What an absolute rollercoaster of a Week 7. In this college football podcast, we do our best to make sense of it all. Indiana just went into Autzen Stadium and beat Oregon 30-20, holding the Ducks to 267 yards and looking like the more physical team in the trenches. We break down how Curt Cignetti's Hoosiers pulled off a statement win that has us reconsidering everything we thought we knew about both programs. Meanwhile, Penn State's season completely unraveled with a stunning 22-21 loss to Northwestern at home—their second consecutive loss as 20+ point favorites. We discuss James Franklin's future, Drew Allar's season-ending injury, and whether this program is heading for a complete reset. Beyond that, we cover Alabama's gritty road win at Missouri and Kalen DeBoer's lucky hoodie, Texas taking care of business in the Red River Rivalry, Ohio State's dominant performance over Illinois, and USC bullying Michigan. We also dive into Texas A&M's impressive 34-17 win over Florida that has the Aggies looking like legitimate SEC contenders, Pitt's road upset of Florida State, matching 20-10 wins for both Georgia and LSU, and all the other carnage from an action-packed Week 7 of college football. Texas and Oklahoma renew the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Saturday. You can catch the game at 2:30 Central on ABC. Topics in our preview include: Will Oklahoma start John Mateer or Michael Hawkins at quarterback? Texas's offense averages 6.2 per play, but much of that has come against bad teams or in games when the Longhorns trailed late. Oklahoma's defense has been terrific. The Sooners allow 7.2 points and 193 yards per game, and just 3.5 per play. Texas's defense has also been elite: 12.0 points and 261 yards per game, with 4.3 per play. However, the Longhorns gave up 29 points and 457 yards to a Florida team that had been awful offensively coming into last week's game. The Longhorns' Arch Manning continues to struggle. *GAMETIME SIDEKICKS* Use promo code SE16 for 20% off! http://www.gametimesidekicks.com/ HOF Get a 7-Day Free Trial + 50% Off your first month with code SE16. Jeff Howe and CJ Vogel didn't hold back after a frustrating, sloppy loss in Gainesville. The Longhorns dropped to 3–2, and this one stung because it was full of self-inflicted wounds. Missed opportunity from the jump, defense disappoints early but redeems late, offense out of sync, penalty & discipline meltdown, special teams nightmare and more! The final mood? Frustration, disappointment, and disbelief. Texas let one slip away—again. But with the Red River Rivalry up next, Sark and the Horns have to regroup fast or risk the season spiraling.

It has been a busy Week 5 in college football and there haven't even been any games played yet. Tuesday was a drama filled day in the state of Oklahoma. It was announced that three games into his 21st season, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was fired. The Oklahoma State legend had taken the school to unprecedented heights, but in recent years there was more struggle than triumph. Losing 11 of his last 12 games, and starting the year with a 1-2 record, that included a 69-3 loss to Oregon and a loss to Tulsa, appeared to be the final straw. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey react to the firing and discuss where it all started to go wrong for Gundy in recent years. Plus, some other news that came out on Tuesday was that Oklahoma's starting quarterback, John Mateer, broke his hand in Oklahoma's victory over Auburn and needed surgery. He is presumed to be out about a month, but no official timeline has been released. The guys discuss if Oklahoma can survive without Mateer, especially heading into the Red River Rivalry on Oct. 11. Can they still make the playoffs with a few losses if they look good when Mateer returns? Later, Ross gives us his report from the commissioners' meetings this week. Ross was on-site for the meetings where the College Football Playoff formats of the future were discussed. How soon may we get a new format or will we get one at all? It appears a new committee may be formed to help aid in that decision. A frustrated Godfrey chimes in with Andy as the guys give their thoughts on the proceedings. Plus, Ross gives us an update on the SCORE Act in his Congressional Minute. Finally, the guys discuss games. It is a loaded week of fantastic matchups in college football and the guys try to get to as many games as they can. They spoke Tuesday about the big game at Penn State, but what about another big matchup in Athens, GA as #17 Alabama visits #5 Georgia. Plus, top ranked Ohio State goes to Washington, #4 LSU visits #13 Ole Miss and #11 Indiana looks to keep their momentum going at Iowa. Then the guys give their picks for this week's I've Got A Feeling. Rice, Syracuse and the Notre Dame OVER are the picks for this week!Get ready for an epic week 5 with us at College Football Enquirer.
