listening to this episode, you'll understand why. Ryan Kirby has been fronting the Texas-based metalcore band since 2010. With his vocals at the helm, Fit For A King has become one of Solid State Records' flagship bands, known for punishing breakdowns and live shows to match. Although they've never shied away from heaviness — musically or thematically — their new album The Hell We Create takes the weight to the next level. In this episode, you'll hear about the journeys into various kinds of hells that fueled the band's most vulnerable and visceral album yet. From facing his wife's near-death experience, to vicarious trauma through adopting children, to enduring years without live music due to the pandemic, Ryan Kirby has been to countless personal lows in the last two years. The album and this conversation map the way through that pain — and the way out.Stream Fit For A King's The Hell We Create: https://ffak.ffm.to/thehellwecreate This show is sponsored by lifeaudio: https://www.lifeaudio.com/ If you're struggling and in need of support, visit:HeartSupport: www.heartsupport.comDeath2Life: https://d2lrevolution.com Teen Hopeline: http://www.teenhopeline.com/Beneath the Skin: https://www.beneaththeskinonline.org/ To Write Love On Her Arms: https://twloha.com/find-help/ Follow Fit For A King:Official website: https://www.kaylastoecklein.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fitforakingtx/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fitforakingband YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/FitForaKing/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@fitforaking_band For more Trevor Talks:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4QvmLXo8mrOvlpfIZIgwBUApple Music: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/trevor-talks/id1513832599 Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5idXp6c3Byb3V0LmNvbS8xMTEwNzc5LnJzcw== Instagram: http://instagram.com/trevortalkspodcast Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trevortalkspodcast

This week, we're joined by musician and vocalist, Dawson Scholtz! The Ongoing Concept is one of the most interesting bands on Solid State Records, and a personal favorite of Sam's. In this episode, Dawson talks life in a family gospel band, writing music and touring with his brothers in TOC while they were still very young, and some of the weird things about being perceived as a Christian band. The Ongoing Concept is currently working on a new album, and they're gearing up for a west coast tour in November! For more information, follow them on Instagram and TikTok (@theongoingconcept).

Furnace Fest means so much to so many different people. From the bands who performed, to the fans who attended. All voices in the Labeled community have truly gathered around this Festival in a deeply meaningful way. Today we're talking to Jason Zeimet, founder of UnoriginalVinyl, frequent collaborators on physical media projects with Solid State & Tooth & Nail, and former T&N/SS Director of A&R Chad Johnson about a timeless, totally unique project. In this intimate, vulnerable chat, the guys detail the process of creating DEAD ALIVE, a limited edition, hardcover, foil stamped, 200-page coffee-table book they have created that captures the electrifying photographic history and "direct-from-the-fan & band" accounts of the most uniquely-spirited music gathering in the last 20+ years. There is a very limited amount of these books available so you'll want to make sure you head to Unoriginal Vinyl at 12 EST on Wednesday, 8/17 to grab a copy before they're gone: https://unoriginal-vinyl.myshopify.com/ 32 EXTREMELY limited edition “alternate cover” exclusive vinyl versions of the three UOV Furnace Fest 2021 releases will also be put up with the book, in partnership with Solid State Records.

his conversation with Kevin Klein from Valleyheart is a great look at how a modern artist sees the landscape today, and in what ways some things always stay the same in the midst of constant change. The one trend that continues to grow is the amount of control artists have over more and more layers of their art form, and why having clear vision and identifying constraints seems to matter more than ever. Valleyheart has a brand new Tooth & Nail album called Heal My Head out now, and its a terrific listen. The Ongoing Concept is one of the most DIY bands in the Tooth & Nail/Solid State catalog, and they have achieved many innovative things like building their own instruments from scratch. The journey they have been on has been shaped by those that came before, but is a long quest for the artist to have as much creative control as possible. That desire to control everything has disadvantages too and this all makes for a very interesting conversation with band leader Dawson Scholz. In this episode, we get the chance to to talk about a bunch of people in the Labeled universe through the perspective of Seth Roberts whose band Watashi Wa is back and doing big things. Watashi Wa has a new album out on Tooth & Nail on which Seth has pulled together some awesome collaborations. Not only do they have a new record coming out, but they are also on the west coast leg of LABELED FEST for which Seth is working on the the art team to do all the tour visuals and design work. Matt has known Seth since the first Tooth & Nail Tour in 2004, and Seth has always been a great connector of people in every environment he is in. That has led him to a rich set of experiences. Steve and Ben from Wolves At The Gate have been at this game for a long time, and their band is continually gaining momentum, skill, fans, press coverage & relationships. With the release of their 5th album, Eulogies, they are seeing the compounding rewards of those efforts. The band has been able to maintain a clear vision and knows exactly who they are. Their sound and approach to ministry have been unwavering, yet their music progresses. They remain DIY and hands-on in their organization. They seem to have made the transition from a new & upcoming Solid State band to what you would call a veteran, influential Solid State act. This episode is a continuation of the previous Haste The Day chapter with Jimmy Ryan, who was not a Tooth & Nail kid but found his way into the scene. Jimmy helped build a legendary Solid State band and then walked away from his dream. This left a giant hole which provided the opportunity for a Tooth & Nail kid if there ever was one, the multi-talented Stephen Keech, to walk into to a fairytale dream-come-true scenario and knock it out of the park - taking Haste The Day to an even higher level of success.
