Pastor Tom Grieb continues our Lenten/Easter series "In His Steps."Spring is just about upon us for which all of us are excited, particularly given the long winter made even longer because of the rigors of the Covid-19 Pandemic. In just a few weeks life will be emerging all around us. We remember in this that life has been there all along. Presently, we find ourselves emerging as well. There is hope in the air that we are emerging from the Pandemic, though we realize we have a way to go. So, as we emerge, you and I would do well to stay connected to God and to one another. Jesus teaches about such things when he references the vine and the branches in John 15. When the branch is well-connected to the vine, fruitfulness abounds. For us, that has everything to do with our relationship with God and certainly our relationships with other people. God's every desire for us is that we stay well-connected to him. It is the very thing that makes for a fruitful life. During the Pandemic we have all had to do things differently. In a lot of ways, we have had to cut back on what we would have normally done. There has been a lot of pruning going on and I would assert that God has done a lot of that, all with an interest in helping us emerge stronger, more faithful, and more fruitful than we have ever been.

This year we could all use a little more support, especially when dealing with loss. This week on NowThis Kids, host Naomi Wadler is talking about loss, ways to come together as a family and help each other during these times. We speak to author Patrice Karst about her book ‘The Invisible String’ which helps us understand our feelings around loss and that we are always connected to our loved ones no matter where they may be. She tells us why we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about death, even though it can make us sad or scared. Death is a natural part of the cycle of existence but as Correspondent Alejandro Alba explains, that does not invalidate the emotions you feel when you lose someone close to you, also known as grief. We want to hear from you! Send us an email to kids@nowthismedia.com Links: Naomi Wadler Alejandro Alba Patrice Karst
I had the pleasure of catching up with Val Bercovici, Founder & CEO at Chainkit, a Software-as-a-Service company that builds cyber security solutions, with a corporate mission to eliminate blind spots in cyber security and data privacy. Today we discuss Chainkit & Data Protection, Chains of Custody, and Blockchains - topics CXOs are unlikely to have ever faced in their careers thus far, but now have no option. #1 - Cyber attacks & Ransomware incidents continue at eye watering levels We discuss the significant increase in Cyber attacks & Ransomware incidents - we kickoff with Val sharing his take on the current state of what appears to be a tsunami of new incidents of cybersecurity challenges and resulting ransomware incidents, particularly focused on the healthcare industry which understandably was set to occur in light of the fact that the world is dealing with a global pandemic with COVID19, cyber criminals are never slow to take advantage of any opportunity where chinks in the armour appear in any place they can see a way to profit from any type of security exposure. #2 - The huge impact of COVID19 and life before and after 2020 COVID19 has had a huge impact but didn’t this issue exist prior to 2020, so much so that I don’t think anyone would argue that the impact the COVID19 global pandemic has had is beyond significant with regard to the increase in data protection & cybersecurity, be it the shift to Work From Home for many, or the increased shift to Mobile technology in the likes of hospitals, retail, and service industries as a whole - but the risks and impacts around this space of cyberattacks and ransomware have been around for decades now. We discuss how in Val’s view the current state of the world has changed the landscape of data protection and digital risk and what are you seeing as you spend time with organisations faced with the need to respond. #3 - Are we at a point now where technology exists to solve this problem Cyberattacks, cybersecurity, ransomware, data risk and data protection as a whole are not new topics, nor are they new risks, albeit they have seen significant increases due to our pivot to organisations being Data Driven and we live an increasingly Always On, Always Connected world - so the massive growth in risks related to the massive expansion of the attack surface should come as no surprise to anyone, but the question I keep getting in boardrooms is “is there a solution to this, does the technology exist to solve it?” - I ask Val to delve into this, we break this into two parts. We start with the first part and I ask Val for his take on this, i.e. should it come as a surprise to any bona fide business or technology professional that there has been a significant increase in cyberattacks and ransomware incidents. And to the second part, I ask Val if the technology exist today, to address and solve the challenge of securing & protecting data and even in the case of successful hacks, have in place chains of custody as it’s called, to be able to track and trace the perpetrators. We wrap up with a little crystal ball gazing - organisations are now having to navigate their way out of 2020 and ease into 2021 as we reach the end of a long and challenging year, and safely get through the upcoming Christian holiday period Christmas and unknown waters. I ask Val to share his insights and advice around how organisations should prepare to address the immediate future, as they look to develop business & technology strategy & supporting plans for the next 12 to 18 months? Tune in now for all of these amazing topics and more, and enjoy a great fireside chat with one of the most innovative thinkers in the world of cyber security, and indeed on of the leading forces in thought leadership in the war against cyber crime. 1. Grace and Glory DefinedPs 84:11 The Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly Grace is a free gift, it's unearned and undeserved, favor, blessing, ability, wisdom, joy and strength from God Glory (Chabod) weightiness, that which is substantial or heavy, honor, splendor, power, wealth, authority, magnificence, fame, dignity, riches and excellence, it is the goodness of God2. The Glory is Always Connected to the House of God2 Chron 7:1-3 When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord's house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.”Kenneth Copeland said 2021 will be the year of the local churchThe house of God releases the will of God in the earthIf we help build Jesus's house, He will help build our housesMatt 16:18 I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevailGen 28:17 He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven" The church is heaven's gateway, souls are saved and lives changed Awesome - To fear, to revere (what an incredible privilege we have)1 Chron 28:10 So take this seriously. The LORD has chosen (selected) you to build a temple as His sanctuary (house). Be strong, and do the workIs 60:7 I will glorify (adorn, beautify) the house of My glory3. Prayer in God's House Reverses Curses and Releases Glory 2 Chron 7:12-16 I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people. If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. (Be very wise on handling the house of Glory)Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you 1 Chron 16:22 Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm1 Pet 3:10 For whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech1 Cor 11:28-31 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judgedHaggai 2:9 The future glory of this Temple will be greater than its past glory, says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. We live in a world where we are constantly connected. Constantly plugged into our phones, updating our social media platforms, scrolling through Facebook and Instagram, watching YouTube videos etc. The more we are plugged in, the less time we have for our own original thought. These platforms are fighting for one of our most precious assets: our time and our attention. When we spend time on our phones or devices, we are being stimulated to think and feel certain things. It's no wonder so many people today don't know who they are or feel like they don't have a strong relationship with themselves. It's because we don't spend enough time alone with our thoughts. In this episode, Chris talks about the importance of disconnecting from our outside world so that we can connect with our inside world.

