What happens when a weary soul encounters the living Word of God? In this powerful message, we open Psalm 119:25–28 and discover that the Word of God is not merely informative—it is restorative. Scripture reveals that God's Word revives the weary, strengthens the weak, restores the broken, and sustains the believer. As part of our ARISE vision—Awaken. Restore. Invest. Send. Expand.—this service focuses on the truth that awakening is only the beginning. God does not simply wake His people; He restores them, and His Word is the source. In this message, you'll hear how the Word of God: • Restores joy to the weary soul • Rekindles fire, praise, and worship in difficult seasons • Renews strength for endurance • Rebuilds hope for the future • Reawakens purpose in every believer We also proclaim the gospel clearly—restoration begins with reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ. By His blood, we are redeemed. By grace through faith, we are made new. And through the living Word, restoration continues in our lives today. If you are hurting, weary, discouraged, or searching for renewal, this service is for you. Shady Grove Church is committed to being a church of restoration—a refuge church—where the Word is honored and the Spirit moves.

On today's podcast: 1) President Trump warned Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro not to challenge the US, and vowed to keep oil seized from a supertanker but declined to say if he’s seeking to oust the Venezuelan leader. “He can do whatever he wants to do, whatever he wants to do, if he wants to do something, if he plays tough, it’ll be the last time he’s ever able to play tough,” Trump told reporters at a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday evening. Asked if he would try to push Maduro out, he responded, “That’s up to him.” Trump spoke after the US stepped up its blockade of tankers going to and from Venezuela over the weekend, boarding a non-sanctioned ship owned by a Hong Kong-based entity on Saturday and pursuing a third oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela. Another very large crude carrier, the Skipper, was intercepted on Dec. 10. 2) During Monday's press conference, Trump also said he believed “people are very angry that pictures are being released” that connect them to notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, days after the Justice Department released a new tranche of files tied to the late financier. Trump said he hated to see former President Bill Clinton, who appeared frequently in the release, being tarnished by the association, describing the situation as “terrible.” The Epstein files, and the fight over their disclosure, have sparked infighting among Trump’s supporters, adding to the political headwinds that the president is facing heading into next year’s midterm elections. 3) President Trump reiterated his desire for US control over Greenland on Monday, after announcing plans to appoint Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry as a special envoy to the island. The president said Landry was “a deal-maker-type guy” who could help execute his vision for taking control of the territory. The president also said his desire was not rooted in Greenland’s energy or mineral reserves — saying the US had plenty of resources — but that he did not believe Denmark had devoted enough spending to protect the island.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Host John Lund recaps Louisville hoops beating Kentucky at home, 96-88, to finally take back the rivalry, and with the player on the floor. Freshman Mikel Brown Jr. was phenomenal for the Cards, dropping 29 points and hitting the big shots when needed as the leader on the floor. Ryan Conwell was the perfect compliment in the backcourt, Isaac McKneely showed off his sharp shooting and Sananda Fru had a sellout crowd chanting his name. After a breakfast ball last year, Pat Kelsey got the best of Mark Pope and hopefully brought set forth on a new era for the Battle of the Bluegrass. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. We all feel the tug-of-war between who we want to be and what keeps pulling us off course. Mike names it plainly: the cycle of sin, shame, and striving that leaves us worn out and wondering if real change is even possible. But what if freedom isn't about fixing ourselves, but learning how to walk with the Spirit? This isn't about sin management. It's about coming home to love that disarms fear and reshapes desire, from the inside out.

Study Passage: Exodus 6:2-7:72 God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord. 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them. 4 I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as sojourners. 5 Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the people of Israel whom the Egyptians hold as slaves, and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment. 7 I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God, and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. I will give it to you for a possession. I am the Lord.'” 9 Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery. 10 So the Lord said to Moses, 11 “Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the people of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, the people of Israel have not listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?” 13 But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge about the people of Israel and about Pharaoh king of Egypt: to bring the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt. (14-25) These are the heads of their fathers' houses: the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel…The sons of Simeon… the sons of Levi…Amram took as his wife Jochebed…and she bore him Aaron and Moses… 26 These are the Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said: “Bring out the people of Israel from the land of Egypt by their hosts.” 27 It was they who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the people of Israel from Egypt, this Moses and this Aaron. 28 On the day when the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, 29 the Lord said to Moses, “I am the Lord; tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you.” 30 But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips. How will Pharaoh listen to me?” 7 And the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. 2 You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall tell Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go out of his land. 3 But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, 4 Pharaoh will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my hosts, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment. 5 The Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring out the people of Israel from among them.” 6 Moses and Aaron did so; they did just as the Lord commanded them. 7 Now Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh.

On today's podcast:1) Jimmy Kimmel returned to TV, saying "it was never my intention to make light of the death of a young man" and addressing controversy over his remarks about the shooting of Charlie Kirk. Kimmel called Kirk's killer "a sick person" and said the willingness of Kirk's widow Erika to forgive the assassin was an "example we should follow." Kimmel's show was reinstated after he personally negotiated his return with Disney CEO Bob Iger and Dana Walden, and he noted that the company "didn't have to" welcome him back on the air.2) President Trump said NATO nations should shoot down Russian aircraft that violated their airspace. The president expressed a sympathetic tone on Ukraine's chances of winning the war, saying he believed Ukraine could reclaim all territory taken by Russia. President Trump criticized Russia, saying it was "fighting aimlessly" and made the country look like "a paper tiger," while the Kremlin pushed back, saying Russia "maintains its resilience and stability."3) Fed Chair Jay Powell said the outlooks for the labor market and inflation face risks, calling it a "challenging situation." Powell stated that "near-term risks to inflation are tilted to the upside and risks to employment to the downside — a challenging situation" and that "two-sided risks mean that there is no risk-free path."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What if healing from trauma wasn't just about your nervous system, but also your immune system? What if science could show us that your body is capable of renewal—faster than you think? In this mini episode, Dr. Aimie Apigian is joined by Dr. Jeffrey Bland, founder of the Institute for Functional Medicine and one of the leading voices in integrative health. Together, they discuss why trauma isn't just psychological—it's biological, affecting the nervous, immune, and metabolic systems in ways that can keep people stuck in cycles of fatigue, pain, and emotional struggle. Dr. Bland shares groundbreaking research on immune rejuvenation, including how certain ancient foods like tart buckwheat can reverse signs of immune aging in as little as 90 days. Paired with Dr. Aimie's insights on trauma biology, this conversation offers hope that no matter your past, your biology is not a life sentence. In this episode you'll hear more about: Why trauma acts like a “dimmer switch” on joy and vitality The powerful crosstalk between the immune and nervous systems How trauma biology accelerates immune system aging—and how to reverse it Clinical trial results showing a 47% reduction in immune age in 90 days Why the immune system renews every 90–120 days and what that means for healing The three pillars of immune rejuvenation: polyphenols, microbiome integrity, and Omega-3s Why trauma healing is about applying the right tools at the right leverage points Trauma doesn't just live in your past—it can live in your cells. But the science shows us that your immune system and nervous system can both be renewed. This episode is a reminder that healing is possible, and your body knows the way forward.
