Happy Winter Solstice season! In celebration of the planetary moment of the longest night and the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, which took place on December 21st, this week we revisit a conversation about getting STILL. We hold a moment of stillness to notice and honor our places, our selves, and our many companions in time and space. We revisit our conversation with Artist/Photographer Mary Jo Hoffman all about her more than a decade-long daily photographic practice and her new book: Still: The Art of Noticing. From my seat, the act of being still and the art of noticing are perfect intentions for any season. Enjoy! Cultivating Place now has a donate button! We thank you so much for listening over the years and we hope you'll support Cultivating Place. We can't thank you enough for making it possible for this young program to grow even more of these types of conversations. The show is available as a podcast on SoundCloud and iTunes. Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas, friends! Glad Jul! Happy Winter Solstice! In this 241st Episode of the Small Scale Life Podcast, Adam and I are going to be discussing how we are getting ready for 2025 and setting the stage for success. We have 9 days left of 2024, and then this chapter of our lives closes and becomes a memory. It has been an interesting year: we started this livestream, Adam attended a lot of farmer's markets, and I built a new garden. Things are moving along on a number of fronts, and now it is time to take a deep breath and think about this year and what we would like to accomplish in 2025. Catch ANT LIVE on the Small Scale Life YouTube Channel at 7:30 PM Central on Monday evenings. Adam and I talk about mindset, small business, wellness, homesteading and other topics that come up. Remember to learn, do, grow and be a little better everyday. And that's a good thing! ~ Tom LINKS:

The Winter Solstice (December 21 this year) is the real reason for the season. We celebrate this festive time of year with music and freethought humor, including songs and performances by Kristin Lems, Dan Barker, Tim Minchin, Roy Zimmerman, Irving Berlin, Trey Parker, Tom Lehrer, the London Humanist Choir, Ken Lonnquist and Brent Michael Davids.
This week, CP Guest Host Abra Lee celebrates the season in conversation with the King of Camellias, Sidney Frazier. Sidney is based out of sunny Charleston, South Carolina, where he sits as Vice President of Horticulture at Middleton Place - a historic home and garden there is believed to be the oldest landscaped garden in America. Camellias were first planted in America near the end of the 18th century in the four corners of Henry Middleton's parterre, overlooking the Ashley River. Sidney shares with us the historic legacy of Camellias at Middleton Place and gives us some fun tips and tricks on how to care for these magnificent plants. Happy Winter Solstice, by the time you are listening to this episode (late again), you will be on the right side of the season, heading straight towards Spring. On the other hand, here in France, where Summer is yet to arrive, we've received incredible quantities of rain every day. Hello...thanks for listening! Join my Love Letters (Newsletter) here! (Where I send words of encouragement, tips, deals and freebies to you before anyone else!) ~~~~~~~~~~ Happy Winter Solstice! We'll take a break from my podcast series 'Work How You Are' to celebrate Winter Solstice! I love Winter Solstice because it means that the days are getting longer! This year's Winter Solstice started on Thursday, December 21, 2023 so it has recently started! You'll start to notice minute by minute and minutes by minutes that the days will start to get longer! And then in March it will be time to 'Spring Ahead' and set the clocks forward one hour (every state except Arizona) so the days will be even longer. (I'm in the US) ;-) This is an 'accessible' podcast! Here is the transcript and 'play' button directly from Castmagic! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks, Erin Perkins with MabelyQ for 'schooling' me on transcripts for the Deaf Community! I hope you enjoy this short episode! On Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 6:00PM Eastern Time we'll continue with the 'Work How You Are 1.0' (WHYA) Podcast Series (PS) for the sixth and final interview with Punam Saxena titled 'Ep 83 Why Self-Care and Support Systems are Needed in Life and in Business'! Starting the year off right and what better than with self-care and support?! Get excited! Elizabeth ~~~~~~~~~~ Show Notes and Mentions: Ep 41 Looking Forward to Longer Days ~~~~~~~~~~ This podcast episode is brought to you by my Podcast Series titled "Work How YOU Are"! I got this idea because a lot of jargon in the online biz world is "this worked for me so it will work for YOU" when we're all individuals and a lot of us are multi-passionates and we don't want to effing "niche down". Lol! I felt like "why do these programs seem to work for everyone else but not me?" "Am I broken?" And "what's wrong with me?" We're not broken y'all...the 'process' is! Because we're all individuals and what works best for one of us doesn't mean that it will work best for all of us. Can I get an Amen? ....for example, I am an introvert, and a highly sensitive person and an empath, a Manifesting-Generator in Human Design and most recently, that I have an ADHD brain (!) One speaker will talk about 'Shiny Object' and why it's not a "bad" thing, One speaker will talk about working with ADHD, And another on working as an Introvert in an Extroverted world, and many more! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Ways to support this podcast if this episode was of value to YOU. :) Most take less than 2 minutes! ;-) 1. Happy Yuletide! Merry Christmas! Happy Winter Solstice! Happy Holidays to All! With this episode being released on Christmas I wanted to take some time to reflect on this holiday and holidays in general. What do they mean to us and how do we want to celebrate them? Have these things changed as you've grown and evolved on your spiritual path? Is the way you celebrate at this point in your life, possibly with your own family, different from how you celebrated as a kid? And could you find some space in the holiday to commune with the higher meaning of coming together with loved ones and sharing a tradition or honoring a holy time?On this Divine Feminine Solo episode I share some of my thoughts on how many cultures have lost touch with the true meaning of holidays and sacred days of remembrance. I explore how we can cultivate our own way of doing so & then making time to enjoy ourselves and slow down, breaking away from normal routine to make our holiday sacred wherever we find ourselves in life. And most importantly to just have fun & savour your holiday time!Feel free to reach out to me to see how we can work together and send your questions, feedback, and requests for future solo episodes here: Whitney Walker, LMFTLicense # 107082www.WomenWaken.comhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/profi...Whitney@WomenWaken.comIG: @WomenwakenYoutube: @womenwaken

