In Episode 392 of For All You Kids Out There, after a stint on the Covid-IL, Jeffrey and Jarrett are back to talk about the Mets arbitration agreements (and non-agreements). We'd say this leads to the longest digression in podcast history, but that's probably not true. It's a long one though. We also eventually remember to discuss the Mets signing Tommy Pham, and of course to answer your correspondence, which has piled up a bit.

The playoffs are here, and the Bomber Brothers are back! After a stint on the COVID IL, Shaun is back with Ryan to look back on a regular season highlighted by the ridiculousness of Aaron Judge, and a crucial division title and first-round bye. Shaun and Ryan break down the advantages of playing either the Guardians or the Rays in the ALDS, and ponder what the Yankees starting lineup should look like in the playoffs, versus what the Yanks are likely to do. Sweeny and Keith are back together after Sweeny's return from the COVID IL, and what a time to be back after an improbable comeback sparked by Aaron Judge's 60th home run. Producer Ryan Chichester joins to face the music after leaving the game before Giancarlo Stanton's grand slam, and Keith and Sweeny sing more praises for Aaron Judge, who should be the MVP. Is the Triple Crown now on the table? Plus, a promising debut for Harrison Bader, and some concerns about the Yankee bullpen. Graham Ashcraft pitched another gem for the Cincinnati Reds as they beat the Washington Nationals. Jeff looks at what Ashcraft has done in his first three games and why it is sustainable. He also wonders at Ashcraft's ability to be this team's ace of the future, though Hunter Greene and Nick Lodolo will have something to say about that. Joey Votto hit another home run and continued the absolute tear he's been on since returning from the COVID IL. As good as Boot has looked, though, there is one worry that the Reds should have about him and it's not really something Votto can control.*SUBSCRIBE* on YouTube and *FOLLOW* the podcast on your favorite app and on Twitter and Instagram @lockedonredsAlso follow @jefffcarr and @soffenbaker on Twitter Call or text (513) 549-0159Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. That's more like it! The San Francisco Giants got a much-needed split against the Cardinals this weekend, salvaging the series by winning the last two games. Buster Posey day sparked the Giants to a blowout win on Saturday, and clutch home runs and pitching performances propelled the Giants to a close win on Mother's Day.They're getting healthy. Brandon Belt, Dom Leone, and Zack Littell were activated off the Covid-IL. LaMonte Wade Jr. finally returned from his knee injury that had kept him out the entire season. Mike Yastrzemski recently came back from the Covid IL and has continued to swing a hot all season. He added a clutch splash hit that was instrumental in Sunday's 4-3 win.Alex Cobb's spectacular peripherals are discussed. He has an unsightly 4.80 ERA, but the peripherals suggest much better results are coming. He's striking people out at a well-above-average rate, and inducing a crazy rate of ground balls. He, along with Carlos Rodón, Logan Webb, Alex Wood, Anthony DeSclafani, Jakob Junis, Matthew Boyd, and others, should put the Giants in a position to win pretty much every single day.The Rockies come into town next, with the same 16-12 record as the Giants. However, unlike the Giants, the Rockies have a negative run differential. They've been able to play above their weight class so far, but regression is likely coming. The San Francisco Giants have been outscored 48-21 while losing six of their last seven games. There's no doubt they've been on a downward spiral, but it's important to maintain perspective. They're still 14-11 with a +18 run differential. They have guys coming back. A lot of the numbers this past week look fluky and unsustainable. Baseball is a crazy game sometimes, and right now the Giants are in the midst of a rut we haven't seen from them in a while. They're struggling to score and they're struggling to prevent runs. Thankfully, guys are coming back and they should be able to get into a better offensive groove soon. Joc Pederson and Mike Yastrzemski are healthy and back on the roster. LaMonte Wade Jr. could be activated as soon as tonight. Tyler Beede was designated for assignment yesterday. The Giants needed a 40-man and 26-man roster spot in order to activate Zack Littell off the Covid-IL. Beede was struggling in a mop-up role, so this is the end of the line for the Giants' 2014 first-round draft pick. He'll likely be traded in the next week. Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants have won twice as many regular season games as they've lost since the start of the 2021 season. At 120-60, the Giants have the best record in baseball over that span. It's a remarkable achievement for a team that people expected to struggle in both 2021 and 2022. After leading the majors with 107 wins last year, the Giants trail only the Mets in winning percentage so far in 2022. Last night, it was another dazzling performance by Carlos Rodón, who has been nothing short of dominant over his first four starts. He leads the majors in strikeout rate, and has allowed three or fewer hits and one or fewer runs while striking out eight or more in all four of his starts. Jacob deGrom is the only other pitcher in the to do that over any four-game span in the modern era. Wilmer Flores and Austin Slater each hit three-run homers as the SF Giants coasted to a victory and a 13-5 record. It was their third straight win, each in consecutive days and in a different time zone. Zack Littell landed on the injured list prior to the game after testing positive for Covid-19. He joins Mike Yastrzemski on the Covid-IL. Kervin Castro was added to the roster as a replacement. Tonight, Sam Long will take the mound for the injured Anthony DeSclafani. Long has been fantastic, and Jakob Junis is likely to pitch after Long opens. Junis had a spectacular debut with the Giants in a bullpen game on Friday. Finally, the Giants' trade for Kevin Padlo is discussed. Find and follow Locked On Giants on your favorite podcast platforms:

The rotation has been really good though in part for reasons explained by the title of this episode. We also answer your correspondence on predicting plus major league outcomes, if any manager is good at bullpen management, barrel control versus hitting ability, and much more.
Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants
On today's Locked On Giants podcast, host Ben Kaspick discusses the San Francisco Giants' record-setting 104th win of the year, the most the franchise has had in the San Francisco era. Despite the historic accomplishment, the Giants still don't have the NL West division crown wrapped up with just four games remaining. The Dodgers, on paper one of the greatest teams ever assembled, have 102 wins and are right on the Giants' heels. They trailed 9-5 in the 7th last night but stormed back with five home runs in the final two frames to defeat the Padres 11-9. The Giants' magic number to clinch the West is three, setting up a critical matchup tonight against former Giants legend Madison Bumgarner.Last night's win was tense, and unusual for this Giants club. Alex Wood was the star, firing six more shutout innings. Since coming off the COVID IL, Wood has been absolutely brilliant, striking out 17 and walking zero. That bodes very well for a potentially long run in the playoffs, as the Giants have four healthy and effective starters they can rely on for the time being. But the Giants struggled to score on Wednesday, ultimately scoring their one and only run on a single, stolen base, sacrifice bunt, and sacrifice fly. It was a manufactured run for the Giants, who normally out-slug their opponents. This sparked the debate about whether the Giants are "too reliant on home runs," which Ben argues is a flawed and incorrect argument.Watch Daily on YouTube http://bit.ly/LOGYouTubeSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. On today's episode of Locked On Yankees, Stacey recaps Gerrit Cole's first game back from the COVID-IL and it was a win for the Yankees. A scary one because it was a one-run game for the final eight innings which is always scary with the Yankees' bullpen. Then Stacey is in shock as they try and figure out how on earth the Yankees didn't allow the Red Sox to score in the seventh inning of Tuesday's afternoon game when they had the bases loaded and no outs!Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Locked On Cardinals - Daily Podcast On The St. Louis Cardinals Podcast
Any sweep is a good sweep, but a sweep against a division foe is always one to celebrate. The St. Louis Cardinals did just that by sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park over the weekend. A lot of things went well for the Redbirds, scoring 15 runs on 25 hits over the first two games and then Carlos Martinez dominating in game three. Tyler O'Neill looks like a new player, and John Gant is still good at baseball. The Cardinals come back home for a four-game set with the Mets, and Adam Wainwright gets the ball in game one in his first start back from the COVID IL.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants
On today's Locked On Giants podcast, host Ben Kaspick talks about three things we learned this weekend with the San Francisco Giants. The first thing we learned is that the Giants' starting pitchers have carried the team to its 9-6 start. Alex Wood made his Giants debut on Sunday, and he kept the line moving with five shutout innings. Kevin Gausman, Johnny Cueto, Anthony DeSclafani, and Aaron Sanchez have also pitched well in all of their starts. The second thing we learned is that the Giants made several roster moves over the weekend. Jake McGee, who blew his first save of the year on Saturday, was placed on the Covid-IL, along with Logan Webb, due to side effects from the vaccine. Chadwick Tromp was also called up because Posey is dealing with elbow discomfort after a HBP. Camilo Doval was also added to the roster, and he had a dominant first appearance on Sunday. Finally, we learned that the Giants offense is officially off to a slow start. Mike Yastrzemski continues to scuffle, and the Giants were fortunate to escape with a win on Sunday despite scoring only one run. Several key underlying metrics suggest that the Giants should be on the verge of breaking out at the plate, but that just hasn't yet materialized. Circling back to the first thing we learned, the starting pitchers have carried the load for a struggling offense and sometimes shaky bullpen.Listen to The Ultimate Mock Draft 2021 presented by Audacy and the Locked On Podcast Network. Locked On Blue Jays - Daily Podcast On The Toronto Blue Jays
Typical Blue Jays to wait until after midnight to start hitting...A.J. Andrews said she had some special anger saved up for the Blue Jays batters on this episode, ...but it's tough to do when recording in the middle of a 15-1 beat'emdown of the Angels. Still! There are problems! Andrews highlights some of the prime offenders like Rowdy Tellez and Danny Jansen, and even some of the young stars. She discusses the expanded zone that some hitters are giving to pitchers, and the lack of consistency that is hurting them at the plate. Plus, she touches on the COVID-IL tango that the Blue Jays are going through at the moment. At least it brought Josh Palacios up to do what he did tonight.Follow the podcast on Twitter @LockedOnJays and follow the host @A_J_Andrews!Subscribe on Himalaya, Google Play, Spotify, the Audacy app and iTunes! Please help us donate to social justice causes at https://lockedonpodcasts.com/blacklivesmatter/This episode is sponsored by Jays From the Couch, Built Bar, BetOnline AG, Rock Auto and the Locked On Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! With Joey Votto on the COVID IL it would only make sense for the Reds to move a few guys around in the field to create the optimal lineup, right? Jeff wonders why they won't do that. He also gives his power rankings for the final two rotation spots and a thought about Brandon Finnegan.*SUBSCRIBE* and follow @jefffcarr and @lockedonreds on TwtterCall or text (513) 549-0159Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
