ORIGINALLY AIRED: 01 February 2023ABOUT THE NOW:The highly infectious and guitar-heavy hooks of the four-piece band The Now were born in South Wales in 2018 after Shane Callaghan (Rhythm Guitar & Lead Vocals), Will Scott (Drums), Callum Bromage (Guitar & Vocals) and Jay Evans (Bass Guitar) met at a local jam night.Their stage presence was something special, and after perfecting their sound, The Now released its debut single "Friendly Fire" in 2021, followed by the 2022 debut 5-song EP 'The Truth Always Comes Out In The End,' which spawned the singles "Holy" (which was chosen as "The Coolest Song in the World" by SiriusXM's Little Steven's Underground Garage) and "Rockstar," both of which landed them exposure on ITV, BBC, Sky Sports, MTV, and several local independent radio stations. The last year found The Now selling out the opening of their hometown Swansea Arena and supporting the likes of Placebo, Noel Gallagher, Reef, Trampoline, Florence Black, The New Roses, and more. With an average age of 25, the Welsh rockers deliver a huge punch to the head with superb lyrics and highly charged instrumentals.Having already worked with legendary producers like Grammy award-winning producer Jason Perry (McFly, Busted, Don Broco, The Blackout), Adam Noble (Coldplay, Biffy Clyro, Liam Gallagher) and Richard Jackson (The Automatic, Super Furry Animals and Duffy), the band is excited to announce a February 17 release date for their new single "Devil Inside Me," The track will appear on their upcoming debut full-length album, produced by Oli Jacobs (The 1975, Harry Styles) and due out this summer.CONNECT WITH THE NOW:FACEBOOK - INSTAGRAM - TWITTER - YOUTUBE - SPOTIFYSUPPORT THIS SHOWSUBSCRIBE TO YOUR LIFE THE MIXTAPE MAGAZINESUBSCRIBE TO DEAR DEAN MAGAZINE

We had the pleasure of interviewing The Ongoing Concept over Zoom video! We The band — brothers Dawson Scholz [vocals, guitar], Kyle Scholz [vocals, keys, percussion], and Parker Scholz [drums] along with TJ Nichols [vocals, bass], and Andy Crateau [vocals, guitar] — have released their fourth album Again, out via Solid State Records. Not only is this the first taste of new music from the band since 2017 but it also marks the return of the original lineup."'Unwanted Again' was one of our favorites to write and record," states Dawson. "Being fans of bands like Cory Wong, Dirty Loops, Don Broco, and Vulfpeck, we found ourselves incorporating a lot of groovy elements to this album, and this song really showcases that. It was also fun to bounce vocals back between TJ and I. For longtime fans of our band, we added some subtle references to our song 'Unwanted'; not only in the song, but in the music video as well. Being our second single and coming after a heavy hitter like 'Prisoner Again,' I think this song showcases the variety we put into this album."The Ongoing Concept emerged with the now-seminal Saloon back in 2013. On its heels, fan favorite Handmade bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Christian Albums Chart in addition to cracking the Top 30 of the Top Independent Albums Chart. In its wake, Kyle, Parker, and TJ departed, leaving Dawson as the sole original member for Places in 2017. As The Ongoing Concept went dormant, the group's catalog continued to react with listeners as the likes of "Cover Girl" clocked over a million Spotify streams and counting. After a period of quiet, communication mended between Dawson and his brothers Kyle and Parker. Between careers, marriages, and kids, they kicked around the idea of playing together once more."We'd been playing music since we were six-years-old," notes Dawson."We lived and breathed the same band together. It's crazy, because I didn't know my brothers outside of music. Taking a break for a few years, we found who we were as normal people and embraced other interests. It was super healthy for all of us. One day, we were hanging out, and I said, 'You know I've been working on some little skeletons for songs,' and it made sense. The only reason we got back together was because we had our time apart."They self-produced Again and took their time. The Ongoing Concept integrated "lyrics and Easter Eggs" from previous albums into the record's framework, embodying the title quite literally. We want to hear from you! Rob Damiani of Don Broco lets us know why landing a number one song in the UK isn't the true definition of success, growing up on Australian TV, his love of action heroes, cartoons, his lack of sports knowledge and we even discuss a little music! When can we expect new material? The “Fingernails” video and more, it's all in here!
Join us on this fascinating journey through the history of Don Broco, a band that formed in Bedford, England in 2008 and went on to achieve tremendous success. From their humble beginnings playing in secondary school and experimenting with names like "Summer Fall" and "Club Sex," to settling on "Don Broco" after a football accident, we'll explore their early years and the release of their debut EP, Living the Dream. Discover how Don Broco supported Enter Shikari on tour and played the Reading and Leeds festivals before re-inventing themselves and releasing their debut album, Priorities. As we delve into their discography, we'll analyze the critical reception of their albums and discuss their journey with SharpTone Records, leading to the release of the massive hit, Everybody. We'll also discuss their sold-out show at London's Alexandra Palace, their experimentation with boxing, and the release of their latest album, Amazing Things. Finally, we'll look forward to their upcoming arena tour with Nu Metal legends Papa Roach. Don't miss this comprehensive exploration of Don Broco's evolution from a small-town band to an arena-filling phenomenon.

