80s cartoon podcast

Another sign that 2020 spells the end - the gang from 80s Cartoon Podcast actually recorded a new episode!! After 4 years, we return to give you the same immature content you've always loved or hated us for. This time we are reviewing Alf Tales - A cartoon series where each episode Alf acts out a popular fairy tale or story and zaniness ensues. Specifically we watch Alf Tales, Season 1, Episode 12 For those of you that see this pop up in your podcast feed, thanks for sticking with us during our absence and not hitting the unsubscribe button

Episode 73 - Camp Candy. We're doing our best John Candy impersonation and coming back from the dead (I don't even get that joke). This week we review Season 1, Episode 13: Christmas in July. I can't think of anything better than having the gang back after a year long absence to review a John Candy cartoon based on Christmas, that takes place in July, during the month of Halloween! Oh yeah and sorry about the story that takes WAY TOOOOOO long to get to the payoff.

  We're back! ...This time we brought Kissyfur with us! Also, small disclaimer... There was a lot to edit out of this episode but it was taking an insane amount of time so we gave up on the edits half way through... enjoy as we completely lose all sense of the fact that the whole internet can hear how dumb we can get. We have nothing to hide now :) 

Episode 71 - TigerSharks.  Bear with us as this week's episode goes completely off the rails as we sit down to watch TigerSharks Season 1, Episode 1/2: The Fish Tank.  Join the podcasters as we jump into Walro's fish tank to swim with Mako and the crew ... it was shortly after this that we forgot what we were reviewing and all hell breaks loose.  Um enjoy ... ?

Episode 70 - Dinosaucers.  So we are back with undoubtedly the greatest worst episode of all time.  This time the guys and gal Dinovolve up (or maybe down) with the Dinosaucers to battle against the evil Tyrannos.  This week we watched Dinosaucers Season 01, Episode 1: Dinosaur Valley. You'd think after helping the Dinosaucers vanquish Genghis Rex (and by that we mean make fun of) they'd at least make us honorary members of the Secret Scouts ... well they didn't and now we have to find a better way to get close to Sara Spencer.

Episode 69 - Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light.   Put on your hologram chest plate and get ready to animorph into a dingo, because this week go unicorn horn huntin! This week we review Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light season 01 Episode 09: Horn of Unicorn, Claw of Dragon.  This cartoon was amazing! What other cartoon has it's protagonists give the antagonists a heartfelt toast?

Episode 68 - Disney's Halloween Treat.  Get out your pumpkins and costumes we're going trick or treating!  This week the gang tackles Disney's Halloween Treat, a show aired in the 80s filled with cartoons from the 40s and has nothing to do with Halloween ... so I'm sure listening to this weeks episode will be a great way to spend the next 2 hours.

Episode 66 - Madballs.   What if I told you we go an hour and a half talking about Madballs and we don't make a single testes joke.  You are in luck i think a couple slipped past!  This week Season 1 Episode 1 Madballs - Escape from Orb.  Join the crew as we parody 50s rock and roll hits while doing battle with the nefarious Badballs!

Episode 66 - Rambo.  Tighten up your headbands and strap on your bow and arrow because this week we join up with John Rambo to throw our gun at the evil General Warhawk.  This week we review Rambo: The Force of Freedom S.01 E13 - Raid on Las Vegas.  How would you like to listen to three people talk for two full hours about a movie they've never seen?!?  Oh boy this week's episode will prove to be very informative!

Episode 65 - E3 2013 Wrap up.  This week we break from our standard format as E3 was kind enough to grant Cody and Diana media access to E3 2013!  So this week we talk for two hours about our thoughts on everything we saw and played, and sneak in a lot of talk about Man of Steel (SPOILER ALERT IS IN FULL EFFECT).  So if your here for a cartoon wrap up only ... ignore this week and we'll be back next week with our regular scheduled programming.

Episode 64 - Bionic Six.  Well we've done it ... I think we've recorded our most offensive episode ever.  Who would have thought it would have came from watching an episode of Bionix Six, well in our defense we did watch S01E09 - A Little Handicapped.  Join us as we try to find the line that shouldn't be crossed when talking about the less fortunate ... so we can go WAY over it.

