With the Dallas Cowboys trading for wide receiver George Pickens late Tuesday night, it got us thinking: How many options out there do the New Orleans Saints have if they want to bring in a veteran wide receiver? Keenan Allen? Amari Cooper? The newly released Gabe Davis? That's our lead topic on Wednesday's Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 371) presented by Evangeline Securities, as host Jim Derry asks for thoughts from the Dat Family, and they have plenty of them. Jim also says the spotlight on this weekend's rookie camp won't just be on quarterback Tyler Shough, but where Coach Kellen Moore and his staff will start off with first-round pick Kelvin Banks. Oh, and we look forward to seeing linebacker Danny Stutsman and a couple others. To finish it off, Man vs. Machine has a pick in one of Wednesday's NBA playoff games, and in the ‘Last Word,' we talk about the best college baseball team in Louisiana – yep, LSU. Nope, not that LSU. Rather, the LSU that's 51-0. (Head north, young man.)
After a brief intro the guys jump into talking about Gavin Sawchuk entering the transfer portal (2:15). The Sooners pick up a new wide receiver out of the portal and we have no idea if he will be a relevant player in 2025. Grant wishes OU would have paid a lot of money for the Cal transfer tight end (12:50). The Sooners picked up a new kicker out of the portal and we hope he makes field goals when asked to do so (22:40). We wanted OU to pick up a new corner out of the portal, but that didn't happen. The Sooners also lost a quarterback to the portal. Does this mean Hawkins has improved (31:10)? Danny Stutsman and Billy Bowman got drafted over the weekend plus the guys deal with some technical difficulties. Is it a problem that OU only had 2 players drafted in 2025 (38:30)? A shocking Dillon Gabriel draft position. Grant was bored by Shedeur Sanders taking up all the oxygen over the weekend (51:00). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonTweets

1. Is the way the Commanders utilize Frankie Luvu the best way to get the most out of Jalon Walker?2. Can Jihaad Campbell be a Micah Parsons-type weapon* for an NFL defense, and do you think he's worth a top-15 pick or higher? 3. Are you concerned Carson Schwesinger will lose a significant amount of that speed with the 18 pounds he added? Keep in mind, even losing a tenth of a second of your speed is a big deal in the NFL.4. Given his age (25) plus the mixed reviews from evaluators as to whether or not he can hold up on all three downs, can you see Demetrius Knight, Jr. falling to Day 3?5. Do you see Danny Stutsman making a similar impact as Chad Greenway did at the NFL level?6. Buy Or Sell-Jeffrey Bassa, Chris Paul, Jack Kiser, Barrett Carter, Cody Simon, Cody Lindenberg, Smael Mondon, Jr.
Reacting to Danny Stutsman, Ethan Downs' performances at the NFL combine.
In the absence of new developments on the defensive coordinator front, the Guyz revisit some of their priors with the Jim Knowles' pursuit, what the holdup might be, and how the fit would ultimately work if he does sign on as the next defensive coordinator at the University of Oklahoma. We dip our toes into recruiting waters, as the coaches are visiting high schools this week and OU made the cut for a couple 2026 guys. Next, Danny Stutsman and Billy Bowman are headed to the Senior Bowl soon, so the Guyz discussed their hopes for those two and Ethan Downs as NFL draft prospects. Finally, there's some light discussion on the CFP and NFL playoff hunt, before we round the show out with our PGP MVPz of the Week.

Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview South Carolina's road trip to Oklahoma, which can be seen on the SEC Network at 11:45 Central. Topics include: The Gamecocks nearly pulled an upset at Alabama, while injury-plagued Oklahoma couldn't move the ball last week against Texas. Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers is a headache to handle as a big guy who can really run. Rocket Sanders has flashed good things much of the year, just as he did against Alabama. Is Nyck Harbor nearing a breakout after a big catch last week? Oklahoma's run defense, led by Grayson Halton and Danny Stutsman, has been excellent. South Carolina turns the ball over frequently, and could be at risk of a Billy Bowman pick-6. But Oklahoma also turns the ball over, and the Carolina defense, with Dylan Stewart and Kyle Kennard up front and Nick Emmanwori, O'Donnell Fortune, Vicari Swain and others on the back end, can also create scores of its own. Michael Hawkins did big things in the win over Auburn, but does he have enough help to beat an outstanding defense? Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview and share their predictions for the Red River Rivalry game between Texas and Oklahoma in Week 7 of the 2024 college football season. Topics include: Texas has incredible offensive depth, starting with the quarterback room of a (presumably healthy) Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning. The Longhorns have so many players on offense including Gunnar Helm, Isaiah Bond, Ryan Wingo, Matthew Golden, Jaydon Blue and Jerrick Gibson. Oklahoma's defense has 18 sacks and has forced turnovers on an elite 3.8% of snaps. The Longhorns' offensive line, led by Kelvin Banks, will have to be up to the task of blocking Danny Stutsman and company while Texas will have to keep the ball out of safety Billy Bowman's hands. Oklahoma has been injury-riddled at offensive line and receiver. Can the Sooners get a little healthier following a bye week? The Sooners will also get Michael Hawkins an extra week of practicing with the first team; Hawkins started the season as a backup to Jackson Arnold. Oklahoma has guys who can make plays like Deion Burks and (if they can get him healthy) Nic Anderson. Texas has so many playmakers on defense; seven different players (Jahdae Barron, Ethan Burke, Andrew Mukuba, Wardell Mack, Jay'Vion Cole, Derek Williams and Anthony Hill) have interceptions and the Longhorns have plenty of other playmakers up front like Trey Moore and David Gbenda. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee predict the outcome of Tennessee's road trip to Oklahoma. Topics include: Tennessee's Nico Iamaleava leads what's been an unstoppable offensive machine that averages nearly 64 points per game. The Vols' Dylan Sampson has been one of the country's best running backs for a team that tries to run 59% of the time. - The Vols have innumerable targets like Squirrel White, Bru McCoy, Dont'e Thornton, Chris Brazzell II and others. But the Vols haven't seen a defense like Oklahoma's ball-hawking bunch. The Sooners feature first-team All-Americans Billy Bowman and Danny Stutsman as well as other talented players like Gracen Halton, Woodi Washington, Kendel Dolby and others. The Sooners' offense got a bit more on track last week thanks to dual-threat quarterback Jackson Arnold, who led the Sooners to victory over Tulane. Oklahoma's rushing attack hasn't been what we expected with Gavin Sawchuk, but Jovantae Barnes picked things up with a nice game vs. Tulane. Tennessee's defense allows just 4.3 points per game, and a front led by James Pearce Jr., Omar Norman-Lott, Omari Thomas, Keenan Pili and others. Watch the injuries for Oklahoma. The Sooners were without Dolby last week, and also have tons of injures on offense including WR Nic Anderson, WR Jaril Farooq (out), OL Geirean Hatchett (out), Branson Hickman (questionable) and others. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview Oklahoma vs. Houston and share their predictions for the matchup at Memorial Stadium in Norman, which kicks off at 6:45 Central on Saturday, September 7th, and can be seen on SEC Network. The Sooners are 29.5-point favorites. Topics include: The Sooners lost Branson Hickman and had to re-shuffle the line in the win over Temple; how does that look this week? Will we see more from Gavin Sawchuk this week? Jackson Arnold makes his second start as the Sooners' quarterback. Oklahoma's defense dominated last week against Temple, and it was more than just All-Americans Billy Bowman and Danny Stutsman. Willie Fritz's Houston debut didn't go well with a 27-7 loss to UNLV in which quarterback Donovan Smith and the offense struggled. Jamal Morris and Michael Batton led a respectable performance by the Houston defense last week. The Sooners are nearly 30-point favorites; will this be another lopsided win for Oklahoma?
