How good is September! Finals footy in the AFL last weekend was absolutely electric and we cannot wait for both the NRL and AFL to continue. We talk Jack Ginnivan, Tom Papley and Toby Greene just to name a few absolute pests of the game. Geelong and Hawthorn get massive air time as you can imagine and we look forward to a couple of ripping semi finals this week. Engie Stadium becomes a hot topic, Jace is not happy that the Giants don't have to play finals at the SCG. We look ahead to the NRL finals and is it just as simple as Melbourne playing Penrith at Accor Stadium in a months' time? Time will tell. The poms are back making headlines again in the cricket so of course we must laugh at them, lets hope it doesn't backfire since the Aussies play them this week. We can't do it without our loyal sponsors so thank you to Betr, The Standard Squeeze, CTC and the loveagreyhound foundation for the support! Hosted on Acast. A tale of two halves - the Wests Tigers have given up an eight-point lead to lose to the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium. The 22-14 loss marks the club's fifth straight loss and the promising start to the season is starting to look less like it was the turning point we had all hoped for. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Steve Stretton, Declan McCutcheon, and Eddie Otto to analyze what went wrong. We start with some great one-word submissions from the Wests Tigers Podcast Facebook page, and the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. Some of the key points point under the microscope by the boys include: Leadership - the performance of our captain, Bateman Improved game (generally) from Bula How we missed Korisau The lack of impact from Twal and Seyfarth And we ask, what's wrong with Isaiah? While there is also a look at the latest, frankly quite sad, comments from the club's former chairman, Lee Hagipantelis. And Steve has details on the next Ambush event coming up this weekend at Wests Ashfield. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week's episode of Behind The Roar was recorded live at Accor Stadium before Easter Monday's match against Parramatta Eels, featuring former Wests Tigers players Chris Lawrence and Pat Richards. Just as they did in their respective careers, the boys cover plenty of ground. With almost 600 first-grade games between them, they've seen a lot, learned a lot, and hurt a lot. Now retired but still heavily involved with the club, both are very happy with their lot in life. All that and more in this week's edition of Behind The Roar.
The Wests Tigers went close, but once again it was a loss for the black, gold, and white against the Eels. The round six match at Accor Stadium was a dark day for the club with five-eight Adam Doueihi suffering another ACL injury. Centre, Brent Naden, also suffered a serious injury, breaking his collarbone while scoring a try in the 28-22 loss. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes, Eddie Otto, Garry Watson, and Declan McCutcheon dissect the Doueihi injury, and look at the latest loss to Parramatta. Were there any positives? How about Charlie Staines at fullback? Is Staines a long-term fullback option? Junior Tupou on the wing? How did the forward pack go? There's also a look at the options the club might have to fill the now vacant five-eight and centre positions. We invited the thoughts from a member of the Wests Tigers Forum who sent in a from-the-heart opinion piece that sparks further debate around the management of the club. Don't forget, you can always have your say on the Wests Tigers on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. Another loss, but we hope you enjoy this latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Queensland turned the tables on the NSW Blues in ORIGIN I in front of 90,000 screaming fans at Accor Stadium in Sydney last night, grinding out a 16-10 win with Man of the Match – who else - Cameron Munster! In boxing, World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury bought two brand new Rolls-Royce cars yesterday at a bargain F$1.2Million each. The Gypsy King owns two other Rolls - so four in total now, a classic Mini Cooper, a Range Rover, a couple of Ferrari's and a Volkswagen. Don't throw away your old jersey Hector! Wayne Gretzky won the 1988 Stanley Cup – er that's in ice hockey, in his final game for the Edmonton Oilers. Harry Kane's goal against Germany on Tuesday night was his 50th goal for England, now just three behind Wayne Rooney's record. It took Cristiano Ronaldo 114 games to score 50 goals for Portugal and Lionel Messi scored 50 in 107 games for Argentina. Kane has got his in just 71 games. And to wrap this morning's first ever breakfast bite: Sepp Blatter – remember him? The fraud trial of the former-FIFA President was held up again after the 86 year old Blatter complained of chest pains and breathing difficulties. Swiss prosecutors allege a 2011 FIFA payment of US$2.2Million authorised by Blatter to Michel Platini, ex-UEFA President was unlawful. Get this, Blatter and Platini say it was a late payment for advisory work by Platini for the then FIFA President, done 13 years earlier in 1998. Sorry, but these two are crooks!
