From colonial food addiction to a bold Vegan World 2026 roadmap, this episode is a wake-up call to align our bodies, ethics, and planet. During the 20th century, a number of individuals devoted their lives to helping the Jewish People; determined, courageous and innovative. Their fundraising efforts had an enormous impact on the Jewish world. Their stories need to be heard.    Charity also raises Halachic dilemmas for donors and recipients alike. And then there is a unique opportunity to introduce a History for the Curious podcast !   Join our fundraiser this week, to help double our audience. Link goes live on Motze Shabbos 2nd November -  www.charityextra.com/jle/podcast     Summary This conversation explores significant moments in Jewish fundraising history: people, events and campaigns. It emphasizes the importance of charity and community support and delves into the historical context of Jewish fundraising efforts, particularly in the aftermath of World War II. It highlights the transformative power of community support, the guilt felt by American Jewry for not doing enough during the war, and the significant contributions made by individuals like Henry Morgenthau. The discussion also touches on the evolution of fundraising methods, including the rise of online platforms that democratize giving. Halakhic perspectives on fundraising practices are also explored, such as revealing names of donors and repayments for loans   Takeaways WWI brought various Jewish organisations together to help Jews internationally. Rabbi Elya Chaim Meisels played a crucial role in building Lodz's infrastructure and exemplified selflessness. The Ponovezher Rov's efforts saved many lives during the war. True fundraising requires a deep understanding of the cause. Building a future is more important than memorializing the past. The impact of individual donors can transform communities. Historic fundraising campaigns have shaped the Jewish community's response to crises. The ongoing struggle for Jewish survival is echoed in historical fundraising efforts. This episode is with the fabulous duo Florence and Reed from the Come Curious podcast. We talk about everything from awkward/uncomfortable sexual experiences to top super hot sexual experiences, why you should have your friend film you having sex, why sex on the beach isn't for everyone, sex in bathroom stalls, kink and fetishes, and how people move through/beyond body shame and discover their unique “sexy”. Be prepared to laugh and learn because these two women are absolutely shameless! About our guests: Florence Bark is a content-creator, and sex and relationships expert, and author of 'This book will make you feel something'. Using her own experiences as (often painful) gold, her expansive, multi-disciplinary work cuts to the heart of what it means to live in pursuit of a genuinely fulfilling and growth-inspiring love and sex life.  Sex Educator and presenter Reed Amber has been in the adult industry for over 10 years both behind and in front of the camera. She has always been passionate about achieving equality and high levels of duty of care in an industry that can lack both. Reed worked as an ethical porn director and is now an advocate for sex-worker rights. She has been a regular guest on the BBC Tricky podcast for kinks, festishes and sex work as well as Cosmopolitan discussing pleasure and sexuality.  Together they are the co-creators of Come Curious, a leading British sex and relationships YouTube channel, with over 218k subscribers. Their award-winning podcast ‘F**ks Given' (now Come Curious) has over 5 million listens on episodes exploring everything from polyamory and fetishes to STIs and having difficult conversations with your partner. Welcome to the Consciously Curious Podcast - a safe & supportive space for people to feel seen, validated and expanded in their pursuit of greater alignment in their lives. Each week, your host, Alyson Haley, a long-time American style and travel influencer turned heart-led wisdom seeker, invites you to join her & her expert guests in exploring topics in the realms of modern spirituality, self-development and health & wellness. The mission here is to explore the ways in which our mind, body and soul are all connected and to be a beacon of light and support for those navigating their own conscious upleveling, transformation, or personal evolution.Alyson Haley, who actually goes by Haley, is originally from the U.S. but currently living in the UK. Her big move abroad shook the foundation of everything she knew and was, ultimately, the catalyst to a season of death and rebirth - the shedding of an expired identity and a remembering of who she has always been at her core. This podcast is her way of re-introducing herself and creating space for others, who may be in a similar season, to understand some of the topics that brought her peace, comfort and understanding during a time that felt equal parts scary and disorienting. For her, there is so much beauty in possibility and she firmly believes there's so much to be gained when we allow ourselves to drop our biases & lead with curiosity and kindness. These two values will be at the root of every conversation and she sincerely hopes you find this place to be one you look forward to returning to week after week.Tune in on Wednesdays for new episodes and don't forget to join the community by subscribing to the weekly newsletter!✨Subscribe to the weekly newsletter!✨Follow Haley on Instagram!✨Check out the podcast website!