Episode 63 - The Incredible Hulk Hold onto your gamma ray inducing Transmat Teleporter (copyright 1983) because this week we get angry watching S1 Ep 13 of the Incredible Hulk - The Hulk who Destroys Bruce Banner! 

Episode 62 - Super Mario Brothers Super Show.   You have a princess in another castle that needs saving? Then join us to do the saving in the most 80s way possible ... BMX Race-Off!!!  This week we review S.01 E.11 of the Super Mario Brothers Super Show - Mama Mia Mario/The Great BMX Race.  Quite possibly the greatest 80s cartoon that ever spun off and created a hit game franchise (or was it the other way around?!?) .. although Bart vs. the Space Mutants and G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor for the NES might say otherwise.

Episode 61 - The Raggy Dolls This week we reach deep into the reject bin, don't worry we didn't invite Jared back for another podcast, instead we reviewed UK favorite The Raggy Dolls Season 01 Episode 02 - The Big Top. Join us as we learn a valuable lesson in tolerance and humility (yeah right you know that isn't going to happen).

Episode 60 - G.I. Joe the Movie.  Cobra-la-la-la-la-la!!! Thats right kids this week the crew jumps in their trouble bubbles and joins forces with the Joes to drop some double ax handle slams on Nemesis Enforcer!  This week we review G.I. Joe: the Movie ... and not the shitty Channing Tatum one either, the real one where Duke dies .. I mean goes into a coma.

Episode 59 - Garfield and Friends.  This week we take longer than normal to get to the cartoon, but it's for a very good reason, Cody's got a story about how his Christmas tree got Goldberg speared by his drunk friend.  After that we jump right into the mud with Orson, Roy, and Wade ... Garfield's friends!!!  This week we review Season 2 Episode 28: Binky Goes Bad! / Barn of Fear / Mini-Mall Matters.

Episode 58 - Cartoon All Stars To The Rescue.   Listen this week as Barbara Bush tries her darndest to get us to say no to drugs.  This week we review Cartoon All Stars to the Rescue.  Take a trippy journey with the crew as we toke the reef and party on down with Huey, Dewey, Louie, Michelangelo, Papa Smurf, Bugs Bunny, Winnie the Pooh, Garfield (used without permission), Slimer, Alf ... god damn ... every badass cartoon ever ... minus anyone from G.I. Joe.

Episode 57 - Galaxy High.  Strap on your brain blaster paraphernalia and get ready to drop some dope space drugs (do kids still say dope?) as this week we get accepted into Galaxy High.  This week we review Season 1, Episode 9: The Brain Blaster.  After watching Galaxy High all I can say is Earth needs to tap into space drugs!  The drugs here make you shitty at school space drugs make you smart!?! You get messed up AND get to be smart ... this podcast can use a double dose.

Episode 56 - Defenders of the Earth.  Fast forward to the year 2015 and help us do battle with the nefarious Ming the Merciless from the ice planet Mongo, because this week we watched Defenders of the Earth Season 01 Episode 01 - "Escape from Mongo".  This episode we dive head first into a DF fest of do-goodery and trek all over Earth and Mongo to half-assly attempt to save Flash Gordon's wife Dale Arden (not Gordon).

After much delay we are back and this time we've brought the cutest fruitface around.  This week we review The World of Strawberry Shortcake, Season 01 Episode 01.  Join us as we romp through the finest strawberry field this side of the rainbow, as we force the meanest, nastiest heel (The Peculiar Purple Pie Man of Porcupine Peak) to do a face turn and become our strawberry field bitch.

We are back and this time we brought the sexiest robits available ... No it isn't a Japanese sex robot! It's the twins Bo and Boo from the Mighty Orbots.  This week we review Season 1 Episode 1 - Magnetic Menace.  Join us as we once again save the world from this week's most dangerous force, the leader of SHADOW, Umbra.  We'll need all the help we can get because this time we do battle with a god damn planet and a couple of rock stars.

New Year means a new episode!!!  53 in and we haven't reviewed Alvin and the Chipmunks until NOW?!?  We have dishonored our families.  But  here we are this week we gangbang Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor (damn right we are tired after that).  We venture all the way back to 1983 and review Alvin and the Chipmunks: Season 1 Episode 1A and 1B.  In the first episode we team up with THE MR. T and help the chipmunks beat some bully ass.  After hanging with Mr. T there is only one thing left to do and that is go track down three mirror images to your crew, so that's what we do.