Happy Winter Solstice everyone! I hope this long night finds you safe, cozy, healthy, and content as we move into another cycle around the sun together. While we're taking this time to slow down, gather with family, & hopefully have time away from work and obligation, I wanted to offer some thoughts on giving yourself a big internal hug as well.On this identify & Heal solo episode, I'm sharing about the importance of taking time to find the parts of our emotional body that could use some nurturing, comfort, and attention during this time of rest. Acknowledging all that you have accomplished, overcome, & all the growth you've had this year. I also share how giving ourself that deep Divine Feminine nourishment is the key to releasing codependent fixations before we move into a New Year.Feel free to reach out to me to see how we can work together and send your questions, feedback, and requests for future solo episodes here: Whitney Walker, LMFTLicense # 107082www.WomenWaken.comhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/profi...Whitney@WomenWaken.comIG: @WomenwakenYoutube: @womenwaken
Happy Yule Season and Happy Winter Solstice to you all. Which by the time you hear this, it will probably be the day after I am hoping! I decided to do a quick podcast here about Boundaries. Both the "muggle" and the spiritual kind. Tis the season for butting up on energy that you would rather not, sometimes it's not so bad - other times it's hell. There is a lot of energy moving around at the end of the year, and a lot of internal work is encouraged at this time. -------------------------- Check me on these links: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/theafrofairygoddess/membership Website: www.theafrofairygoddess.com Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc2FQ1Lb0an8uz_JgHXzPSg Email: theafrofairygoddesspodcast@gmail.com --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theafrofairygoddess/message

Happy Winter Solstice, the darkest day of the year! I've chosen this rewind episode to guide us in finding light during those dark times when we feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and just want to say f*ck it all. We've all experienced those moments. This meditation is designed to help us navigate through these challenging times without feeling guilty for desiring a moment to release our responsibilities. It's essential to recognize and address these emotions to achieve clarity and balance in life. This episode serves as a gentle reminder, especially to my fellow busy women carrying the weight of being the "responsible one," to prioritize our well-being and embrace self-compassion.
You may be praying and praying and praying and praying, wondering why your prayers haven't been answered yet. Wondering if anyone is really out there listening. Wondering why you may be going though / experiencing whatever you are in your path this time. Truth is, your prayers are answered as long as you come from good intention, and you hold on to patience and faith. This is key to miracles manifesting. Whenever your prayers are answered, the divine plays a big part in that. If you feel like it took too long, you'll soon come to realize that it was actually the perfect time. Looking back in hindsight, you'll understand why everything fell into place the way that it did.In this episode, I share how lessons that we're meant to learn in this lifetime play a role in when our prayers are actually answered. Our soul decided on the lessons we wanted to learn prior to coming into this lifetime. These lessons are tied to us evolving spiritually, and creating the life that we desire to create for ourselves with the Universe. In order to do so, this comes with understanding the lessons we're being given, learning the lesson, and actually applying into our lives. That is when your manifestation takes place in physical form, that is when your prayer is answered.Karma from past lives and this one also play a role in the experiences your encounter during your earthly journey. Curious about these concepts and how you can apply it to your life in a way that serves you? I share more in this brain scratching episode! Tune into this episode to hear more. ❤️Enjoy, loves! Happy Winter Solstice!! This year, instead of Garet being dressed like Krampus, Katie took over the research and teaches us all about the Newgrange Druid World Heritage Site, Mari Lwyd (pronounced Mah-ree Lloyd) a Welsh tradition that is like Krampus but involves more horse skulls than we're comfortable with. Katie also tells Garet about the famous Feast of the Ass which neither of us have heard of but is apparently a real thing...allegedly. Remember - the days start getting longer as of RIGHT NOW! Happy Winter Solstice! The Solstice is a beautiful time to acknowledge the quieting and stillness nature is embracing. As we are reflections of nature, this time can be profound in slowing down, listening to the heart, and grounding. In this solo episode of the Alchemized Glory Podcast, I am discussing Raising the Vibration, through updating our self-concepts and reviewing the soul contracts that are currently guiding our lives. The Winter Solstice is a season of harnessing our internal spiritual light and planting seeds for the energetic new year in the spring. The book, Your Soul's Plan: Discovering the Real Meaning of the Life You Planned Before You Were Born by Robert Schwartz, prompted me to sit in meditation to explore the idea that we as souls having a human experience have the ability to look at the different plans for our life and update our self-concepts as we gather more information and experience. This idea was confirmed in the article below and truly resonated with how I update goals and the trajectory of life. In this episode, I discuss the idea of a soul plan and how by raising our vibration through self-introspection, meditation, yoga, and awareness, we can shift the trajectory of the plan for our life by tuning to our higher wisdom and be in direct communion with our intuition. I read from this article, https://yoursoulsplan.com/a-way-to-better-understand-vibration-and-potential-life-plans/ during the episode.'Raising The Vibration' will be an evolving series and will unfold in real-time as we co-create the space together. On June 26, 1986, a truck carrying 20,000 liters of sulfuric acid crashed head on with another vehicle and toppled off the road along the Somosierra Mountain Pass in Spain. Two passengers were killed immediately. One vanished. This week, Hannah tells Katy the story of Juan Pedro Martinez, the nine year that disappeared from the wreckage of his parents' mangled truck and was never seen again. Were drugs involved? Did the acid dissolve his body before anyone could find him? Did a mysterious Nordic couple kidnap him? The girls will discuss it all!Stay tuned till the very end for a special bonus Christmas minisode about mushrooms that will warm your heart! Happy Winter Solstice!
