"I'm Speaking" is a take on (now) Vice-President Kamala Harris at the US VP debate back in 2020 with (then) VP Pence as she had to say "Excuse me, I'm Speaking" when he kept interrupting her and cutting her off. This term became famous for a lot of women and I thought it was fitting since this is a podcast and I'm literally 'speaking' my mind on self-help topics, women in business as well as being an introvert and a highly sensitive person in life and in business in an 'extroverted' and 'non-sensitive' world. A lot of my episodes are 'Love Letters' to Introverts and Highly Sensitives (Empaths and Highly Sensitive People). My website: www.westelizabeth.comMy IG handle: @imelizabethwestThis podcast is an: Education, Self-help and Business podcast.
Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening and reading!I met Michelle in 2022 at a women's business conference, and we've been friends ever since.I ended up joining Michelle's community called 'Say Yes to Desire' (formerly called 'Planner Girl Insiders') and I must say Michelle is a breath of fresh air! She designs her life and business around what lights her up and not on what others might want thus putting herself last! This was huge for me to hear and I'm now going in this direction. I've already responded to some job referrals from friends, and it feels so good. :)Jobs that I wouldn't even 'see' if I was still trying to micromanage everything in my life.I wouldn't say that everything is all 'sunshine and rainbows', but I will say that I feel more 'aligned' and 'calm' about everything.I'm actually excited at what's to come (twist and turns included), as I see what the universe has in store for me. :)And most importantly I'm having more 'self-trust'!I hope you enjoy this episode.Sincerely,ElizabethLet's Connect!~~~~~~~~~~~~~Podcast Mentions:Human Design Coach, Kelsey AbbottMichelle Obama + Craig Robinson's podcast IMO~~~~~~~~~~~~~It's Finally Here!My $1.00 Offer is Ready for Purchase>>>My 5 Favorite Energy Saving Tips for High Achieving Introverts, Empaths and Highly Sensitive People!Buy Here! Here is the full link if the one above isn't working (for some reason): https://my-5-favorite-tips-to-conserve-energy-3.teachery.co/...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Coming Soon!An Audio Summit (a Podcast Summit) and Book both Titled:[From Selfless to Self-love:A Guide for High Achieving Introverts, Empaths and Highly Sensitive People to Go from Depleted to Dynamic]~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening! So, just as my last podcast episode titled "The Year of the Snake"
Hello lovelies! Thank you for listening! So, this year in the Chinese Zodiac is the year of the Snake. There are 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac and every 12 years they repeat from "1" to "12". Just as snakes shed their skin (when they've 'outgrown' it), a lot of people feel the 'pull' to pivot or to change things up or to 'rebrand' this year, if you're in business. At first I didn't feel any different...until a couple of weeks ago (the week that I recorded this episode actually). Now, I feel the ' to pull change things up and to possibly rebrand. I personally have seen at least a dozen or more peeps in the online business space that are rebranding already this year and I'm sure there will be many, many more.If you haven't noticed it, I'm sure you will start to! ;-)As an upcoming interviewee and new friend has said earlier this year (who is also going through a rebrand), Taylor Elyse Morrison, to "expect the unexpected". Look out for her interview in the coming weeks! ;-)In this episode I talk more about how I'm feeling about this change and what it means for me and this podcast specifically! Are you feeling the pull to also pivot; change things up or to rebrand? Let me know by leaving a comment below!I hope you enjoy this episode.

Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening! A lot is going on in the US and in the world
Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening! I was originally gonna have a totally different episode but with a ‘sign of the times' and with Valentine's Day being close to when this episode comes out (and being a self-love advocate) you know that I had to do a Self-love for Valentine's Day ❣️episode! I talk about some of these things in my Summer of Self-love Series on episode 109 Planning ‘Me Time' Dates.Let's take Valentine's Day back y'all! This holiday is “supposed” to only be for romantic relationships and it's a commercialized holiday but let's take it back for ourselves. There is so much hype and patriarchy imbedded ideals that you have to be with someone romantically and that if you're not (especially if you're a woman), that you're essentially a loser.
Hello loves! Thanks for listening!Another saying that's been helping me to cope right now is “this is only temporary”.
Hello lovelies! Thank you for listening!Lately and with coming ‘Back to Self' like my podcast episode a couple of weeks ago, I've been reminding myself of this fact that “I am enough”.It's funny how society and people in general can make you feel otherwise. They put their pressures onto us and (especially women and people of color), like we're not worthy or ‘enough' unless we're perfect and we accomplish a lot of tasks and we're “yes people”.I've never been a “yes person” (sorry not sorry) to say.Like my podcast episode back in the Summer with the same title…“what others think of us is none of our business”, right?
Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening!I've never been a fan of sprinting
Hello lovelies! Thanks for listening! The following episode is a re-release from 2024. I must say…I am disappointed that in 2025, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday in the US (when it is observed), happens to fall on Monday, January 20, 2025, which just so happens to also be the presidential inauguration. Most recently a lot of DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) programs are being removed; Affirmative Action has been or is being removed. Fun Fact: It mostly helped white women. And there are so many more programs and civil rights that are on the chopping block as we speak.

Hello lovely! Thanks for listening! Welcome to the Summer of Self-love!
Hello lovely, thanks for listening! Welcome to the Summer of Self-love! In this particular episode I'm speaking about ‘Listening to my inner child'. For me my inner child goes hand in hand with my gut instincts and my heart and it feels easy and “cozy” and all the good feels. Long story short is that I was having anxiety for not accomplishing all or most of my to-do's. When I listened to my inner child it said “it's okay”, “it's not the end of the world” and “what's the alternative?”. With these thoughts my heart rate went back to normal, my anxiety went away and I was able to go back to sleep for the rest of the night. What are we sacrificing for ignoring our inner child? And is it worth it? There are many studies that show that too much stress and anxiety will eventually lead to poor health and even death. :( I talk more about this on my newsletter or my ‘love letters'
Hi lovely...thanks for listening! I usually put myself last so putting myself first is (and always has been) unthinkable for me. In this episode I speak about how I've been taking walks *first in the day (or at the earlier part of my day) vs last in the day and how it has made such an impact (in a great way) in my life! :) We're starting the Summer of Self-love Right with Putting Ourselves First! I talk more about this on my newsletters or my ‘love letters' (as I like to call them). ;) Wanna get my newsletters? Here's the link to join the list! —> www.westelizabeth.com/newsletter. I hope you enjoy this episode and that it helps you in some way, shape or form. I podcast for love of connecting with others, encouraging others and sharing information with others. Cheers to speaking up and for making your voice heard!
Hi lovely! Thanks for listening! I have to remind myself of this every so often…that self-care isn't self-ish. It's tough as hell sometimes isn't it? We don't wanna be seen as ‘mean' or ‘rude' or ‘selfish' for goodness sakes. We don't wanna be seen as excluding others either but when you think about it we're actually excluding ourselves. The Tonya Dalton quote “when you say yes to someone else, you say ‘no' to yourself”. This is so true. So a good giveaway to see if you're feeling disingenuous is if you're in fact you're saying no to yourself and if the answer is yes then you gotta reevaluate what you're doing because ‘self-care is not self-ish'. And another great quote by Iyanla Vanzant is “what's in our cups is for us, what's overflowing (in the saucer) is for everyone else”. I talk more about this on my newsletters or my ‘love letters' (as I like to call them). ;) Wanna get my newsletters? Here's the link to join the list! —> www.westelizabeth.com/newsletter. I hope you enjoy this episode and that it helps you in some way. Sincerely, Elizabeth --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/elizabeth-west47/message
Hi lovely! Thanks for listening! “What Others Think Of Me Is None Of My Business” — quote by Robert Kiyosaki. When I first heard this quote, I immediately fell in love with it. :) And everyone who I've mentioned it to also falls in love with it and starts to use it when they're ‘in their head'. It's interesting because none of us will really know what others truly think of us by ‘imagining' what we think they ‘may' think of us. But yet we always assume the worst (most times) on what others may think of us don't we? I hope this quote helps you as much as it has helped me. Whenever I'm ‘in my head' I think about this quote and it immediately helps to get me out of my head. ;) We're our worst critics and we'll always care what others think of us (or what we think they think of us) until we pass I'm sure but whenever you're/we're going down that ‘negative rabbit hole' I suggest remembering this quote. :) I talk more about this on my newsletters or my ‘love letters' (as I like to call them). ;) Wanna get my newsletters? Here's the link to join the list! —> www.westelizabeth.com/newsletter. I hope you enjoy this episode and that it helps you in some way. Hello lovely! Thanks for listening! Are you an ‘over achiever'? Do you reward yourself or give yourself a pat on the back for what you've accomplished? The most of us don't. And if you're a woman and/or a neurodivergent and have ADHD we're always ‘on to the next' aren't we? I am rewarding myself right now but it's not easy. For the most of my life I didn't reward myself ever or even know where to start. (And it's different for everyone.) Hint. It's usually what fills our cups and is hand and hand with self-care. ;) I'm learning to reward myself more and give myself a pat on the back for what I *have accomplished instead of thinking “what's next?”. ;) We're all works in progress y'all and I'm sure I'll/we'll always have to remind myself/ourselves of this until I/we pass. But at least we can start small and start today. :) I hope this episode helps you in reminding yourself to also reward yourself for what you've accomplished and to relish more in giving yourself a pat on the back as well. :) Sincerely, Elizabeth --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/elizabeth-west47/message
