It was the 911 call heard around the world. But what concerns did some of Ruby's family members have about her parenting even before she became a YouTube star? How did Ruby's faith inspire her to become a content creator? What changes occurred in the Franke children's lives after they became ‘employees' for 8 Passengers, Ruby's channel? Yet many have never heard of the horrific fire that ravaged the Beverly Hills Supper Club in May of 1977,  killing 165 people and injuring 200.  Known as the “Showplace of the Midwest,” the opulent, sprawling facility located in Southgate, Kentucky, not only offered event space, but also boasted wildly popular Vegas-style performers and acts.  The evening of May 28, 1977, approximately 1200 people crowded into the cabaret room to see the legendary performer John Davidson, never dreaming their night would end in a nightmare of flames and toxic fumes.  Join us as we revisit not only the circumstances behind the tragic Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire, but also the impact it had on fire safety codes and the mystery that still lingers.  Find (and subscribe to!) the show on your favorite podcast app or the Scandal Water Podcast Youtube channel.  Caution: This episode of Scandal Water contains adult themes and descriptions of violence. It's widely considered to be the longest and most infamous family feud in American history, providing the inspiration for everything from a popular game show to a Bugs Bunny cartoon and a Pigeon Forge dinner show.  But how much of what we believe to be true about the legendary Hatfield and McCoy family feud is actually myth– or even false impressions created by the media?   That's just one of the many questions we explore in this fascinating episode.  Was it really the notorious hog incident that started the family feud? Were Johnse Hatfield and Roseanna McCoy truly the star-crossed lovers they've been made out to be, and if so, what happened with their romance? What exactly transpired during the brutal New Year's Day Massacre? And just how accurate is the 2012 miniseries starring Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton? It's been 50 years since ABBA, clad in silver platform boots and bright outfits garnished with shiny sequins, won the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, effectively catapulting the group toward international superstardom. But at its core, ABBA was about two musically gifted couples who decided to combine their talents. So how did it affect this beloved rock band when several years later, as they were reveling in their success and ‘money, money, money,'  first one couple, and then the second, decided to split?  That's one of the key questions we explore in this nostalgic and lively episode dedicated to one of the most enduring and beloved bands in music history, ABBA.
