Ami Maikoski, a USAF veteran and former banker, found her true calling in coaching. Ami is a Certified Holistic Transformational Trainer, Facilitator, and Speaker who epitomizes a life dedicated to serving and uplifting humanity. With a boundless love for people, she has wielded her transformational prowess for over two decades. Her path to empowerment was shaped by the healing power of nature and the wisdom of her grandmother, who first made her feel truly seen. Through life’s challenges, Ami embraced the truth that simply being herself was enough. A pivotal moment in Ami's life came when she and her nine-month-old son were T-boned in a devastating car accident. Her son’s face was shattered beyond recognition, and in her deepest despair, Ami thought of her grandmother. In that moment, she felt an army of angels descend upon them. This profound experience gave her the courage to recognize they were protected and meant to be here for a greater purpose. This 'Steps to Trusting' podcast episode focuses on how using the word enough in regards to people without defining the term can lead to feelings of inadequacy. Erin discusses the value of people. People are always enough to be loved and valued.  However, she highlights how the statement "You are enough," often clashes with the reality that people aren't enough to fulfill all the expectations and needs of themselves or others.  Erin discusses personal experiences that reveal only God is truly enough to fulfill our needs. What people lack in ability to fulfill the needs of others does not take away from their value.  The episode references Genesis and Nehemiah 9 to illustrate God's sufficiency and faithful provision. The key takeaway is to trust God, recognizing our value lies in being loved by Him, and to praise Him for the good in our lives rather than taking personal pride. The episode concludes with a prayer, emphasizing the importance of transferring our trust to God.00:00 Introduction to Steps to Trusting00:10 Defining 'Being Enough'01:07 Biblical Example of Provision and Limits01:46 Personal Experiences and Lessons02:29 God's Role in Fulfilling Our Needs05:28 Recognizing God's Provision10:57 Trusting God Fully12:22 Conclusion and Prayer

This episode of the Power of the Ask podcast features Bonnie Wan, AdAge 2022 Chief Strategy Officer of the Year, partner and Head of Brand Strategy at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and the bestselling author of “The Life Brief.” An immigrant from Taiwan who lived in both Los Angeles and New York City, Bonnie has always been fascinated by human behavior, by what drives people, and by what fuels their purpose. That curiosity led to her transformative roles in branding and strategy and to develop the “Life Brief,” a creative brief that helps people find clarity about their life goals and navigate challenges with purpose. For many people, the idea of transformation brings images of giant leaps, but Bonnie suggests small changes that can be implemented every day to help create forward momentum. Bonnie has written briefs to fit all aspects of life, from marriage to leadership to finances. She notes that the practice of being very clear and connected to your innermost truth about what you want and what matters most at each stage of your life will help you navigate through that compass. In the financial realm, that means asking the right questions. As a strategist, Bonnie says questions are her best friends. Her first wealth brief question is, ‘What is enough?' The second is, ‘What do you want to be rich in?' Bonnie believes the power of the ask is important to women, especially financially. She declares, “If you don't ask, you don't get.” She concludes by saying women need to know what they're worth, what's sacred and what's worth fighting for. That kind of clarity allows them to pivot their careers and their asks in different ways when the time calls.------------About Bonnie Wan:Bonnie Wan is Partner and Head of Brand Strategy at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners  and the bestselling author of “The Life Brief.” AdAge named her the 2022 Chief Strategy Officer of the Year and a 2023 Leading Woman for reaching new heights in an ever-changing marketing landscape. A career brand strategist, Bonnie has spent more than 30 years working with companies to articulate the essence of who they are and has transformed this practice into a creative brief for her life and a personal development strategy for individuals — “The Life Brief.” Bonnie's creative brief has grown from an agency talk into a workbook, keynote talks and workshops, and, in 2024, a book.“The Life Brief: A Playbook for No-Regrets Living” is a USA Today bestseller and Amazon Best Book of the Year 2024. Modeled after the creative brief, a tool used by many innovative companies to unlock clarity and unleash action, The Life Brief carves a path for living with intention and imagination.Today, Bonnie teaches others how to get clear, get creative, and get courageous about living without regret through her keynote talks, workshops and retreats. And thanks to the clarity she found in her own Life Brief, Bonnie answered her desire to spend more time with her husband, four kids and dog Charlie.Important Links:Savvy LadiesPrecious Williams' LinkedInLisa Zeiderman's LinkedInBonnie Wan's LinkedIn

