Ever since El Chapo's arrest and extradition to the United States, there has been infighting within the Sinaloa cartel. The Mexican cartels started out as nothing more than a transportation service for the Colombian kingpins. However, as time went on and the playing field changed, things started to evolve in a different direction. Fast Forward a couple of decades and the Mexican cartels have flipped the whole script and not only are they in charge of trafficking the white gold, they are also involved in its production and to do this, they have set up shop in Colombia. In this episode, we take a look at the siutation in Colombia and how the Mexican cartels, namely the Sinaloa cartel, have been able to solidify their position inside of the country. A scenario that would have been laughable in the past, is now a reality. Attorney General Merrick Garland says Mexican drug cartels unleashed the fentanyl crisis on the U.S. "on purpose," and urged the Mexican government to "do more" to combat drug trafficking.Garland made the statement while testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., pressed Garland regarding the opioid epidemic, highlighting that fentanyl is responsible for more deaths than guns and car accidents."It's a horrible epidemic, but it's an epidemic that's been unleashed on purpose by the Sinaloa and the new generation Jalisco cartels," Garland said.Graham then pressed Garland about what Mexico was doing to combat drug trafficking."They are helping us, but they could do much more. There's no question about that," Garland responded.Fentanyl is primarily made in Mexico using ingredients shipped from China. It is primarily intercepted through ports of entry by Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Office of Field Operations as smugglers attempt to bring it across the U.S.-Mexico border, but it is also sometimes stopped by Border Patrol agents in the field.Seizures of fentanyl by CBP jumped from about 4,800 pounds in 2020 to 14,700 pounds last year. At least 12,500 pounds of fentanyl have already been seized in the first four months of fiscal year 2023, which began last October. Drug trafficking has risen hand-in-hand with illegal border crossings under President Biden's administration. The U.S. saw roughly 100,000 monthly border encounters in Feb. 2021, when Biden took office, but now regularly sees well over 230,000 encounters, according to CBP data.Support the showSign Up For Exclusive Episodes At: https://reasonabletv.com/LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for new videos every day. https://www.youtube.com/c/NewsForReasonablePeople

Today's show opens with the news from over the weekend that our Department of Energy has concluded that Covid-19 is most likely the result of a lab leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Well, as John McClane says, "Welcome to the party, pal!" Most of us have known this for well over 18 months. In fact, I have been talking about this for nearly three years! It's angering to see the lengths people like Dr. Anthony Fauci, the NIH, the CDC, the WHO and others went to spread their own mis- dis- and mal-inforamtion to protect their incomes and investments from China. The next subject demonstrates yet again why Mayor Pete is nowhere ready for prime time. Pete Buttigieg held a presser on Friday and didn't even realize how he beclowns himself time after time. Mayor Pete wants you to think the train derailment was a result of Donald Trump era policies regarding electionic controlled braking. First, I didn't know the prior president still holds control over how the current Transportation Secretary over what they can and cannot implement. Second, you would have thought Mayor Pete would have checked with the finding of the NTSB beforehand. Otherwise, he might have known it had nothing to do with brakes, but failed wheel bearings. Finally, he doesn't even realize, while trying to blame Trump, is admitting he has done nothing for the last two years. The next subject I discuss I fully admit I do not have my arms around to a comfortable degree. This has to do with new allegations from an investigation in Arizona where false deeds are behind the laudering of money from the Sinaloa cartel (formerly run by El Chapo), to bribe dozens of people in Arizona's government. This includes judges, council members and Governor Kattie Hobbs. It seems the cartel has for years been funneling money to get these people to look the other way and to help keep them in positions of power so they will keep looking the other way. My final topic starts with a teacher who believes she is more educated than a parent and thus parents need to shut up and not have any involvement in what is being taught in the school. This discussion spills into my background in why it's important to deliver clear, black and white lessons early in life to establish a solid foundation. When we sanitize the fairy tales and stories of youth, all we are doing is instilling confusion as those children grow older. They cannot understand nuance and shades of gray. Yet, we have these overly educated morons from the Ivory Tower of academia who think a child's brain is as developed as a adult's. It's all part of the overall problem of lying to our children, not giving solid foundations and not teaching them how to handle adversity. The more we sanitize the stories, the more confusion we are creating. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. “In the United States, the Organized Crime Control Act (1970) defines organized crime as "[t]he unlawful activities of [...] a highly organized, disciplined association [...]".[13] Criminal activity as a structured process is referred to as racketeering. In the UK, police estimate that organized crime involves up to 38,000 people operating in 6,000 various groups.[14] Historically, the largest organized crime force in the United States has been La Cosa Nostra (Italian-American Mafia), but other transnational criminal organizations have also risen in prominence in recent decades.[15] A 2012 article in a U.S. Department of Justice journal stated that: "Since the end of the Cold War, organized crime groups from Russia, China, Italy, Nigeria, and Japan have increased their international presence and worldwide networks or have become involved in more transnational criminal activities. Most of the world's major international organized crime groups are present in the United States."[15] The US Drug Enforcement Administration's 2017 National Drug Threat Assessment classified Mexican transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) as the "greatest criminal drug threat to the United States," citing their dominance "over large regions in Mexico used for the cultivation, production, importation, and transportation of illicit drugs" and identifying the Sinaloa, Jalisco New Generation, Juárez, Gulf, Los Zetas, and Beltrán-Leyva cartels as the six Mexican TCO with the greatest influence in drug trafficking to the United States.[16] The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 has a target to combat all forms of organized crime as part of the 2030 Agenda.[17] In some countries, football hooligans can be considered a criminal organization if it engages in illicit and violent activities.” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support
Greetings to the Living. Thank you for listening to Up Is Down and double-plus-good thanks to all who support this work. In this first of two part episode we dig into the current state of narco politics in Mexico following the apparent capture on January 5th of Ovidio Guzman, one of the sons of Jaoquin "El Chapo" Guzman and the supposed leader of the Los Chapitos faction of the fractured and disrupted Sinaloa Cartel. Once again a power vacuum has emerged with the latest splintering in the operations of one of the most prolific and influential drug cartels in Mexico, the Sinaloa Cratel. We get into the players and regional characteristics of Sinaloa as well as a few other operations and examine the phenomena of Narcotheology; a sort of replacement faith of the poor and disenfranchised (mostly) men of Mexico in the form of sanctified religious doctrine giving allowance to and structure to the seemingly chaotic and brutal life in and around the cartels. In this two part examination we learn about the fentanyl operations of the cartels as well as which drugs and industries are becomng dominated by the warring cartels, who supplies them and why, where the drugs and people are going, how the cartels are able to operate on either side of the border. We also learn about the "saints" in the burgeoning practice of narcotheology, its systems, rules and bylaws, rituals, history and possible future direction of Latin America. If the past is any indication of the future, La Raza Cosmica and a rebirth of Atlantis may be closer than anyone thinks.* * * * * * * * * * * *Consider joining us over at Patreon. Ed Calderon spent nearly two decades running counter-operations against cartels inside Mexico. He joined Rep. Crenshaw for a wide-ranging conversation about the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation Cartels. They talk about how both cartels rose to power, their battle tactics against Mexican police and paramilitary forces, using TikTok to recruit soldiers and traffic victims, their secret occult practices, how they're infiltrating the United States, what average Mexican citizens think of the cartels, and what the future holds as the ultra-violent Jalisco New Generation makes further gains in territory across Mexico and the United States. Ed Calderon started his career as a police officer in Tijuana and worked in the fields of counter-narcotics, organized crime investigation, and public safety in the northern border region of Mexico.
