He admits the Federation could help more with ensuring all the Commonwealth, and local communities, are represented amongst organisers and bidders following a diversity row in the second city. With two years to go before the Games, Birmingham revealed its iconic venues for Beach Volleyball and 3x3 Basketball in 2022 on the site of old market in Smithfield! CEO of Birmingham 2022 Ian Reid told us bringing those sports into the city centre, not only showcased the landscape of Birmingham but will ensure the games are accessible to all. They're confident coronavirus won't delay the Games, but will be watching other sporting events with interest in the coming months/year. And despite speaking in a broad Glaswegian accent, Ian predicted the Birmingham Commonwealth Games would exceed both Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018!
