Pro-surfer Cooper Chapman speaks to fellow surfers about the challenges they’ve been through out of the water, like failure, body-image and grief, and what positive things they did to help themselves through these tough times… that aren’t taught in schools. You’ll get to know the real people behind the personas and pick up a few tips to build your own mental resilience along the way - because Cooper believes that everybody has the right to be happy.
The Good Humans with Cooper Chapman podcast is truly a breath of fresh air in the world of podcasting. Cooper's infectious positive energy and genuine desire to spread good vibes make this podcast a joy to listen to. Even though I have never been to Australia, listening to Cooper and his friend Alex Hayes on YouTube gives me the impression that it is a peaceful and friendly place that I would love to live in someday. Cooper's dedication to creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere is truly commendable, and I can't wait to see what he does next.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is Cooper's unique interview style. Unlike other podcasters, he brings his own personal experiences and perspective into the conversations, which allows for a different take on the topics being discussed. His humble nature and ability to connect with his guests on a deeper level often lead to insightful and thought-provoking discussions. Furthermore, the topics covered on this podcast are diverse and interesting, ranging from mental and physical health tips to life lessons from professional surfers like Griffin Colapinto. There is something for everyone in each episode, making it both informative and inspiring.
While there aren't many negative aspects to The Good Humans with Cooper Chapman podcast, one potential downside is that there are currently only four episodes available to binge on. As I became more engrossed in the conversations and eager for more content, I found myself wishing there were more episodes already released. However, considering the high quality of each episode, it is understandable that time and effort go into producing such great content.
In conclusion, The Good Humans with Cooper Chapman podcast is an excellent listen for anyone seeking motivation or inspiration. Cooper's positive energy shines through in every episode, leaving listeners feeling uplifted and ready to take on the world. The unique interview style, wide range of topics covered, insightful discussions, and overall well-put-together format make this podcast worth a listen. Whether you are a fan of surfing or not, there is something to be gained from each episode. I highly recommend giving it a try and joining the Good Humans community created by Cooper Chapman.

This episode is one of the most powerful and personal we've ever shared.Niamh Connell – a member of the 1% Good Club – sent me an email that left me speechless. At just 23, she was facing five autoimmune conditions, debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, and a battle with severe depression that left her physically and emotionally broken. Doctors told her it would only get worse. But after hearing my episode on Darling, Shine!, Niamh decided to try something different. Breathwork, gratitude, anti-inflammatory foods, cold therapy – she took action, one step at a time.Fast forward two years: her arthritis is in remission, she's off all medication, and she's living a life she once thought was impossible. This conversation is a raw, emotional, and inspiring look into what can happen when you commit to healing – even just 1% a day. It's about hope, personal power, and the ripple effect of sharing stories. We talk about:Her journey through chronic illness and mental health strugglesDiscovering the 1% Good Club and breathworkHow small daily actions sparked massive transformationGetting her life back – from walking again to studying and travellingWhy community, mindset, and self-care changed everythingThis one will move you. In this epic episode, I'm joined by my good friend and tech mastermind Tim Laycock—a creative force who has spent the last decade building and scaling digital platforms used by millions of people globally. From launching startups to leading product development for major companies, Tim's work in tech is all about creating meaningful, user-focused experiences that solve real problems. These days, he's still deep in the world of tech startups, while also pouring his energy into a new passion project—Parea—a bold initiative that blends adventure, challenge, and deep human connection in the great outdoors. We dive deep into Tim's story—his upbringing, his entrepreneurial mindset, and where he sees the future of technology heading. But the real adventure begins when we talk about Parea, which is designed to take high-performing individuals out of their comfort zones and into nature for transformative experiences.Earlier this year, I joined Tim and a group of six founders on the third Parea expedition in the backcountry of New Zealand. We were helicopter dropped into remote wilderness, with a few local guides and the goal to survive off the land, disconnect from our devices, and reconnect with ourselves and each other.Even more exciting—our trip was documented and just won Best Adventure Film at the LA Film Festival. In this episode of the Good Humans Podcast, I sit down with Dr. Matthew Iasiello, a leading mental wellbeing scientist whose research is transforming how we measure and promote positive mental health.Matt's work centers around the dual-continua model of mental health, which challenges the idea that mental illness and mental wellbeing are simply opposite ends of the same spectrum. Instead, his research shows they are distinct but interconnected, leading to new approaches in mental health treatment, prevention, and recovery. One of Matt's key areas of focus is languishing—a mental state where people aren't necessarily experiencing mental illness but also aren't thriving. Many of us live in this “stuck in the middle” space, feeling uninspired, unmotivated, and disconnected. Matt and his team at Be Well Co recently conducted a major study examining languishing in Australia, uncovering its impact on individuals and society. In this insightful conversation, we explore:✅ What is languishing? How to identify when you're stuck in this state✅ The science behind mental wellbeing and its link to mental illness✅ How we can use the dual-continua model to rethink mental health strategies✅ Findings from Be Well Co's recent research on mental wellbeing in Australia✅ Practical, evidence-based tools to shift from languishing to thrivingThis episode will challenge the way you think about mental health and provide powerful, research-backed insights on how to move from simply surviving to truly thriving.