The battle for mobile PCs is brewing again as both the Arm and Intel camps ramp up low-power processors and add cellular modems for Always-Connected PCs (ACPCs). Apple announced that it will be using Apple processors based on the Arm architecture and a number of PC OEMs, including ASUS, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung, have been offering ACPCs based on Qualcomm Snapdragon processors that also use the Arm architecture. But Intel is not standing still with its new Lakefield processor and a partnership with MediaTek for modems. Just when you thought it was over, the mobile PC market is exciting again and the consumers are benefitting from multi-day battery life and connectivity anywhere while still running on Windows 10. We've made it to 25 episodes, well on our way to our target of 100! To celebrate, we're talking about one of the most fundamental issues facing our society, how humans get hacked by technology companies and why that matters. It's a conversation that follows on from Episode #22 - Always Connected, but this time, we dive deeper into how these technology companies actually grab and maintain our attention, why that impacts the direction society takes, and how do we fight against it. We're talking about societal-wide manipulation of the human psyche, resulting in unintentional changes within our personal lives that goes against what we think we are actually looking for. Key Message: We can't win the fight against a supercomputer every time, but we can become more conscious of our own vulnerabilities to mitigate their influence A summary of our conversational pathway: Definition of The Hackable Animal How technology companies hack our subconscious Why is this a bad thing for me? What this means for society in general What can we do for society to ensure we head in the right direction What can we do in our personal lives to better take control Full show notes can be found at tomstuandyou.com Like us on Facebook and Instagram @tomstuandyou or send us an email at hi@tomstuandyou.com with any questions, comments, thoughts, or queries you have on the topics we've discussed or any suggestions of topics you'd like to hear us address. FOMO - Fear Of Missing Out - is a term that, for many, captures the essence of the Millennial Generation. Always on. Always Connected. Instant Gratification. Instagram Influencers. Facebook Famous. Now, to contrast that, we have JOMO - Joy Of Missing Out. The idea that you don't need to worry about missing out on something that probably doesn't really mean much in the overall scheme of things. Consciously choosing not to engage. To digitally disconnect. It's been called a movement. There's even a book about it - https://www.experiencejomo.com/ #FOMO #JOMO #disconnect #digitaldetox

