They certainly keep things entertaining don't they? The Brewers needed all nine innings to tie the game and eventually win it with the long ball in the bottom of the ninth thanks to Keston Hiura's 14th homer of the season in a 7-5 win over the Pirates. Garrett Mitchell chose a perfect time for his first MLB home run with a shot to right-center field to tie the game in the eighth inning. It will go down as one of the moments and images of the season when Mitchell saluted the crowd for a curtain call out of the dugout. The win was especially important with the Padres defeating the Giants, so the Brewers didn't lose any ground in the wild card chase. They are essentially two games back with 35 games to go of a playoff spot. Another factor for the win was the Brewer offense picking up an "off-axis" Corbin Burnes at the moment. Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) goes through an injury update, three plays you may have forgotten about, and a mini rant about why you play all nine innings. The Brewers needed two homers from Keston Hiura to salvage the finale against the Cubs as the Crew got out of Chicago with only one win over the weekend. The 5-2 win was anchored by Keston Hiura's great performance and another homer from Rowdy Tellez. With each of the first two games being decided by one run, it was nice for the Brewers to create some breathing room for the final frame thanks to "KestDaddy." Are there positives from a series loss to the Cubs? Can the Brewers actually make the playoffs despite poor play vs the bottom half of the central? What's left in this season to salvage? For the second time in his career, Keston Hiura won a game with a walk-off home run. His two-run blast in the 11th sealed the win and the series for the Brewers over the Braves on Wednesday from American Family Field. The 7-6 final score barely tells the story of the game, the Crew actually accomplished their largest come-from-behind win this season. The "ace-off" didn't materialize as advertised, as Corbin Burnes and Max Fried exited with no decisions. The bullpen was particularly key for the Brewers, keeping them in the game to set the stage for Kolten Wong to tie it in the 9th frame. Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) takes you through the five plays (+one) from this game you may have forgotten about that were key moments in this contest for the Brewers to win it. Rowdy Tellez breaks a record that's been standing since 1970 thanks to an explosive game, part of a monster homestand for the offense. But then Atlanta happened.
