In today's edition of The Update Journal, McDonald's may be preparing to unleash a 100-piece McNuggets box onto society, which naturally raises several important questions — mainly how many Sweet & Sour sauces legally constitute a “serving,” and why every other sauce at McDonald's feels like it's just competing for second place. Meanwhile, Tootsie Roll Industries quietly reveals they've apparently been making other candy products this entire time, sending me into a full existential spiral after spending decades thinking the company's entire business model was just “long chocolate chew logs and vibes.”And finally: with my parents officially away on vacation, the household enters a temporary era of relaxed rules, reduced tension, and suspiciously peaceful energy — much to Tommie's delight. It's less “Home Alone” and more “the pressure cooker finally got its lid loosened before somebody exploded over dishes in the sink.”Basically: nuggets are escalating, candy lore is expanding, and everybody in the house is trying to enjoy the silence before the vacation ends and the routing rigidity returns. In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Monday, Federal officials implored unions representing workers for the Long Island Rail Road, North America's largest commuter rail system, to resume bargaining to prevent a long strike from disrupting the week's commute. Meanwhile, Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman called for suspending the $9 congestion pricing toll for motorists crossing into core Manhattan during the Long Island Rail Road strike. We'll have a Brandon's Take and The Last Word on what MTA Chair Janno Lieber said as the strike got underway. In other news, the allegedly drunken driver who killed two men and hurt three others after smashing onto a crowded sidewalk was just two blocks from home when the crash occurred, police said. Elvin Suarez of Morningside Heights was hit with multiple counts of manslaughter, vehicular assault and DWI, cops said. And in Idaho, all four crew members ejected safely after two Navy jets collided during an air show at the Mountain Home Air Force Base, officials said.

Houston, 2004. Super Bowl XXXVIII. The biggest television event of the year — and everyone involved is chasing perfection.Inside the NFL machine, Jim Steeg is orchestrating a military-grade operation where every second is worth millions. In the production truck, Salli Frattini is holding together a halftime show so complex it feels like a controlled explosion: Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, pyro, thousands of performers, and cameras everywhere. On the field, Patriots linebacker Matt Chatham is inches away from the game of his life. And somewhere in the middle of all this sits Mark Roberts — disguised, tattooed, layered in Velcro, and nervously taping a tiny deflated American football over his “chicken McNugget” because Texas has him rattled. As the game kicks off, the tension builds — not just for the players, but for everyone who knows what's riding on halftime. When it arrives, the stadium turns into a full-blown 2004 MTV spectacle: lights, dancers, smoke, sweat, and pop royalty at its most electric. It looks flawless. It sounds flawless. Everyone thinks it is flawless. But in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, something happens that almost nobody inside the stadium fully registers — yet will be replayed, analysed, and argued about for decades. And while everyone is distracted by that half-second… Mark sees his chance.Presented by Rich Hall Produced and written by Elle Scott Production co-ordinator: Juliette Harvey. Sam Altman says superintelligence is two years away. Google just dropped Gemini 3.1 with benchmark scores that look like a full generation leap. The AI upgrade wars are here. But are we ready? Anthropic released Sonnet 4.6, OpenAI is rumored to be adding a spicy "Citron Mode" to GPT-5.3, and Sam and Dario Amodei refused to hold hands on stage like two kids at a school dance. Plus Hollywood is threatening to sue over Seedance 2.0, Google's new Lyria 3 AI music model is fine (we tested it with a McNugget rap), the OpenClaw founder got hired by OpenAI, and Kevin made Mr. Tibs delete himself to create a better version. He's fine with it. Probably. SUPERINTELLIGENCE IN TWO YEARS AND THEY CAN'T EVEN HOLD HANDS. WE'RE FINE. #ai #ainews #openai Come to our Discord: https://discord.gg/muD2TYgC8f Join our Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/AIForHumansShow AI For Humans Newsletter: https://aiforhumans.beehiiv.com/ Follow us for