There has to be a better way. There is. This quiet time explores the path forward out of the dryness and darkness of these lies, and will help you find the light again. Scriptures:But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”John 8:12 NIVI pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Welcome back as we explore the human superpower of rest. In this episode we're going to dive into the idea of having a lazy day with nothing to do but rest. Now you will recall rest isn't sleep. Rest is our ability to power down the mind, get out of our analytical right brain, find stillness, and unplug our mind from the grind. Just like we need to rest our bodies, we need to rest our minds. A great way to rest our minds is by allowing time to unfold without a schedule or checking your watch. Have you ever lived just one lazy day without having anything planned? Here's how Thich Nhat Hanh beautifully describes a lazy day from his book How to Relax:“Most of us have very scheduled lives and very full calendars. But do we have enough lazy days in our calendar? A lazy day is a day for us to be without any scheduled activities. We just let the day unfold naturally, timelessly. On this day we have a chance to reestablish the balance in ourselves. When we have unscheduled time, we tend to get bored or cast about for something to do. A lazy day is a chance to train ourselves not to be afraid of doing nothing. You might think that not doing anything is a waste of time. But that's not true. Your time is first of all for you to be – to be alive, to be peace.”--For more from Host Pooja Mottl:  www.PoojaMottl.comPodcast Producer: www.Go-ToProductions.comTwitter: @PoojaMottlInstagram: @TheCalmandFreePodcast and @PoojaMottl  LinkedIn: @PoojaMottlSpecial Thanks to Kris Kosach of the TPR Podcast for lending her VO for our Podcast Intro!

August is a great month to unplug, relax and rest – for me it's a time to spend quality, undistracted moments with my children and my family, to unplug from work mode, to start tapping into my creative intuition, and find more time to manifest calm and stillness in my mind. Rest isn't sleep – much of it is about getting a reprieve from the logical, analytical, linear thinking that's the bread and butter of the left brain, what the majority of us are rewarded for in the modern world. Rest doesn't just enhance well-being, it prevents burnout – a condition that's reached almost pandemic levels.I wrote about how an avoidance of rest connects to burnout in a post published at Thrive Global. The gist of the article is that burnout doesn't come only from external forces like long hours mandated by office culture or work duties or little to no vacation hours, but also from an internal belief about our self-worth that we harbor deep within  our psyche – the belief that we're not enough. Not high enough on the totem pole of social hierarchy, not wealthy enough, not influential enough, not handsome enough, not promoted enough or any one of numerous "not enoughs".When the media is obsessed with promoting extremes as the economic divide increases, when technology enables an always on mentality, and when social media is driven by AI algorithms that want to spotlight mainly highlight reels, its no wonder why so many of us feel like we're never enough. And when we feel like we've got an uphill battle in the race to find enough external validation to fill up our empty enough-ness bucket, we do only what we've been almost puritanically conditioned to do: keep struggling and work even harder. And of course, the harder we work, the closer we get to the teetering edge of burnout. And this idea of enough-ness has reached seemingly pandemic levels which leads to a drop in happiness and anxiety and even more stress. In this episode we'll look into the many antidotes for enough-ness.--For more from Host Pooja Mottl:  www.PoojaMottl.comPodcast Producer: www.Go-ToProductions.comTwitter: @PoojaMottlInstagram: @TheCalmandFreePodcast and @PoojaMottl  LinkedIn: @PoojaMottlSpecial Thanks to Kris Kosach of the TPR Podcast for lending her VO for our Podcast Intro!

I Got Your Back Girlfriend

This is episode 8 and the topic today is on Being Enough. I would like to read one of my favorite poems that I love sharing with women. I AM A CONFIDENT WOMAN I AM STRONG I've been through a lot in my life and I'm still standing I HAVE SELF-WORTH It took a lot of soul searching to finally see for myself I AM BEAUTIFUL I don't need anyone to tell me, I already know my glow I AM NOT PERFECT Nobody's perfect but I've seen my good and bad sides I AM JUST MYSELF I will never be alone; I will always be there for me!!! I love this powerful poem and I hope it resonated with you. Ladies, I invite you to ponder these questions: Have you ever felt you're not good enough? Do you still? Have you felt unworthy? Do you still? Do you compare yourself with others because you don't feel enough? Well ladies, I am here to tell you that you are not alone. As I was thinking about this topic, I pondered why do so many of us feel like we're not good enough? And how do we deal with this feeling? The feeling of not being enough may have started when you were child or as an adult when someone said something to you that made you feel less than. The fear that you are not good enough is a fear that affects everyone. It may show up differently for each of us but it's there. I would like to share my story with you in hopes that it will inspire you to be curious and shed some light if you don't feel enough. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/natasha-burke3/support

