Logan, Queensland, doesn't typically produce global empires. Jason Daniel didn't get that particular memo. The founder and CEO of LSKD built a self-funded, $400M global activewear brand from a BMX nickname, a carpenter's apprenticeship, and five years stuck at $3 million in annual revenue—and he did it without a single outside investor. What broke the plateau wasn't a strategy. It was books, a self-development course called Landmark Forum, and the birth of his son Hendrix six months before he scrapped everything and rebranded. In this conversation, Jason talks about what the plateau actually feels like from the inside—the canceled orders, the weeks he couldn't pay himself, the quiet question of whether he'd have to go back to the job site. He talks about why he trademarked "1% better every day," how a mission that started as an internal team value became the spine of a 700-person company operating across three countries, and what it actually takes to scale a culture without hollowing it out. He also gets into his own running journey: from a sub-1:30 half marathon that nearly broke him, to chasing a sub-three-hour full—and why he believes the grind of distance running and the grind of building a brand are teaching him the same thing. Some brands sell a lifestyle. LSKD built one first.Tap into the Jason Daniel Special. If you enjoy the podcast, please consider following us on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and giving us a five-star review! Grace Grove is a paediatrics doctor, a marathon runner preparing for London Marathon, and a content creator who's built a community by just being herself. We talked about burning out in 2025 trying to do it all, why she's doing less this year and doing it with more intention. Going from serial people-pleaser to showing up as her true self. What working in paediatrics has taught her about giving people grace. The LSKD 10-year vision exercise that made her cry. Sitting on the bathroom floor before Sydney Marathon with pre-race nerves so bad she was convinced she had food poisoning. And why becoming a mum is the one thing she'd give everything else up for. Running Through Winter: How to Get Out the Door, Layer Smart, Stay Safe & Avoid Getting Sick | Women's Running Collective Ep. 79 In this episode of the Women's Running Collective, Hayles and Jussie are back chatting all things winter running and let's just say… it's been a week. Ever posted something online and thought it was pretty straightforward…only to find yourself in the comments defending a point you never actually made? Welcome to the internet. I'm back after a three-month break, and this episode is a proper brain dump. No neat bow, just what's been rattling around in my head. First up: Bean Soup Theory. A slightly ridiculous name for something very real, the expectation that every piece of content should be tailored to me, personally. And when it's not? Outrage, misinterpretation, and comment-section chaos. We unpack why this happens and why it messes with your head more than you'd like to admit. Then I break down a campaign from LSKD that genuinely impressed me. It tackles women's safety while running (a very real issue), but still manages to sell product without feeling forced or tokenistic. There's a lot to learn here… and one mistake they made that most brands are still making. And finally, AI. Apparently, we're all meant to ditch ChatGPT and hand over the keys to our entire digital life to Claude Code. I'll walk through what's being promised, what's actually useful, and where I think people are getting a little too trigger-happy. If you're building a brand online right now, this episode will help you: – Stop overcorrecting for loud critics – Think more clearly about campaign execution – And not lose your mind every time the internet takes your content sideways References mentioned Vibinggranolamom (TikTok creator behind the “Bean Soup Theory”) Kookai Reel Roxy Jacenko house lottery discussion part 1 Roxy Jacenko house lottery discussion part 2 LSKD campaign “She Runs But She's Never Really Running” Megan Winter, Lume Marketing Kajabi Claude Code Kellee Eriksson Come Say Hi If Bean Soup Theory has ever smacked you in the face mid-comment section, I want to hear about it. I couldn't be more excited to share this episode with you! Ryan Shelton has been on the top of my guest wish list since I started Pass Around the Smile. His episode on the Imperfects Podcast on Shame, Jealousy and Purpose changed my life. And today, I hope this episode can have a similar effect on my beautiful community!Ryan and I have a very open, casual, yet vulnerable conversation about the struggles we have both faced within the film and television industry. We dive into everything from rejection and competition, to the emotional resilience it takes to keep going ~ and the tough inner dialogue that shows up when we feel like we've failed. Ryan is so generous in sharing his thoughts ~ which I know will help my Smilie's feel understood on many different levels. We also chat about how our goals can shift over time, and how doing the inner work can reveal that the big milestone we were chasing may not actually be what brings us happiness. Often, we place so much pressure on one “peak moment” that we forget to celebrate the beautiful things happening in between. This episode is a powerful reminder that joy, success, and fulfilment aren't reserved for some far-off finish line ~ they're available to us now, in the everyday.A BIT ABOUT RYAN: Ryan Shelton is a writer, actor, comedian, producer and podcast host who somehow manages to keep heart at the centre of everything he does. From Rove Live to We Can Be Heroes, to writing for award-winning shows with Hamish and Andy, his creative work has shaped some of Australia's most iconic entertainment. But it's his honest, vulnerable work on The Imperfects podcast that's creating a deeper kind of impact ~ helping people feel seen, heard, and understood. Chronological age is how many birthdays you've had. Biological age is how well your body actually functions. Regular strength training, mobility work, and proper recovery can keep your muscles, joints, and cardiovascular system younger than your birth certificate says.On this episode, we talk about the impacts of training on ageing (and ageing on training). Studies show resistance training improves muscle mass, bone density, and metabolic health—key factors in slowing biological ageing. So whether you're 30 or 60, the best time to start was yesterday. The second-best time? Today.

Matt Johnson's story of running across Texas is a powerful testament to faith, resilience, and the human spirit. In just 17 days, 8 hours, and 55 minutes, Matt set the record for running 841.92 miles across the state, starting on October 1st in El Paso and finishing in Galveston. But the road to breaking this record was anything but smooth. Five weeks before the run, Matt suffered several leg injuries that put his goal in jeopardy. After praying and committing to his mission, he set out to complete what he said he would do, leaning on his faith and mental toughness every step of the way. Matt and I recorded a podcast before his Run Across Texas, which can be found here Matt's podcast with Red Rocks Church can he found here Learn more about the Run Across Texas and Valor Fit In this episode, Matt walks us through the incredible highs and lows of his journey. From the first day in El Paso, where a group of supportive runners joined him to kick off his run, to the challenges he faced around day five, when swollen feet caused excruciating pain, Matt recounts the moments that tested his limits. He shares the harrowing experience of running down Death Highway, where semi-trucks sped by just feet away, and the mental toll of returning to his van that day filled with anxiety and exhaustion. On day seven, in the midst of the most pain he had ever experienced, Matt discovered that pain is inevitable but can be defeated, proving that his mind was stronger than his body. Day 10 brought even greater challenges, as Matt battled violent vomiting, rolled his ankles on gravel roads, and questioned whether he could continue. Yet, he pushed through, driven by his faith and determination to finish. One of the most meaningful moments of the journey came during a community 5K in Austin, TX, sponsored by LSKD, where over 150 people showed up to run alongside him, donate to ValorFit, and offer their support. Matt describes the deep emotions of seeing the impact his run had on others and how that fueled him for the final stretch. Finally, Matt shares the emotional culmination of his journey when he reached Galveston and completed his record-setting run. Through every mile, every challenge, and every breakthrough, Matt's story is a testament to the power of faith, community, and mental strength. Whether you're a runner, someone seeking inspiration, or simply curious about what it takes to push past human limits, this episode will leave you motivated and inspired to pursue your own goals with relentless determination. Listen now to hear Matt Johnson's incredible story of running across Texas, his unwavering testimony to God, and the lessons he learned along the way.
