This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.splitzoneduo.comOne quarter of the way through the season, Godfrey, Richard, and Alex discuss five teams that are off to terrible starts and haven't fired their coaches yet. They all look doomed to at least a bad season and maybe more than that, but can we find reasons for hope? In this episode: * How Billy Napier's staff management at Florida has made him an easy target for criticism as DJ Lagway has gone backward in his second year * Oklahoma State has fallen behind not just the blue-bloods of the sport, but most of the Big 12. Mike Gundy no longer looks like the guy to fix it* Wisconsin built its roster expecting that it could still act like the Wisconsin of the 2010s, putting a moneyball QB into a good support system. But the Badgers might not be able to operate that way anymore. * Northwestern is going in the wrong direction under David Braun. That doesn't look like his fault, but he also probably isn't the man to fix it. (Also, Pat Fitzgerald is probably getting back into coaching soon. Just saying.) * Liberty has so much more money than its peers but has now lost six of its last 10 games going back to last October. Maybe Jamey Chadwell's trick at Coastal Carolina wasn't as portable as once thought. After going through each of this situations, we wonder: Which of these programs has the best chance to get back on an upward path soon? Three weeks into the college football season and there have already been two head coaches fired. UCLA's DeShaun Foster and Virginia Tech's Brent Pry are out. Neither coach had won a game this season. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey talk about where the Bruins and Hokies go from here in their search for a new leader. They also discuss who may be next on the chopping block. After struggling to begin the season, Florida's Billy Napier, Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy and Wisconsin's Luke Fickell are names to keep an eye on. Can these coaches turn it around and cool off the hot seat like some other coaches have done this year?Later in the show, the guys chat about a new trend in college football for how to revamp a struggling offense. The new philosophy is to bring over another school's offensive coordinator and his quarterback. Two successful examples of this, so far this season, are Oklahoma's OC Ben Arbuckle and QB John Mateer and Utah's OC Jason Beck and QB Devon Dampier. Andy, Ross and Steven discuss why this new trend is proving to be successful and if they think this will grow to be the norm. The 16th-ranked Utes have a big test this weekend as they host 17th-ranked Texas Tech. It will be a clash of offseason philosophies, as the Red Raiders focused on investing heavily in NIL to improve their team. Finally, the guys chat about why the ACC has everybody talking. This year they've rolled out a new level of transparency as they have decided to let you behind the curtain during replay reviews. This new level of insight has excited and intrigued many people in the college football landscape. Andy, Ross and Steven give their thoughts and discuss whether this could lead to even larger levels of access for the viewer in the future. All of this and more on today's College Football Enquirer.(1:39) - DeShaun Foster and Brent Pry fired(15:44) - Who may be the next head coach to go?(33:02) - The new OC/QB package deal philosophy (49:25) - ACC's new replay transparency on broadcasts Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

Send us a textBen and Scott discuss whether it's time for Mike Gundy to step down as Oklahoma State's head football coach after the team's devastating loss to Oregon.• Gundy transformed OSU from an afterthought into a nationally respected program with 15 Top 25 finishes• Last season was Gundy's worst as head coach with only three wins• The Oregon game exposed fundamental issues with coaching, discipline, and player development• OSU's performance compared to Oklahoma shows a significant gap despite more coaching changes at OU• Like Kodak's failure to adapt to digital photography, Gundy may be unable to take the program to the next level• The best path forward would be for Gundy to resign gracefully to preserve his legacy while allowing fresh leadership• A leadership change would likely improve recruiting and revitalize the program with new energy and innovation Support the showI ♥ my podcast host @Buzzsprout.