In the course of a day, or a week, or a month, or even an hour, how often do you say or think the word “need?” Sentences or phrases like, “I need to take out the trash,” or “I really need to send that email!” can come at us, into our minds, and out of our mouths out of the blue, and seemingly on their own schedule. When we think about it, though, what does the word “need” really mean? Are the things that you say that you need really as urgent as all that? Also, when you say the word “need,” what else could be said around that containing phrase that can inform us of the nature of that urgency, and to what is really going on?In this episode, we take apart the word, “need” to see what’s really going on “under the hood,” so to speak. How do we separate true “needs” from “wants” and “wouldn’t it be nice” and just personal preferences? When we say “need,” how often do we really mean “should,” and, if so, what might be generating our impulse to phrase a “should” as a “need”?  Are “should’s” really “could’s” in disguise? Can we reframe these impulses to “should” ourselves to emphasize our choices? Are there really, underneath our “shoulds” some options to be explored?  Might we invite some inquiry into what our needs really are asking of and from us? All this and more, in this episode of This Most Unbelievable LIfe!We hope you like this one! Please let us know what you think! We all have that annoying little voice inside that likes to point out what we did not get done, how far we still have to go or how far we are from what we truly want. Not for lack of working hard or being busy. But tending to more than most people while not feeling like you are doing enough, being enough or getting what you want is a hard way to live that leads to you suffering in silence. It is not always easy to recognize or admit - that you doubt your own power or put yourself last. This can be painful and personal - not out in the open for everyone to see because maybe you hide it so well. What if instead, your true inner voice talked you into your dreams and sang your praises? What would it tell the world about you? Thats what were digging into on this episode. A heart to heart that you absolutely deserve to have your own dreams and how to override that part of you that may be keeping you from pursuing them.

What shakes your confidence? We all have been there, coming from such a confident place then all of a sudden someone or something robs us off our trust in ourselves. We also have been told over and over again to be confident ever since we are little people are cheering for us and telling us to just be yourself. Now it has gone crazy, the message is YOU ARE ENOUGH. But the big question then is, HOW? How can we be ultra confident in a way that nothing can stop us from achieving the things we want to do and achieving all of it with true confident. Being Enough, doesn't mean that someone has measured you up and decided 'yep this one's enough.' Being Enough doesn't mean that you've learned everything there is to know It doesn't mean you're perfect It doesn't mean that don't need help from anyone else And it doesn't mean that you won't and haven't made mistakes or won't continue to Being Enough doesn't mean that your insecurities won't challenge you Being ENOUGH, means that you were made to be you and ONLY YOU You are you on purpose and since the day you have existed you were enough Being and knowing that you are enough means that in the pursuit of growth and continued growth you will become more authentically you because you are content with being you. Being ENOUGH means that you know that you don't have to prove yourself to be valuable or worthy. YOU ARE valuable and YOU ARE worthy. Being Enough is a possession that you have that can never be taken away from you, one that you might not know until now that even existed. So as you move through your journey of self-development, know that you are Always ENOUGH, and you have always been enough and the journey of evolving right now that you are on is just making you more of your authentic self and bringing it into a place of power for you. In this episode, we discuss QUITE an involved topic: BEING ENOUGH. Woo, did we go real, real, real vulnerable on this one! Both of us talk about how inadequacy manifests in our lives, what that means for our careers, and how to overcome feelings of inadequacy. The concept of being enough is one that inevitably deals with comparison and this is an idea we heavily interrogate in the episode. If being enough requires being better than someone else, then what is the real point—and why are we all so enamored with the idea of being ENOUGH? This and more in this episode!

Episode 7 of the Fiercely Courageous Conversations series is tackling that big topic "Being Enough". It seems to bother a huge part of society so we decided to start talking about it. Being enough seems to be a crippling factor when it comes to going after our dreams, putting ourselves and our work out there and also can spurs feelings of inadequacy in our relationships. So why do we feel this way? What do we do about it? And can we shift this? Beck and I are here to dissect this fear and help you realise you are enough! This month we'd like to encourage you to share this episode with at least one person in your life. Being Enough is a topic that affects many women (and men) and we'd really like to share this with as many woman (and men) as possible! Help us spread this message. We'd really appreciate your act of kindness. It could help change the life of one woman (or man) that you know.

This quote came to me as I became increasingly aware of how problematic it can be to create the life we want when we don't know our own value. In other words, when we are unclear about why someone would want us as a part of their organization and/or want us as a relationship partner, friend, husband, wife, etc., we will always be looking to others to "fill in the blanks," so to speak.
