Send us a textHave you ever wondered what makes a supervillain tick? Inspired by Matt's intriguing suggestion, we embark on a whole new adventure into the twisted minds of some of pop culture's most notorious foes. Join us as we unravel the duality and trauma of Harvey Dent from the Christian Bale Batman movies and analyze the chilling psyche of Carnage, the chaotic serial killer played by Woody Harrelson in the Venom series. With a playful nod to the absurdity of a villain named Cletus, we mix gravity with a dash of humor as we explore what makes these characters so compellingly complex. But villains aren't the only stars of our show. Brace yourself for the awe-inspiring journey of John Shield, the former paratrooper who defied the odds after a life-altering fall and emerged victorious in the world of ultra-marathons. His tale of resilience weaves through deserts, jungles, and icy terrains, proving that the human spirit knows no bounds. Plus, who could forget our delightful chat with Kristen from Mrs Vino on the Man Cave podcast? Were pleased to bring you our favorite review on the only Dukes of Hazzard Christmas episode, S3E9 title the Great Santa Claus Chase. This review originally aired in KF Show #247 in 2022. Christmas Dukes Review: Somehow, an episode that has next to no General Lee in it…..is so endearing and charming it must be due to Christmas magic! In this episode they choose to re-enact the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. This is the tale of "Scrooge Hogg" stealing Christmas trees from Hazzard citizens and the Duke boys and Crazy Cooter stealing them back to deliver them in Santa Claus suits. Not good enough? In a nod to childlike happiness, the three bad guys in the episode also wear Santa Claus suits….meaning there are 6 Santas onscreen at one time. When the bad guys in Santa suits get caught, Cletus calls them "Merry Men!" The Boars Nest is decorated, proving that Christmas decorations at dive bars make them extra cheery. Better yet, there are carols, hot chocolate, and this episode ends on a message of what Christmas is all about; unconditional forgiveness…..topped off by some jingle bells flying overhead by (possibly) a certain jolly old Elf. If you would like to give us feedback on how were doing follow us at: https://discord.gg/cd6sNqvnav https://beacons.ai/senornerdpodcast Venom is a 2018 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom. The first film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU), it was directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by the writing team of Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, along with Kelly Marcel. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock and Venom alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. In the film, struggling journalist Eddie gains superpowers after becoming the host of an alien symbiote, Venom, whose species plans to invade Earth. Following Venom's appearance in Spider-Man 3 (2007), Sony Pictures attempted to develop a spin-off film based on the Venom character, which was stalled due to issues with the company's ongoing Spider-Man franchise. In March 2016, work began on a new version that would start a new shared universe featuring the non-Spider-Man Marvel characters that the studio possessed film rights to. Sony also originally intended for the Venom film to share the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), but ultimately distanced the film from Spider-Man. Sony's Columbia Pictures produced the film in association with Marvel Entertainment.[5] In March 2017, Rosenberg and Pinkner were set to write, with Fleischer and Hardy added in May; Marcel subsequently joined to rewrite the script. Filming took place from October 2017 to January 2018 in Atlanta, New York City, and San Francisco. The film was primarily inspired by the comic book miniseries Venom: Lethal Protector (1993) and the story arc "Planet of the Symbiotes" (1995). Ludwig Göransson was hired to compose the film's score, marking his second Marvel film after Black Panther (2018). Venom premiered at the Regency Village Theater on October 1, 2018, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 5. Despite receiving generally negative reviews from critics, Hardy's performance and the character's relationship with Venom were praised, and the film became the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2018, earning over $856 million worldwide and setting several box office records for an October release. It is followed by two sequels: Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which was released on October 1, 2021, and Venom: The Last Dance, which is scheduled for release on October 25, 2024. Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a 2021 American superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom. The sequel to Venom (2018) and the second film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU), it was directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel. Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock and Venom alongside Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. In the film, Eddie and the alien symbiote Venom must face serial killer Cletus Kasady (Harrelson) after he becomes the host of an offshoot of Venom named Carnage. Venom was intended by Sony Pictures to be the start of a new shared universe, and plans for a sequel began during production on the first film. Harrelson was cast to make a brief appearance as Cletus at the end of Venom, with the intention of him becoming the villain Carnage in the sequel. Official work on the sequel began in January 2019, with Hardy and Harrelson confirmed to return along with Marcel as writer. Serkis was hired as director that August, partly due to his experience working with computer-generated imagery (CGI) and motion capture technology, which was an important part of portraying Venom and Carnage in the film. Filming took place at Leavesden Studios in England from November 2019 to February 2020, with additional filming in San Francisco in February. The title was announced in April 2020. Marco Beltrami was hired to compose the film's score, replacing Ludwig Göransson from the previous film.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Judah & the Lion over Zoom video!“Floating in the Night,” the follow-up to “Great Decisions,” Nashville crossover folk heroes Judah & the Lion (Judah Akers and Brian Macdonald) double down on the post break-up anger – but stretch towards forgiveness. The soul-baring new single is from their forthcoming album, The Process, which will be released on May 10 via Cletus the Van / Downtown Artist & Label Services.Judah says, “Anger was something I wasn't allowed to feel growing up. The notion that everything had to be “okay” and not be justifiably angry only hurt me and my chronic back pain. When people who hurt you don't take your pain seriously. That fucking sucks. I won't let that happen again.” The Process, their fifth studio album, was inspired by singer Judah's personal life and struggles. Both he and Brian are sons of therapists, so groundbreaking psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross' five stages of grief came to mind – Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance – as they began work on the album. Interludes set the tone for song suites dedicated to each of the five stages. Leading up to release of “Floating in the Night,” Judah & the Lion teased the single and shared about the role anger plays in the healing process in a series of short videos. Influencer jordanbyrness amplified the message with her “YALL. AREN'T. HEARING. HIM.” post.Judah & the Lion will be performing some of the new songs on tour this spring. The extensive North American run will kick off on April 25 at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC and include shows at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre (May 19) and The Rooftop at Pier 17 in NYC (May 31).The Process is buoyant, impassioned and emotionally connective. The band has a reinvigorated sense of purpose with its aim to create music that resonates deeply, believing in music's power to connect people and make them feel less alone in life's journey. The band began releasing songs from The Process last year. The new material has racked up nearly 10 million combined global streams to date and earned spots on numerous playlists across all DSPs, including Spotify's New Music Friday, Apple Music's New Music Daily and Amazon Music's Alternative Hits, with additional support from SiriusXM Alt Nation's “Advanced Placement,” Pandora, YouTube, SoundCloud, Tidal, Audiomack and Deezer.Since their 2012 debut EP, Judah & the Lion have earned widespread acclaim for their genre-bending music, received Platinum/Gold certifications, amassed over one billion career streams and sold over 500 million tickets. Six of their hit singles have gone Top 15 on Alternative radio and the band won an iHeart Music Award for Best New Alt Rock Band of 2018. The Process is the follow-up to 2022's Revival, which Atwood Magazine praised as an “electric embrace of what it means to be alive: Soaring through limitless euphoric highs, dwelling in gut-wrenching lows, and soaking up all the feeling in between.”We want to hear from you! Listen in for a rundown of whatever Valentine's Day stuff that Bern came up with....which is probably super duper weird, but kind of adorable too. Following that is a re-broadcast of our review of "Cleetus Falls in Love" from KF Episode 252. Godspeed. -Kibbe and Corndog Poor Cleetus makes the mistake of being #MeToo'd by Daisy Dukes, and his heart has to pay the price until she finally confesses to using her sexuality for personal gain. Poor Cleetus. But, love know no boundaries - and just like Cleetus we all have to take the high road and go on to date a bank teller anyway. This episode features Sheriff Little and is the second episode after the shift to the wide push bar General Lee. Also noted in this episode, no-one suffered from food poisoning and was stricken with vomiting and diarrhea for 4 hours straight. ======================================== See you soon.
