In this compelling episode of Kliq This, titled "The CM Punk Tussle," Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver offer a critical analysis of CM Punk's altercation at AEW. They scrutinize AEW's decision to air the incident, arguing it was a poor choice that did not deliver the expected impact and debating its implications on AEW's image and reputation. Nash and Oliver express their dismay over how the event was presented as a major exclusive, yet failed to meet the hype, reflecting on the broader effects such missteps could have on viewer trust and promotion strategies. The hosts also delve into the handling of the incident by AEW management, discussing the long-term effects such controversial decisions can have on a wrestling promotion's relationship with its audience and wrestlers. They bring their straightforward and often humorous commentary style to dissect how the situation could have been managed better, and what it says about the current state of wrestling promotions. “Oh sh_t!” Those were the last two words college student Brandon Swanson uttered to his father over their intense cellphone conversation in the wee hours of May 14, 2008. He was calling them, looking for some help after help after his Chevy Lumina, had veered off into a ditch in the town of Canby… which was just about a 30-minute straight shot from his home in Marshall, Minnesota. His parents headed out too where he said he was, but couldn't find their son anywhere.
Tre talks about; getting a ride, Jamie Foxx, Playoff Predictions, and having no OG's in comedy really.
Oh boy its another news heavy episode! In this episode Matt, Kris, and Aaron sit down to discuss some interesting car news including the Toyota Camry's discontinuation in Japan after 43 years of sales, the Camaro's potential return as an electric vehicle, WRC in Tennessee, and Germany fully embracing the E-fuel future. Of course there is also talk about mass transit and old Chevy Lumina's cause it wouldn't be the Religion of Speed Podcast if there wasn't. #Carnerdsunite
May 2008 - Brandon Swanson was making his way home after the end of Spring Semester party at Minnesota West Community and Technical Campus near Canby. Brandon somehow lost control of his Chevy Lumina and ended up in a ditch unable to drive his car. He called his parents and told him where he believed he had crashed and told them he was OK, but needed a ride. Brandon's parents got in their truck and headed towards the location, staying on the phone with Brandon the entire time. Unfortunently, the location Brandon gave did not seem to be correct, and his parents had spent 45 mins driving around trying to find him. Eventually he told his parents he believed the lights he saw in the distance was from the town of Marshall and he would meet his parents at a bar. Still talking to his parents as he walks, he all of a sudden cries out and the call ends. Brandon's parents try feverishly to reconnect with him, but he did not pick up. In the morning, his parents go to the police station where they are met with some resistance. What happened to Brandon? Where is he? Listen now as we discuss in Episode 120, The Disappearance of Brandon Swanson. Also, learn what can help family members in the event you would disappear. This episode is just the beginning discussion about my Dad, Jim Price. My father was a hard living, Texas beer joint regular, whose favorite song he liked to sing was an old Mac Davis pop hit, “It's Hard to be Humble.” He only knew the chorus, but the chorus was all he needed...Jimmy grew up hard, he lived hard, he took life to the limit, and JUST MISSED an eternity in Hell by two weeks short of dying. He blew out his back twice, flipped a car three times on a north east freeway totaling a Chevy Lumina; was struck by lighting, de-gloved in a printing press, suffered a massive heart attack that instantly destroyed half of his heart capacity, battled COPD, Emphysema, and lung cancer. But, God preserved Jimmy through all the disasters until my father finally said yes to Jesus - then he was dead in two weeks at the age of 78. I celebrate the loving kindness and mercy of God, that he saved my father at the last moments of life and gave my father a place in Heaven. God can reach the most distant sinner... Your taste in cars says a lot about you. We collect, covet, and drive different cars for many different reasons, but we see all kinds of different themes in people’s tastes. Some people are one-marque wonders; others chase a great driving experience or even a colorful palette in their garage. Perhaps what makes car-shows like Radwood so incredible is that they’re brand-agnostic celebrations that bring together car enthusiasts who would otherwise not meet one another. Where else would you find someone with a mint-condition Chevy Lumina with its original sales documents laminated and on display?Derek went to Stanford to study why people like cars, but has car-ADHD in his own tastes. Or is it that he likes a variety of different experiences? Cars, after all, are a reflection of where they’re created — in geography and culture. It’s easy to get stuck with one marque, because the barriers to expand can be daunting: you’ll need new expertise, new friends, new parts-suppliers, a new mechanic, or even new tools. But does that mean someone who drives a Datsun 240Z can’t be interested in a 1977 Rolls-Royce? Nope. And she should buy it — It means she’ll make new friends and form a new support-group. Making new relationships and joining a new network means that she can pass on the joy of vintage British car ownership to others. And spreading joy — not viruses — is the meaning of life. The Carmudgeon Show is a comedic, information-filled conversation with Jason Cammisa and Derek Tam-Scott, two car enthusiasts who are curmudgeonly beyond their years. Proving you don’t have to be old to be grumpy, they spend each episode talking about what’s wrong with various parts of the automotive universe. Despite their best efforts to keep it negative, they usually wind up laughing, happy, and extolling their love for cars. Which just makes them angrier and more bitter.Jason Cammisa is an automotive journalist, social-media figure, and TV host with over 250 million views on YouTube alone. Jason’s deeply technical understanding, made possible by a lifelong obsession with cars, allows him to fully digest what’s going on within an automobile — and then put it into simple terms for others to understand. Also, a Master’s Degree in Law trained him to be impossible to argue with. Derek Tam-Scott still tries. He’s a young automotive expert with old-man taste in cars, and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering — which means he knows how to be civil to Jason. Or at least he tries. With a decade and a half’s experience buying, selling, driving and brokering classic and exotic cars, he’s experienced the world’s most iconic cars. And hated most of them. At 5pm, police arrive at the scene of a burned up Chevy Lumina with the remains of a body inside. Just a few days later, another woman calls a friend to say that someone at a drugstore was making her nervous. Within 15 minutes she would make a disturbing call to 911. Then she disappeared. The next morning she would be found in her car. She had been beaten and shot in the head.
