Hey everyone, sorry for the delay! The boys are taking a brief hiatus after 57 awesome episodes. In the meantime we wanted to reupload some of our favorite episodes from earlier in the show when we were still pretty new to our editing software. This one is about one of Terren's (least)favorite bad movies, "Battlefield Earth" starring John Travolta and based on the book written by the founder of scientology. If you're a long time listener of the show, hit us up on social media or in our inbox to let us know which episodes you think deserve a remaster! If you're just tuning in don't hesitate to subscribe and tell us what you want to hear the boys review next! Social media: linktr.ee/tgtbatb Email: thegoodthebadandtheboys@gmail.com

It's the second half of video game movie week and coming off the back of 2021's Mortal Kombat the boys have managed to somehow find something even worse. Journey into the land of ancient lords with the boys as they discuss the follow up to From Software's cult classic, 2014's Dark Souls 2. In our last review the boys enjoyed Castlevania too much. We needed something to remind us of how bad the average video game adaptation is, and boy howdy does 2016's Warcraft deliver. Where the war meets the craft the boys meet disappointment in this live action summer blockbuster based on the MMORPG of the same name. To those who said adaptations of video games will never work in tv or movies, to that we say HAHA! You are only 90% correct. The other 10% goes to Netflix's animated Castlevania series, a bloody, grim, and action packed repackaging of the beloved Konami games. Packed with stunning visuals, excellent characterization, tasteful nots to it's video game counterpart, and accurate depictions of medieval peasants (which is really important to Terren for some reason) Castlevania proves that with the right liberties, and a talented team, a video game adaptation doesn't need to be a Razzie nominee every time. The band of merry boys finish up our occupy wall street-*cough cough*- I mean uh, Robin Hood discussion with 2018's flop of an interpretation, starring Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx. This (mal)adaptation of the classic folk hero shows us such things as Ben Mendelsohn being visibly tired in another typecast vision role, Jamie Foxx as an Arabic Little John with an American accent, and costumes so well tailored they shatter any hope of immersion. What's Robin Hood without the robbin? Don't know why Universal Pictures sought to answer this question in 2010 but here we are. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russel Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Mark Strong, and Oscar Isaac. This mistake for a Braveheart movie serves as a strange origin story for the man in tights but a gritty atmosphere, some solid performances, and compelling action make it a pretty good Robin Hood flick. In our first fan recommended episode since Howard The Duck gave Terren crippling depression, the boys watch the science fiction horror sleeper hit, Pitch Black, the movie that made Vin Diesel. In the first episode in the last two weeks where we don't open with a poorly scripted time loop joke, the boys sit down with a wise old sage named Landon. A full time student of literature and a part time watcher of movies, Landon the philosophy guy is here to help the boys break down the meanings behind our most existentially dreadful movie yet... "Palm Springs" starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti is a movie about two young people stuck in a seemingly endless time loop together. Part two of our four part deep dive into the time loop subgenera of movies that is growing in popularity. Despite our best efforts, someone was actually interested in coming on our show! To close out this year (and our completely unrelated apocalypse special) we sat down with Joe Sanabria, a concept artist and illustrator who worked on Fallout: New Vegas, Call of Duty trailers, Skullmonkeys, and that cigarette smoking turkey from the Chantix commercials. We talk about his experiences working on that game, the game development cycle, his career as an artist, and the time a drunk G4 executive body checked Todd Howard so she could talk to him at a Vegas party. The day of reckoning nears and the boys are reviewing the apocalyptic apex of entertainment to close out the year. Featuring the cult classic, 'Fallout: New Vegas' and it's less than successful successor, 'Fallout 76'. The boys talk about what makes a good RPG, digging a dead game out from the grave, the legacy of the Fallout series, and since we're talking Bethesda here, you bet there's going to be bugs! The world is ending, and god we hope it goes out more exciting than this movie. Join the boys as we go DEEP with a review of Dreamworks', 'Deep Impact' starring Téa Leoni and Elija Wood. We talk science, fiction... science fiction, and how that genre merges with drama with a sprinkle of borderline copyright infringement to create what is basically boring 'Armageddon' Hit the boys up open social media! linker.ee/tgtbatb For inquiries and to commission Isaac as a post-apocalyptic gimp boy... thegoodtherbadandtheboys@gmail.com
Armageddon day approaches, and to celebrate that's exactly the movie the boys are reviewing. Catch all the explosive, poorly written Michael Bay action here! Spend your last days being regaled with an in depth analysis of this all American classic with talking points like terrible Michael Bay dialogue, awesome and wildly inaccurate Michael Bay explosion physics, and some borderline copyright infringement Michel Bay shenanigans. In our most antisocial personality inducing episode yet, the boys rip into Razzie award winning Scientology flop, 'Battlefield Earth' starring John Travolta and Harry Pepper. Based on 'Battlefield Earth' by L. Ron Hubbard. We talk production, scandals, scientology, and why the making of this film was basically like 'The Producers' in real life. Monster movies are so last week... So the boys are reviewing a movie about dragons. Hear our thoughts on the slept on apocalyptic bop you never knew you wanted, 'Reign of Fire' starring Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey.
Forget everything we praised about 2013's monster-slaying blockbuster 'Pacific Rim' because you won't find any of it in it's heretical sequel, 'Pacific Rim: Uprising'. Join us for the bad movie of the week as the boys roast this corporate cash grab into the bottom of the Pacific where it belongs. Starring John Boyega and Scott Eastwood. By Legendary studios. New month, new format, new me! The boys are closing out the year with a month long 2020 themed special. That means one month of non-stop apocalypse themed content (since we all know that's what December has in store for us). To make episodes more digestible in these troubling times we're splitting up our reviews into two episodes that we will release throughout the week so tune in for part two on Thursdays. To kick this catastrophic shindig off, the boys are reviewing the 2013 monster movie sleeper hit 'Pacific Rim' from Legendary studios and director Guillermo Del Toro!
500 DOWNLOAD BONUS EPISODE: In the series' second game review, the boys decide getting relevant might be a good idea and review their favorite and least favorite games to come out of 2020, including Ghost Ship's procedurally generated co-op adventure, "Deep Rock Galactic" and Ninja Theory's take on the MOBA, "Bleeding Edge". They'll talk about the games as a service model, style over substance, how NOT to blend genres, the payoffs of making something totally new, and of course... who the thiccest hero in each game is.
It's Thanksgiving week, and what better way to enjoy a socially distanced holiday season than with a podcast review of the best and worst seasonal melodrama movies. This week your favorite internet cowboys talk about the book-to-film adaptation of John Green's, "Let It Snow" as well as a movie so bad, it just might be Terren's new favorite, "A Christmas Catch".