I recorded this 3 times for some pretty embarassing school-boy errors, and it sounds like I recorded it in a small box.  But it's here and let's all be thankful.First up we have the return of Jack Ask.  I solve the Christmas dilemma of whether or not any of the Harry Potter films can be classed as Christmas films.Next up it's our Christmas Not So Classic.  The first ever winner of the UK Pop Idol, Will Young, released a Christmas single in 2019 and though it's a lovely song it did not become a classic.  Check it out, it's a nice song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiJn9UT82EEThen Bob Baker our podcast barman talks about cookies or should that be biscuits?Next up is What the Dickens, and this episode we talk about Mr Charlie D's side hustle as a magician.  I kid you not,Then it's another version of the Christmas Yule Log.  This one is a tie-in to the film Venom: Let there be Carnage.  The film was absolute trolley and sadly the yule log ain't much better, but if you want to have a look, here's a link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO5j6S2UPMs&t=8403sThen Bob is back with a great way to keep feeling festive all year round.  This time it's Christmas music to help you with your training at the gym. Then it's the quiz.  I scored 10 out of 10 because I'm incredibly clever.  What will your score be?This episode's recommendation is  The Past and the Curious Podcast.  It's a great history podcast. Messy Family Podcast : Catholic conversations on marriage and family

If curiosity is a trait that can lead to the development of healthier, deeper, and more intimate relationships, then it could be another vital feature of the life of the child. - Maggie Hernon Did this title cause you to look?  Do you wonder what it is about?  Is it causing you to click to listen?  That is because you are curious and that is a good thing! Curiosity is something we should all be encouraging in our children and there are numerous benefits.  People who are curious have better mental health, are more successful in life and relationships, and have a more highly developed sense of wonder and awe in the world.  Children are born curious, and it is up to parents to encourage them through the tools we give them, the environment we provide and how we model curiosity ourselves.  Listen in to find out how to help your children be curious about the world and themselves and why this is an essential skill. https://messyfamilyproject.org/

Branded as the ultimate ‘All American Girl' by Scenes Media, Howie unapologetically embodies the untamed tradition that country music was built on, and she's hellbent on bringing her own grit to the honky tonk. Not many can say they've shared the stage with the likes of Carrie Underwood, and Howie is one of even fewer who can say they were handpicked to do so at the age of 5; while other kids were learning how to ride a bike, she was teaching people to expect the unexpected whenever they hear the name Payton Howie. Her most recent single “Freedom” was featured on several of Spotify's sought after editorial playlists, and the accompanying music video bleeds red, white and blue. On the verge of releasing her debut EP, Payton Howie is prepared to scorch country music with a brand that's hers alone.Intro music artist credit: Short Guitar Clip by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Artist: http://audionautix.com/

But first, we must define the differences between Preservation and Protection in the landscape. To preserve is to protect, to keep, to maintain the condition of; while to protect is to keep safe, to defend, to guard; against harmful human activities that have disrupted culture, climate, and biodiversity of plant and animals. With that in mind, we have separated our discussion into three parts. The first topic will cover indigenous cultures, followed by the second topic on the biodiversity of animals, plants, and the environment. And lastly, the topic of addressing the issues of climate change within the landscape. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thelandscapenerd/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thelandscapenerd/support

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thelandscapenerd/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thelandscapenerd/support

Previously, Maci defined stealing for us as theft, to take unlawfully or without permission. She also discussed the need for us to talk about, confront, and unveil the truth behind the flaws and injustices of our nation's past. That we can no longer hide behind such topics that are sensitive or controversial, we can no longer worry ourselves with the fear of confrontation and ownership of our faults. We are here to simply present these issues, lie them on the table and say, “here is what we are dealing with, here is how this is still a problem today, and this is what we can do as landscape architects to acknowledge and resolve these issues.” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thelandscapenerd/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thelandscapenerd/support
