And among those names…is Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James. WWE mentioned Impact and the Knockouts Title by name during the SmackDown broadcast and online. Impact also announced the news, including a quote from EVP Scott D'Amore saying “WWE wanted it, Mickie wanted it and IMPACT Wrestling's philosophy is always to work with other major promotions to create buzz for the fans.” Mickie James kinda overshadowed the other outsiders announced last night for the women's Rumble match. They include the Bella Twins, Lita, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, and Summer Rae. SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair ALSO declared herself for the Rumble. Flair won a non-title match over Naomi on SmackDown, thanks to a big assist from Sonya Deville. “Jackass” star Johnny Knoxville is officially in the men's Rumble match. Also, Sheamus is in. Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble…against Seth Rollins. The Usos are still the SmackDown Tag Champs. They beat King Woods & Kofi Kingston in a street fight on Friday's SmackDown. Rick Boogs pinned Sami Zayn with a small package. Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss beat the Viking Raiders. (STINGER: Impact) Mickie James may not be Knockouts Champion for much longer. She's defending the title on tonight's Hard To Kill pay-per-view..in a Texas Death Match against Deonna Purrazzo. The Knockouts Tag Title match is OFF of tonight's show. The titleholders, The IInspiration are self-isolating after being in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID0-19 On to the rest of the Hard To Kill card: Moose defends the Impact World Title in a 3-way against Matt Cardona and W. Morrissey. Speaking of “Forbidden Doors”, Jonathan Gresham will defend the Ring Of Honor World Championship against Chris Sabin. Trey Miguel puts the X-Division Title on the line against Steve Maclin. (STINGER: AEW) AEW has a live special tonight on TNT. It's Battle Of The Belts, also starting at 8PM Eastern. Cody Rhodes will NOT defend the TNT Championship on the show. AEW announced last night he's not medically cleared. Instead, it'll be Dustin Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara for the INTERIM TNT Title. Also tonight, Dr. Britt Baker defends the AEW Women's Championship against Riho. Riho & Ruby Soho beat Baker & Jamie Hayter on Friday night's Rampage. Riho rolled up Hayter for the pin. A third match was added to Battle Of The Belts during Rampage. Ricky Starks will defend the FTW Championship against Matt Sydal. Getting back to the in-ring action on Rampage, Adam Cole beat Jake Atlas. Atlas hurt his knee at the very end of this match. Cole had to abort the Panama Sunrise and finish him with kneebar submission. Atlas later tweeted “My knee will be just fine.“ Also on Friday's Rampage, Hook beat Aaron Solo. The show starts off HOT with multiple 2021 inaugural 24/7 worst segment of the year awards dished out but who walked out of the podcast with the title by the end...and who's next? Anyway, we cover Wrestling Kingdom 15, AEW New Year's Smash, NXT New Year's Evil and some of WWE Raw Legends Night and Smackdown shenanigans. New Japan officially announcing a number of new matches for Wrestle Kingdom late Sunday night. Added to Night 1 on January 4th - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Great-O-Khan. Also, IWGP Tag Team Champions Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr. defending against the World Tag League winners the Guerrillas of Destiny. And Best Of The Super Juniors winner Hiromu Takahashi will face Super J Cup winner El Phantasmo. The winner of that match will advance to Night 2 - to challenge IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori. Also now confirmed for Night 2 - EVIL vs SANADA.. Shingo Takagi defending the NEVER Openweight Title against Jeff Cobb. New Japan also announced matches for its Road To Tokyo Dome shows later this month. The show on December 23rd will see the King Of Pro Wrestling 2020 winner decided when Toru Yano faces Bad Luck Fale. This next story is bigger than pro wrestling, but it's certainly being watched closely across the industry. We're talking about the first doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine. The first wave of about 3 million doses is now being rolled out nationwide, Vaccinations are expected to begin today. Health care workers and nursing home residents are the priority right now. Anyone getting vaccinated will need a second shot in a few weeks for full protection. In Florida, where WWE and AEW have been essentially trapped by the pandemic for most of the year, more than 179,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine are expected to arrive soon. Again, it'll be health care workers and long-term care residents getting it first. Others will have to be patient. (DeSantis On COVID Vaccine) Florida Governor Ron DeSantis speaking just days ago. AEW's Kenny Omega, Rey Fenix, Penta El Zero M and Michael Nakazaw are returning to the U.S. after appearing at AAA's TripleMania in Mexico City Saturday night. If you're wondering about travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic… Air travelers leaving Mexico may be subject to health screenings, according to the website for the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. Also, the CDC does recommend anyone traveling back into the U.S. get tested first. And then, after arriving back in the U.S. get tested again AND stay home for at least 7 days. There are new details on the four characters inspired by Marvel Comics who debuted for AAA at Saturday night's TripleMania. Lucha Blog reports it was Lio Rush playing Spider-Man, Daga in the role of Captain America, Brian Cage playing Thanos and AAA's Taurus as Venom. It's not entirely clear who showed up under the mask of Captain Marvel after the match. The final Monday Night Raw before WWE's TLC show goes down tonight. A couple new matches for tonight's Raw were announced Sunday. We'll get Sheamus vs AJ Styles. Styles will also be part of a segment called “The Nightmare Before TLC”. He's challenging Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship next Sunday. Also tonight, The New Day and Jeff Hardy vs. The Hurt Business and Nia Jax vs. Lana. Finally, an update on NXT India. SK Wrestling is reporting the program will feature Indian talent that are already with WWE competing in an 8-man tournament, and it will be produced at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. But a major blindspot in his fandom has been New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 14.  For the first time ever, this event was split into two days of extremely long cards. There thankfully was no noticeable drop in match quality across both shows, but it cannot be understated: This is a LOT of wrestling and watching it all will take at least a little bit of patience. This past weekend was New Japan's (Hell, all of wrestling's) biggest show of the year--Wrestling Kingdom 14. While Shane covered both nights on Aftershocks with Imp, Jeff wasn't able to make it to Night 2 due to technical glitches; so they will discuss it tonight. Plus, this coming weekend is Hard to Kill, so time permitting the guys will run down that card.
