Talking about improvising a story on the LIA Cast! How do you build an idea into a workable premise for a story? How do you find the details worth exploring, or the hooks that will grab an audience? This time Jerzy is joined by special guests Chris Giarrusso and Gregg Schigiel for a discussion on looking for the details or aspects of an idea that can be riffed upon to create situations that lead to stories. I had so much fun chatting with Gregg Schigiel, the creator of PIX: One Weirdest Weekend (v1) and the forthcoming second volume, PIX: Too Super for School, which is available May 3, 2017, at your local comic shop or where finer books are sold. We talked about the publication of PIX through Image Comics, and Gregg answers many questions about PIX v1 (if you want to hear a more in-depth summary of PIX v1, listen to Episode 83). I learned a lot about Gregg's creative process and his love of bears. Special thanks to George of the George and Tony Entertainment Show for making this conversation possible. Gregg Schigiel is an artist who is part of the vanguard of new all ages characters in comics. Currently working on "Spongebob Squarepants", he is the creator of "Pix", a book about a teen fairy princess with superpowers trying to navigate high school. He tells us how the book fits in at Image, why he prefers to call them "kids books" over "all ages", the greatness of the NBC show "Ed", his legendary 90s Marvel Spider-Man comic "Fastlane", and working for Marvel during bankruptcy. He's also an avid podcaster with two shows- "Stuff Said" and "Cruisin Together", which leads to extensive Tom Cruise discussion as well as his unrelated hilarious analysis of "Rosemary's Baby". A lively and amusing episode to be sure! You can find other great podcasts on the network as well as comic and entertainment news by jumping on twitter and following @taylornetwork