When you are caught in this type of landslide the universe and I will be there for you.
And i am always connected to You Like breathing and heartbeats you are an integral aspect of me. In Chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna explains, “Those who, fixing their mind on Me, worship Me, ever steadfast and endowed with supreme faith, in my opinion, are the best Yogis. So, fix your mind in Me exclusively, apply your intellect in Me. You shall no doubt live in Me alone hereafter. If you are unable to fix your thought steadily on Me, then by yoga of constant practice seek to reach me. If you are not able to do that too, then by performing every action for My sake you shall attain perfection. If you are unable to do even this, then taking refuge in Me, do renounce the fruits of all actions and be self controlled.” We all act depending on our own individual capacities. We can only evolve through the phases of relative ignorance to relative maturity. So Krishna suggested: “In whatever capacity you are able to act, let there be one common denominator: Always stay connected to me…” The mythological portrayal of Hanuman tearing his chest open to show Rama that 'you always reside in my heart' is to depict that Hanuman was always connected to his Lord… You are expected to pray five times a day not because Allah needs it, but because you need such a discipline to keep yourself connected to that all-pervading force always… In Latin, 'omnis' means 'all'. Omni is a Latin prefix meaning 'all' or 'every' and it is used in formation of compound words. For example, omnivore refers to animals that eat all kinds of foods. In reference to the Cosmic Presence, the common 'omni' references have been: Omniscient meaning all knowing; infinite knowledge. Omnipotent meaning all powerful; unlimited power. Omnipresence meaning present all over; everywhere. So, the Cosmic Presence is there always… However, unless you are always connected to that Cosmic Presence, you will deprive yourself of Feeling that Presence always... Oxygen is always there but you need to inhale. Gravity is in action always but you need to be aligned. God is always… But, are you a devotee always! If you are a part-time devotee, then you will only experience a part-time God. It is in being a full-time devotee, you experience a full-time God. Hanuman, by being always connected to his Lord, transformed from a monkey to personification of divinity. That's why, "And I am always connected to you…" Simply put, to experience the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresence… you've got to be omniconnected… always connected. So the infinitheists pray, “And I am always connected to you” to their Source. Someone asked, “Where is God?” An infinitheist asked in return, “Where is He not?” Someone asked again, “When are you with God?” An infinitheist asked in return, “When am I not?” In essence, an infinitheist is never separate from his Source… never away from the Source… now, ever and always connected. So the sixth line in the infiniprayer - And i am always connected to You. Watch video at https://youtu.be/TFUC1zyHAJI www.infinitheism.com

In part three of our discussion discussing innovations in the world of Always On, Always Connected* PCs powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile PC Platform, we learn how Windows 10 on Snapdragon devices are engineered to go beyond nice-to-haves and raise the bar on our mobile computing experiences. Our resident experts Miguel Nunes and Peter Burns share how Qualcomm Technologies is committed to a world where future generations never know "the struggle" of slow connections. They also may never know the loud sound of a spinning fan that legacy laptop processors need to keep cool, since PCs powered by the Snapdragon mobile PC platform are designed to run cool so they won’t need fans. We also talk about how the integrated platform approach and optimized performance of the platform means the time is right for this new category of mobile laptops. And Miguel pitches a second job for host PJ Jacobowitz. *requires a network connection Qualcomm Snapdragon is a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
Catch up on the first part of our conversation with Miguel Nunes, Senior Director of Product Management, about his secret Windows 10 on Snapdragon PC prototype, then join us to learn more about this new category of Always On, Always Connected* devices, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform. We learn about embedded SIM (or eSIM) and how easy it can be to get super-fast LTE connectivity, and how having Qualcomm technology behind every significant component in the mobile platform means device manufacturers can create innovative form factors with bigger batteries and unprecedented thin design. We also discover how host PJ Jacobowitz should never be put in charge of quality control (hint: if you see a driver named G*PJ*U you know who was responsible). *requires a network connection Qualcomm Snapdragon is a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

It wasn’t so long ago that we were able to compartmentalize the various aspects of our life: work, home, church, community, etc. Now everything is connected and bleeds together. In this episode, David and Justin discuss the various types of stress presented to our different “selves” in this interconnected age.
We are all connected to something or someone in a way that directs our lives. But, how often do our connections give up on us? In John 15, we learn Jesus wants us to be connected to Him in a way that is life-giving and purposeful! Check out this sermon entitled "Always Connected" as pastor Alex Diaz continues in the series "Jesus Through the Eyes of John." This message was presented on January 31, 2016 at Mosaic's Little Rock campus.
In our connection, nothing is local. There is no private good. Our blessings are everyone's blessings. Our sorrow and pain are shared as well. We can send love out across the ocean. We can send love out to others. Prayer is effective at a distance. The emphasis is on the practitioner doing their own interior work creating the qualities of consciousness that the client they are working with is desiring to experience. This works because we are all connected in the hologram of life. All that we can be for one another is the One Presence.
SAP and Enterprise Trends Podcasts from Jon Reed (@jonerp) of diginomica.com
It all started with a blog post. After TechEd 2010, SAP Mentor John Appleby of Bluefin Solutions posted a blog on his take on SAP mobility. Natascha Thomson of SAP read the blog and some of it didn't make sense to her. It was a clear case of buzzword alert! Seeking clear answers, Natascha and John asked me to referee a discussion between them on "FAQs on SAP Enterprise Mobility." During this thirty minute podcast, Natascha grills John on SAP Enterprise Mobility. Buzzwords are defined as we dig into everything from the impact of consumer technology to Project Gateway to the implications of HTML 5. Those listeners who make it towards the end of the podcast will be treated to some comic relief as once again a cellular caller (John) drops off a podcast on Enterprise Mobility, proving once and for all that "Always Connected" is a modern myth.