more on X @AIForHumansShow Join our TikTok @aiforhumansshow To book us for speaking, please visit our website: https://www.aiforhumans.show/ // Show Links // Dario Amodei & Sam Altman Can't Hold Hands https://x.com/Yuchenj_UW/status/2024366483917459659?s=20 Sam Altman on SuperIntelligence https://x.com/clashreport/status/2024401234447520220?s=20 Google Gemini Pro 3.1 https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/models-and-research/gemini-models/gemini-3-1-pro/ New Photoshoot Update to Google Pompeii https://x.com/GoogleLabs/status/2024529795548102667?s=20 Claude Sonnet 4.6 https://www.anthropic.com/news/claude-sonnet-4-6 SVG Results from 4.5 to 4.6 https://x.com/scaling01/status/2023840565641556439?s=20 OpenAI's 'Citron Mode' Soon = Spicy Mode? https://x.com/btibor91/status/2024456593669231032?s=20 Netflix, Disney & Paramount All Threaten Seedance 2.0 https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/netflix-bytedance-immediate-litigation-seedance-ai-1236666084/ Seedance 2.0 Output Restrictions https://x.com/jamesjyu/status/2024305814950101034?s=20 Seedance 2.0 Dor Brothers $200m Movie https://x.com/thedorbrothers/status/2023460644905742577?s=20 Seedance 2.0 FERAL trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmhiZ5OQBW0 Operation You Know What (Charles Curran Seedance 2.0) https://x.com/charliebcurran/status/2023611358160597060?s=20 Seedance Dark Cats: https://x.com/pleometric/status/2023231194050052508?s=20 Trust Everything You See on Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@trusteverythingyousee Google's Lyria 3 https://deepmind.google/models/lyria/ https://x.com/GoogleAI/status/2024154215182926027?s=20 OpenClaw Founder Joins OpenAI https://x.com/sama/status/2023150230905159801?s=20 HermitClaw: One Sandboxed Area, Learning https://x.com/brendanh0gan/status/2023230513230614563?s=20 Contra: Agents Buy From Creatives (New Start-up) https://x.com/contraben/status/2024182864506761617?s=20 Unitree Robots Training For Chinese New Year Look Scary https://x.com/rohanpaul_ai/status/2024025865328488690?s=20 Chinese New Year Celebration Comparison: https://x.com/kimmonismus/status/2023388775511191699?s=20 AI Boston Dynamics Video? https://x.com/Rainmaker1973/status/2023791639601230195?s=20 Scary Robot Deployment https://x.com/ClaytonMorris/status/2024501307659407371/video/1 Riley Brown's OpenClaw to Blender https://x.com/rileybrown/status/2024334527217455270?s=20 Amazing Non-Seedance 2 AI Video Space Pirate Vibes https://x.com/ryanlightbourn/status/2023581484766875948?s=20

Lessons I Learned from Jobs Before My Education Career - Working at McDonalds. This is episode 813 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast. Did you have a job or two before you entered your career field? Maybe you started in high school and then college before finally entering the path that you were ultimately focused on achieving. Just to be clear, when I say a job, I do mean working for someone other than your father or parent or guardian. Actually, having a boss and getting an official paycheck - you know one where taxes are removed from your gross pay? My second job that fits this description was at a McDonald's. I started out on the front counter, and I was not fast enough for the cash register, so I was moved to the grills. I was very thankful for that move. I cooked hamburgers, fries, chicken McNuggets, breakfast sandwiches and prepared other stuff. What I discovered that I was very good at was being focused on closing the lines down, cleaning the cooking surfaces, and the equipment. I was put on a team of others who were very good at closing. This one assistant manager loved having us as his closing team because we saved him from having to use too many overtime hours. Working at McDonalds I had many lessons that have stayed with me forever. On this episode I share some of what I learned. A recurring theme from the grocery store that appears at McDonalds is that "you always have something to do." Join me as I reflect on being a team member, owning the job, being flexible, and what you could do when you had down time. So, did you have a first job that created lessons that impact you and your job today? What were those lifelong lessons? It would be great if you shared those lessons with me. If you go to my website there is a box that lets you contact me. There also is a place that you could leave me a voice message. Thanks for listening. Please share. It would be awesome to hear from you. Next episode: Working at a plumbing supply warehouse. I get to drive trucks! - Cool! All the best!
