How do Texas fans stomach a disappointing first season in Austin for Texas head football coach Steve Sarkisian? What's their expectation for Quinn Ewers and company heading into 2022? Red River Rivalry, the day after episode..How are you feeling about the rest of the season Longhorn Nation?Casey Thomspon was SOLID at quarterback. Bijon Robinson was Bijon but OU's defense began to contain him in the final 1.5 quarters. I'd say, there should be optimism but with patience. This team fought and started well early vs Oklahoma. Literally attacked and were aggressive. The problem is producing two aggressive and relentless halves. Both the offensive and defensive line are works in progress currently. And, tackling is an issue. Too many missed tackles.Oklahoma found their quarterback after Texas forced Spencer Rattler to the bench for the 2nd straight season.Caleb Williams will more than likely become OU's starter. I wouldn't surprised if Rattler enters the transfer portal in the off season. Texas head coach, Steve Sarkisian said this team's metal will be tested as the team's preseason goals of winning a Big 12 title remain on the table. Texas hosts 11th ranked Oklahoma State on Saturday at 11 AM.Meanwhile, in College Station the Aggie flipped the direction of their season by upsetting #1 Alabama on Jimbo Fisher's birthday.Special thanks to both: saxtoninsurance.com & Cosmic Coffee + Beer GardenSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/StoriesManCave)

Geoff and Matt return to make their picks for the three best games in college football this coming weekend, Georgia vs. Auburn, Penn St. vs. Iowa, and Oklahoma vs. Texas in the Red River Rivalry game at the Cotton Bowl. Geoff says this may be the worst Oklahoma team Texas has faced in eight years, and neither are convinced that Bo Nix will find any success against a Georgia defense that has their sights set on “legendary.”Geoff and Matt talk through every game from the upcoming weekend of NFL action (11:00) to choose their best bets, highlighting a few games they're betting on (Browns vs. Chargers, Giants vs. Cowboys) as well as a few they're staying away from (Titans vs, Jaguars, Niners vs. Cardinals). They break down Russell Wilson's success on Thursday nights, the Dolphins' identity crisis, and whether or not Daniel Jones can be trusted in big games.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

No one can break down a game like Rod Babers. The Longhorn great joins the On Second Thought podcast this week to give a primer on the Texas-Oklahoma showdown in Dallas.  Babers, the host of the RBKD weekdays on 104.9 The Horn, famously returned an interception 73 yards for a touchdown in the 2002 Red River battle. On today's show, he will climb into the psyches of coaches Steve Sarkisian and Lincoln Riley and share his unique perspective on what to expect from them at the Cotton Bowl Saturday. Hosts Cedric Golden and Kirk Bohls also discuss rising critical mass in College with the Aggies hosting top-ranked Alabama Saturday, the surging Dallas Cowboys, plus the sad decline of Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and who the Steelers should target to replace him.
