Well let us just start by saying that I hope this episode leaves you feeling empowered and refreshed to appreciate each moment and situation you’re presented with today! Because That’s exactly how we felt after having the pleasure to talk with our friend, author, speaker, and performer Joel Leon. Joel joined us sharing the gratitude adjustment we could all use these days. Taking the time to practice gratitude, which is slightly different than just counting your blessings really can leave a lasting impact on your overall well-being. In fact, regularly practicing gratitude has been proven to help you live longer. So yes, it’s something we’re putting focus on in this new year To quote Lin Manuel Miranda "Joel's words are where I go when I need some inspiration. And he never lets me down." We echo these words of the great Lin Manuel Miranda, yes the one from Hamilton. What’s so funny? We thought we’d ask the internet comedy sensation, Joey Mulinaro. This time last year our guest was working for a radio station in his hometown doing digital media & creating funny social content on the side - now he’s working for Barstool Sports one of the most influential sports and lifestyle media brans in America. Barstool reaches a dedicated audience of over 66 million monthly unique users. Joey Mulinaro’s rapid rise in the last year is largely due to his out of the box thinking with his comedy and impersonations. His impressions of Nick Saban and other college football coaches has pushed his social following well over 400K strong. It was cool to have this talk with my friend Joey, to reflect on this past year of his life and how being an internet sensation has changed it all. He also talks about how all of this started, the process of getting hired by Barstool, and keeping the humor during a dark year. If you haven’t yet, please rate Thrivin’ in the Wild and subscribe to hear more. Let us know what you want to want to hear in the reviews. ESPN Host, Katie Nolan, joins us for a jam packed episode. She shared some serious truths, including how she got discovered by the big networks, inventing “troll math” to beat the online haters & how when she embraced her own mental health it skyrocketed her success. My biggest takeaway from her was that even though it was sometimes uncomfortable, her ability to stubbornly follow her own wild instincts always led her right.

This is a very special episode, one that I know I’ll always be grateful we recorded. Joining me is my dad or known in formal settings as Jonathan Stern but mostly lovingly referred to as Jonnyboy. When I’m at my best, I’m my father’s daughter. An incredibly hard-working man, he grew up to be his childhood dream of an airline pilot traveling the world. Recently we got tough news when he was diagnosed with Leukemia. While we’re still learning & processing this challenge, we knew that we wanted to share our journey here on this podcast. Only with the hope to help others or encourage others to change their perspective with the hard things they face. Jonnyboy is also the one who named this podcast, seems fitting now but he shares what the title meant to him. Something that I’ll hold onto from this is what he thought of when he got the diagnosis, that wisdom is what makes him truly great. Take a listen!
Joining me today is none other than Chris Harrison, the host of The Bachelor franchise since 2002. He’s been such a gracious mentor to me throughout my career and I’m excited for you to learn more about the man we’ve all watched on television for almost 2 decades. He’s a household name now but he shares with me the leap of faith he took in 1999 that forever changed his life. He also opens up about the unseen obstacles, how he’s survived the unexpected fame and thrived in the opportunities presented.
For so long I felt like I was just surviving, getting through, almost just patiently/sometimes impatiently waiting for my life to get started. What I was realized was that the only person holding me back was myself. I learned this lesson from my late grandmother, this story is my why. My why is that I don't want to not live up to my full potential. I want to give this life everything I've got. I share the 3 things that were holding me back and how I was able to overcome them.
Join Taylor Stern as we go from surviving our lives to Thrivin' in the Wild. A weekly podcast sharing stories from those who've stepped into their wild and learned to trust their own compass. Taylor will also reflect on her own lessons learns and the ups and downs that have shaped her journey. Subscribe for more updates.