We are back and this week we go big and by big i mean Soleil Moon Frye (wink wink nudge nudge).  This week we review It's Punky Brewster season 1, episode 3: Pretty Ugly / Glomer's Story.  Join us this week as we finally out what's at the end of a rainbow ... if you guessed a leprechaun chipmunk then a PUNKY POWER to you!!!

Episode 51 - Heathcliff Wow it has taken us 51 episodes to get to Heathcliff, for shame!  Well we finally got here this week we take our plane / boat Cadillac and head to the junkyard as we hang with Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats.  This week we review Season 1 Episode 49: Boom Boom Pussini - Beach Blanket Mungo.  Join us as we double dip and help train Heathcliff for hiss big pro wrasslin debut (you know Cody will WWF out!).  After that we head to the beach to shred some gnar waves in the annual Beach-Blanket-Surf-Off-a-Thon (presented from Mountain Dew).

Just when you thought nothing else could ruin your enjoyment of the Star Wars universe (yes that is a direct dig at the re-imagining of the holy trilolgy for the bluray releases) here we come and poke fun at those lovable little rock throwers the Ewoks.  This week we tear down those tree hugging hippys, should have been the Wookies, Wicket and his cute little friends as we review Ewoks Season 01 Episode 01: Cries of the  Trees.

This week we dodge the green lightning storm of doom and head off to Wolverton (RIP Beacontown) to get our woof pack on with Scott, Stiles, and Boof.  This week we review Teen Wolf Episode 7: Wolf Pride.  What happens when a Steven Spielberg look-a-like rolls into Wolverton (shouldn't this be the birth place of Logan and not Scott Howard? - I digress) and wants to film a evil werewolf movie, inhabited by friendly werewoofs? If you guessed they join teh stunt crew and lay down the ol' bananna peel gag then you are correct!  Bananna peel gags will always make the general public come to love a lycanthrope.

What happens when you combine Donkey Kong, Frogger, Donkey Kong jr., Q-bert, Pitfall!, and Space Ace with cheesy 80s cartoons? Cody blows his load and goes to heaven!  This week the crew pulls out their stacks of quarters and heads to the arcade to tame Saturday Supercade.  This week we review Donkey Kong Ep 19 - Hairy Parent and we double up on you because we also review Frogger Ep 12 - Here Today, Pawned Tomorrow.  Yes sirs we get down and geeky with the two greatest fads of the 80s cartoons and arcades!

Episode 47 - Spiderman The gang is back to help Spiderman celebrate this summers release of Captain America.  This week we sling into action to help the Capt and Spidey battle Red Skull and his crane game claw of mind switching DOOM!  This week we review Spiderman - Season 01 Episode 18: The Capture of Captain America.  For those counting along, we know that episode 46 is missing ... our quality control department decided it was against our best interest to put it out on the internets ... so enjoy the Spidermans!

Come join Cooler and the gang as we escape being turned into adorable doggy fur-coats by the hands of the dastardly duo of Captain Slaughter and his Cruella de Vil rip-off, Katrina Stonehart ... because this week the gang takes you Wagga-Wagga to run down Pound Puppies Season 01 Episode 10 - Wagga Wagga.  

Episode 44 - Turbo Teen Come take a ride on whitey as this week we review Turbo Teen.  We review Season 1, Episode 8:  Dark Rider and the Wolves of Doom!  Join us as Turbo Teen proves to be one of the the most scientifically accurate and the most harmless and nonthreatening villain the 80's had to offer.  Turbo Teen and his crew has to find a way to escape a monster truck chase and rescue his dog (I know action PACKED!!!).  Turbo Teen shows us again and again that if you ride him hard enough, he will get the job done and get the bad guy in the end.

Episode 43 - Karate Kid This week we go out and find us the most sterio-typical Asian we can ... Yep this week we review Season 1, Episode 1 of the Karate Kid.  Join us as we venture deep into the heart of racial stero-types as every character ends up a caricature.  From the ever subtle leather thong wearing Mayan to Mr. Miyagi not breing rable to ray a ringle word riftout rolling ris Rs.  