After looking into the tone of 1's and 0's, we'll recreate the tone of Simon Delaney on Don Broco's "Nerve" and talk about tools and accessories that make our lives as guitarists much easier and more... fulfilling? On this episode of Headliners, Greg is joined by SHANE from THE NOW!!!!The highly infectious and guitar-heavy hooks of four-piece band The Now were born in South Wales in 2018 after Shane Callaghan (Rhythm Guitar & Lead Vocals), Will Scott (Drums), Callum Bromage (Guitar & Vocals) and Jay Evans (Bass Guitar) met at a local jam night.Their stage presence was something special, and after perfecting their sound, The Now released its debut single "Friendly Fire" in 2021, followed by the 2022 debut 5-song EP 'The Truth Always Comes Out In The End,' which spawned the singles "Holy" (which was chosen as "The Coolest Song in the World" by SiriusXM's Little Steven's Underground Garage) and "Rockstar," both of which landed them exposure on ITV, BBC, Sky Sports, MTV and a number of local independent radio stations. The last year found The Now selling out the opening of their hometown Swansea Arena and supporting the likes of Placebo, Noel Gallagher, Reef, Trampoline, Florence Black, The New Roses, and more. With an average age of 25, the Welsh rockers deliver a huge punch to the head with superb lyrics and highly charged instrumentals.Having already worked with legendary producers like Grammy award-winning producer Jason Perry (McFly, Busted, Don Broco, The Blackout), Adam Noble (Coldplay, Biffy Clyro, Liam Gallagher) and Richard Jackson (The Automatic, Super Furry Animals and Duffy), the band is excited to announce a February 17 release date for their new single "Devil Inside Me," The track will appear on their upcoming debut full-length album, produced by Oli Jacobs (The 1975, Harry Styles) and due out this summer.CONNECT WITH THE NOWFACEBOOK - INSTAGRAM - TWITTER - YOUTUBE - SPOTIFYSUPPORT THIS SHOW

Weiterlesen »

As broadcast May 5, 2022 with extra spice for your boogie chillun. Admittedly, our apologies for posting this so late as it got lost in the shuffle, but this is a lovely program broadcast on Children's Day so we thought we'd take dead aim at the exhausted parents who'd put up with a day of taking their wildlings to restaurants and other civilized places while also putting it on for the parents-to-be with a selection of romanticisms, disco funk, and various other love phantasms to help things along. Dan Lloyd of course joined us once again with a smattering of new rock joints paired with some nostalgic childhood-centered songs from various eras to close things in his own emphatic and creative way.

JAJAJAJAA!
The third season premiere sees The Cacophony Sessions rating our favourite records of 2021. Join Dan Whitell, Tom, 'Housewife's Choice' Martyn, Dave and 'Butcher's Boy' Alex as we present the top ten albums of last year, a couple of months after the dust has settled (and everyone else has had a go). With Fontaines DC taking home the prize for 2020, who will claim the most hallowed of accolades for the burning trash fire that was 2021? Along the way we cover all our usual sweary tangents - Tom's latest listenings; a tribute to the recently departed Meat Loaf and Alex turning full-blown heel and living up to his newly-bestowed moniker. We apologise we couldn't present this sooner but it was fraught with technical issues, some of which are still heard on Dave's audio. We've cleaned it up as much as we can and it's time to reveal the winners! Our scores can be found here (spoilers within).Remember to leave us a review on Apple Music, follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook and stand by for more episodes as we bring you a third year of musical chaos. All musical interludes are written and performed by us.
In this episode, we kick-off the discussion by asking each other what we're watching, reading and listening to! Listen to our musings on Silk Sonic, Don Broco, The Shield, Smallville, Jeen-yuhs, Vox Machina, The Witcher AND Gone Girl. If you have any topic suggestions, queries or feedback feel free to email henchandsaunters@gmail.com or contact us on Twitter, Facebook or YouTube
Welcome to another week of alternative music news, reviews and opinions courtesy of us here at Riot Act. Steve and Remfry start, pretty much immediately, by excitedly reviewing the recent Biffy Clyro gig at the Forum in London, before delving into this weeks releases, discussing the news that U2 have released a rubbish song (much to Steve's disappointment but not shock), Porcupine Tree have reformed and that some Slipknot fans have set fire to a mosh pit… or something. We also pay tribute to legendary music writer Malcolm Dome, who we were very sad to learn passed away this week. RIP to the man who coined the term thrash metal and who has given both of us literally tens of thousands of words on some of our favourite music ever. We then catch up on some recent releases that we feel are worth talking about from a truly mixed bag; Limp Bizkit, The War On Drugs, Don Broco, Jonsi, JPEGMAFIA, Marissa Nadler, Teethgrynder, Rivers of Nihil, Tom VR and Can't Swim all have their latest albums discussed and dissected. There's a lot of chat about the saxophone too. Nice. This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Chartable - https://chartable.com/privacy
Our first guests Brett and Tim from The Keep Up Podcast discuss "Technology" By Don Broco and "Hot Fuss" by The Killers with us! It's the Throat Podcast with Loz Taylor & Christian Carlisle. In this episode we are putting the Don in Don Broco as we talk to Rob Damiani about juggling multiple bands with school work, Work experience cock up's, rock & roll legends and some awesome insight into his vocals.
Jonny has one of the fastest growing bass related you tube channels and it's no mystery why. His videos combine professional video quality/editing, excellent original music and his irrepressible Somerset wit. He started the channel at the start of lockdown, focusing mainly on more affordable gear as he always felt like there were lots of quality videos focusing on the lower end of the market and felt like he could show that you can make cheaper gear sound good! Jonny has also done several tours in the UK with his old band Cardinal Bay, sharing stages with Don Broco and Funeral For A Friend, all whilst studying for a degree at uni. He currently holds down the lowend in Nova Mora.
In this episode, Travis shows off his vocabulary, Luke has control of the sound effects, and both of us realise why Luke doesn't get invited to protests. We discuss Night Crawler, 14 Steps to a Better You by Lime Cordiale, and Automatic by Don Broco.
