Episode: 00059 Release Date: June 14, 2021 Description: Getting buy-in from colleagues is hard enough, let alone the Chief of Police! However, this week's guest, Lauren Norman, did just that when she created a product that forecasted a crime that actually happened when and where she said it would. In this episode, Lauren shares her day-to-day experience working for different types of agencies, and how she ended up where she is now at one of the biggest providers for law enforcement, LexisNexis. Lauren explains how the leadership and management culture has adapted during the pandemic era, and how her team still cultivates a close bond despite everyone working in a different state, even before the pandemic. Lauren emphasizes the benefits of networking, and how the connections she made through professional associations like IACA and MACA have really helped her grow professionally and personally in her early days as an analyst. Lauren is currently a Senior Manager in the Public Safety Analysis section of LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Y'all, it's a big day! I’ve been hinting for a few weeks now that my business and my podcast are changing. And the time has finally come: episode 362 is the last episode of Raise Your Hand Say Yes.  Even though my podcast is shifting (I'll meet you right back here next week with a new name and artwork), it will still be me chatting in your ear about the things that are lighting me up and interviewing fascinating people. Today, though, I’m sharing the inconvenient whispers that led me to this change, how I navigated the process, and what all of this means for the future. As a Christian, How Do You Know when You Hear “a still small voice” that It Is the Holy Spirit? Listening Always in Your Personal Relationship with God MESSAGE SUMMARY: We know, from the New Testament, that Christians are given the Holy Spirit to walk with them -- "a voice behind you". Isaiah tells us in Isaiah 30:21: "And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.". Since the Holy Spirit takes up residence in you, the way the Lord speaks to you is through the inward witness of the Holy Spirit -- the Spirit will speak, and you will know that it is the Lord. In John 14:26, Jesus reminds us about His promise, to His followers, of the “Helper” (Holy Spirit): “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”. Additionally, in John 16-7, Jesus tells us that not only will the Holy Spirit be your “Helper”, the Holy Spirit will be your “Comforter”: “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.".   TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Hatred. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Love. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Ezekiel 22:30-31; Isaiah 30:21; John 14:23-27; John 16:7-13; Psalms 134:1-3 THIS SUNDAY’S AUDIO SERMON: You can listen to Archbishop Beach’s Current Sunday Sermon: “Today, With All the “Clutter” in Our lives from Information Noise and the Uncertainties Surrounding Us, Listening for God’s Voice is Critical", at our Website: https://awtlser.podbean.com/ WEBSITE LINK TO DR. Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast and Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver spoons Podcas

Hey Punky Peeps, Welcome to a New Year and a new Season of the Punky Brewster. I’m Angela Bowen the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today I’ll be covering S3E1: Reading, Writing and Rock and Roll which aired on October 30, 1987. In this episode Punky wants to see the rock group DeBarge in concert, but Henry is more concerned with her education. In this episode I talk about the importance of reading and even suggest a couple of books I've read. Young Adult Contemporary Love, Life and the List by Kasie West and Middle Grade Series Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. I also recommend Jimmy Dean Pancake and Sausage Bites and Cinnamon Candy Oreos. I mention the passing of one of the cohosts of the 3 Day Rental Podcast. I talk about my time meeting the band Hanson in 2011 when I'd first listened to them back in 1997 when I was 14 and their pictures graced my walls. Speaking of reading I talk about the time I got Jeremy who by the way doesn't like to read I got him to read at least 10 books and this was before we started dating. Brandon Tail Wag Episode Rating: I gave this episode 3 out of 5 Brandon Tail Wags 1. Brandon's DeBarge Outfit 2. Henry going to DeBarge and asking them to convince Punky of the importance of reading. 3. DeBarge giving Punky and her friends a special at home concert and explaining the virtues of Tom Sawyer. I knocked Brandon Tail Wags. 1. For Spud, I'm not a fan of him (feels like a replacement for Allen). 2. Betty fainting at the sight of DeBarge 4 (yes, I'm serious, 4 times, once was enough, but four was overkill and a cause for concern for Betty's mental state). PUNKY'S PRINCIPLES: I personally feel if you don't like reading, you just haven't met the right book yet. Also if DeBarge takes the time to perform a personal in home concert, you dang well better pick up a book after! You HEAR me PUNKY!! I want to give a sincere thank to all you listeners out there whether you listen to this podcast on Itunes or Soundcloud or any other listening platforms that you may use to hear this podcast. I love giving you the episode recaps of Punky Brewster every week joining me as I go into full detail describing her many adventures and shenanigans with Henry, Brandon and her friends as well as my occasional running commentary and childhood stories.