This week we play with balls.  Lots and lots of balls, seven to be exact.  The gang reviews Dragon Ball.  We watch Season 1, Episode 1, about newly orphaned monkey-tailed boy named Goku who befriends a woman named Bulma.  Bulma is after the 7 Dragon Balls in which Goku is the owner of 1.  Bitch is after his money.  Join the gang as they try to find the wish-making golden balls of the legendary dragon.

Episode 41 – Wuzzles This week the gang tackles the current transgender issues by reviewing the Wuzzles.  Join us as we watch God's and Disney's adorable misfit kids in Season 1, Episode 1, Bulls of a Feather.  The Wuzzles try to return a baby bullfinch back their mother.  Help us and the Wuzzles as we fight for equal rights just as the Carebears and Gummi Bears enjoy.

Episode 40 – C.O.P.S. This week the crew has ventured into the future, to the year 2020, to team up with the Central Organization of Police Specialists to save an iceberg from the menacing Big Boss and his CROOKS.  This week we review Season 1, Episode 31: The Case of the Iceberg Pirates.  Yes you read that correctly 30 minutes of sitting on an iceberg defending it from such badies as teh trans-gender Ms. Demeanor and the greatest villian of all time Buttons McBoomBoom.

Grab your Mehve (badass super hover board) and join the crew as we get our hippy on and try to save the Valley of the Wind from toxic trees and two armies.  Can we do it?  You bet your sweet ass we can, as this week review the Hayao Miyazaki classic movie: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.  This week we sit down to review the real version (Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) and the dumbed down 1985 English re-make (you know so stupid American's could watch it without all that boring crap!).

Dungeons and DragonsWe travel to another world this week as we enter the realm of Dungeons & Dragons.  Join our party of 12 year old kids as they try to save the last herd of unicorns, as this week we review Season 01 Episode 04 - Valley of The Unicorns.  Luckily, the much older Dungeon Master not only gives the kids candy, he gives them weapons, armor and advice to fight the devils, demons and evil wizards.  Venture with a barbarian, ranger, caviler, acrobat, magician, thief and unicorn while we figure out why all Dungeon Master's "encounters" involves him pulling something out of the magicians hat.

There is no show too big or no series too small, so this week we called to watch Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers.   These animals dress up and try to play detective like Family Guy tries to stay relevant.  Unlike Family Guy, the Rescue Rangers deliver.  We join Chip, Dale, Gadget, Monterey Jack, and Zipper as these miniature detectives venture around solving crimes.  Follow along this week as we watched Cody's favorite episode growing up Season 02 Episode 14: The Case of the Cola Cult.

This week we enter the realm of badassness. We pit the human race vs mutants. As we review Pryde of the X-Men. The pilot show for the 90s cartoon crazily named X-Men. We find out what really goes on in the Danger Room after dark. Will Professor X always be known as a pedophile? And why Storm is as useless as Gary Coleman's wife.  Special guests: Brian Perillo and Rob Briscoe of The Uncanny X-Cast joins us this week to help answer the questions.

This week we catch a comet and get the F off of B6-12 and away from that nagging little Rose Girl!  Yep this week we travel around with Le Petit Prince as we review Season 1 Episode 7: Visit to Another Planet.  Join us as Spencer tries to defend liking The Little Prince but hating My Little Pony ... they are both just so cute, how could you dislike either?!?

This week we finally settle the biggest debate of all time: Which is mucho calienter Gobots or Transformers?  This week we review Season 2, Episode 14: Cy-Kill's Shrinking Ray!  Join us as we pull out our shrink rays and foil Cy-Kill's plans of ... I think world domination ... or just getting even with Leader-1 and the Guardians ... hell if we could figure it out!

Transvestites, hermaphrodites, and panda's recording porno ... this week the gang obviously visits the AVN award show ... I'm kidding this week we watched Ranma 1/2.  This week we review Season 1, Episode 8: Close Call! The Dance of Death... On Ice!  Join us as we partake in the deadliest martial arts contest of all time as we attempt rape on ice!

Peak inside Henry Big's vent and help us discover The Littles!  That's right, this week we stumble upon the greatest scientific discovery since the dinosaurs, this week we review Season 1, Episode 13: Dinky's Doomsday Pizza.  Join us as Grandpa Little, Daddy Little, Mommy Little and the rest get discovered, captured, and zooed (it's a verb I looked it up!) by the evil Dr. Hunter!  But don't fret this story has a happy ending ... you just have to tune in to find out what it is.

Grab your 30 lbs of gold chains and throw it over your mohawk, because this week we parkour our way to stopping some pedophiles!  This week we review Mister T Season 2, Episode 10: Mystery of the Stranger.  Get your secret safe word from your parents and join us as we save little white Mr. T from a white van full of pedophiles!

Episode 30 – Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors Evil plant cars with phallic weapons only mean one thing, we need Jayce and Bomberman to save us!  This week we review Season 1, Episode 3: Steel Against Shadow.  Grab your all white power tool equipped vehicle and join us as we search for the helmet of legends, hidden for centuries (never mind the fact we walk into a cave and it’s laying right at the entrance).  Because this week we find the helmet and let it eerily hit on us.

Episode 29 - Robotech - The Macross Saga.  Giant planes and giant red headed aliens with capes can only mean one thing Robotech!.  This week we review Season 1, Episode 1: Boobytrap.  Grab your mech and join us as we unlock the secret behind Robotechnology to defend Earth from the giant Zentradi warriors and that nasty red headed sidekick Exsedol.

Episode 28 - Jem.  Join us this week as we stumble on our dead Dad's secret music lair, complete with Allspark earrings.  This week we review Jem and the Holograms Season 1, Episode 1: The Beginning.  Get your rock on as we welcome guest host David Gutierrez as we sneak backstage and wreck havoc on Jem's tour bus (I mean Rockin' Roadster). 

Episode 27 - Rubik's Cube.  What can you really say about a gypsy's lost magic cube that when solved has the face of Benjamin Button.  This week we solve that age old question!!! Join us as we review Season 1, Episode 17: Super Power Lisa.  Join us as the ghoulie face  rubik and his fun friends do battle against the evil forces of "bad guy number 1" and "bad guy number 2 with a moustache".  I know what you are saying "how could rubik possibly defeat those awesome antagonists?" ... it's easy he (it) has powers that could defeat even Superman!!!

Episode 26 - Dragon's Lair.  Before we get into this weeks cast I'd like to blame our lack of a QA department, because had if we had one this cast would never see the  binary streams of the interwebs.  But we're glad your still join us on our random room journey to save Princess Daphne from the grasps of the huggable dragon Singe.  This week we review Season 1, Episode 6: The Story of Old Alf.  This week our adorable princess tries to become a master magician in less than a week ... nothing bad could come from that right?

Episode 25 - Thundarr The Barbarian. Join us as we travel to the year 1994 + 2000 to join up with the horse-riding Thundarr, Ookla the Mok, and Princess Ariel.  This week we review Season 1, Episode 1: Secret Of The Black Pearl.  We brave the vast wastelands, doing battle with mice on scooters with sticks that shoot lasers, just to carry the black pearl to the ruins of Manhat.  Good thing we have that black pearl because we're going to need it when we fight the STATUE OF LIBERTY!!!

Episode 24 - Rainbow Brite.  Throw aside all those dark gothy clothes because this week we jump on our wannabee unicorns and join up with Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids.  This week we review Season 1, Episode 6: Invasion of Rainbowland.  Wow is there a lot going on in Rainbow Land ... we've got picking up color crystals and turning them into star sprinkles to do!  This week we stumble on an alien invasion!!! well sorta, well actually not ... we just get to make friends with an alien that can speak Japanese, Spanish, or English and get our color stolen.

Episode 23 - Pac-Man.  Take off your pants and follow us and we chomps some balls and chase bananas because this week the gang teams up with Pac-Man to chase us down some pesky ghosts.  This week we review two pacalicious episodes Season 1, Episode 19: The Abominable Pac-Man and Season 2, Episode 7: Journey Into The Pac-Past (if we had done our homework we would have picked concurrent episodes .. but we didn't).  Journey to the far off reaches of Abominable Pac-Land where the not so grumpy or scary Abominable Pac-monster helps us chow down on more balls and more ghosts.  Then we stumble onto Marty Mc-Pac-Fly and time travel in the most kid safe device ever ... a washing machine!
