Murphy Reid could be the first dual purple role citizenship recipient. We haven't seen skills and smarts like that since David Mundy got the tap on the shoulder! Time to Restump Podcast the brushing aside of the Eagles. We celebrate the win and welcome the four points but we left a lot score out there and the questionable skills remained on display. You get the feeling that while it was enjoyable, after the dust settled, it was more of a relief than it was a thumping return to form. The return to form of Caleb Serong was a sight to behold, but to be honest, there was no reason why he shouldn't have against such opposition. And right there lies the mixed feelings when reviewing and assessing Sunday. You want be thrilled and elated by a win, but after the first two weeks Sunday's performance had to be about method and process rather than score. Had we lost that game, the season was over but despite our form in rounds one and two, what West Coast were able to serve up and where they're at as a club, the result was pretty much a formality. But you can only take out of it what was served up. Yes, we saw the Caleb Serong and Andy Brayshaw we have come to know and love so well. Luke Jackson put in a staggeringly good performance, Jai Amiss found some footy and space between the big sticks, the Captain ensured Oscar remained in his trash can, we got to enjoy Izzy Dudley's polished debut and, amongst some extremely ordinary ball use, we got to see some super smarts and some silk in the form of Murphy Reid. So, we take the positives and a measured approach to the value and the meaningfulness of the victory. Maybe not as pronounced and maybe there has been some improvement, but the reality is you couldn't watch that game and not understand how poor west coast eagles are and you surely can't think the issues from round one and two have evaporated. We've obviously got plenty of work to do but the four points on Sunday gave a shot of life to our season. The Bulldogs next week will be a formidable opponent and it will tell us where we are and what to make of yesterday.Jojo took umbrage at the AFL's pathetic post-game AI generated image so we'll see what his beef is about. And the Chief is disappointed at the lack of support for Caleb Serong and the lackluster retaliatory effort after Harley's Reid's cheap shot.We love and cherish a derby victory and we hope it has delivered some much-needed confidence for the team. Is it the embryonic stage of trend change? That remains to be seen. So, grab your microscopes, put on your lab coat, bang on the safety goggles and come with us as we put yesterday under the Bunsen burner. We'll further dissect our first win of the season to find and celebrate the positives while trying to find the missing ball use formula. Send us a textSupport the show

You thought covid was contagious! Inaccuritis is a coordination destroying mental contagion, leaving sufferers incapable of performing simple tasks. Time to Restump Podcast the point kicking epidemic. Call in a priest, this evil presence needs exorcising! Or it may be as simple as tapping David Mundy on the shoulder again and saying, “Dave, come down and show these guys how it's done.”The last two weeks we've kicked 13 goals 33 behinds. We've never been a great goal kicking side but this is beyond anyone's comprehension! Have we got Zac Dawson down there running goal kicking drills? I mean who is taking all our shots on goal…. Nat Fyfe? (Sorry Fyfey, low blow)It's a genuine contagion and when the rot sets in, it sets in. The pressure builds and then every player subsequently taking a shot at goal has the desperation demons in his head. Jye Amiss' radar is so far off its almost sinister! We know Nat Fyfe has never been a great kick but he's lining up 30 metres dead in front and hitting spectators on the wing! And Paddy Voss at the moment, like Crash Davis said in the movie Bull Durham, “couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.” While the numbers are tragic, there are also great silver lining positives to come out of them. Accuracy is predominantly the extent of our game problems. While it's not easily rectifiable, it isn't an unfixable deficiency. And again, while inaccurate, if you consider the scoreless shots and the out of bounds on the full, we generated 13 scoring shots from sources other than the forwards. It is something that has been pronounced in recent weeks suggesting an intentional move, so we're developing.  On top of the inaccurate doom and gloom we did go over there, matched and bettered a similar highly defensive game from the Saints, we kept them to 55 points and we came away with a much needed 4 points. The continual improvement of Matty Johnson coinciding with more midfield time, the goal kicking wingman Jeremy Sharp, Jordan Clark continuing his All-Australian form and the emergence of Brandon Walker are just some more of the positives to come out of the game and reasons to remain upbeat. But at the minute the inaccuracy is a difficult pill to swallow. We got away with it this week but it cost us in more ways than one last week and will do going forward if we don't rectify it. The reality is we're only 4% from 6th place so, as Rosco always says, “Its never as good or as bad as it seems.”After going back-to-back in the Mi Casa Property Boutique competition, Luke Ryan has now gotten the most metres in 12 of the total 40 quarters Freo has played this year. He is as safe as the houses the Mi Casa team buy and sell for their clients! So, with no jackpot to speak of, there'll be another 2 Brothers Foods $50 spend this week when we come up against Lachie Schultz and his Pies.Enough of the carry on here, let's get into the pod to dig deeper into the catastrophic kicking, talk through the mental problems and come to a real solution-based outcome. Who are we kidding… we can only offer more nonsense but come along for the listen anyway. Support the Show.

It's been a great, old fashioned, hot sand feet burning, car seatbelt buckle branding summer! And as we desperately need him this year, we're hoping it's also the Summer of Sam. Time for the Restump Podcast return.January and we're talking footy? It's a tad confusing but we won the bat flip, we've elected to serve and we'll kick with the wind, to the right of screen. It feels a bit Twelfth Man-ish… “Pakistan are going to kick off? What ‘effin' game are we playing here?”Like most years, the external expectations are high. However, there seems to be a lot of doom and gloom about Freo's prospects this year obviously based on season 2023. Happy to say we don't share that sentiment. Sure, the current few injuries to Luke Ryan, Sammy Switkowski and Brennan Cox aren't ideal but they don't appear overly serious. In this late January return podcast, we ask where will the necessary improvement come from this year? Are there any players under serious pressure? Is coach JL under the pump or is it the trashy traditional media going earlier than usual?  The Chief is not suggesting any serial killer accusation vibes but wants to talk the Summer of Sam Switkowski. 27 years of age, just 68 games over 6 years. We desperately need not only a full season out of him, but a career best one as well.  After successfully seeing David Mundy off, attempting to trade Sonny to the Suns and calling for Fyfe's finale …. does Jojo have concerns over the Captain's future? There's a groundswell of support building for the return of a fit Matthew Taberner and when you take a step back and look at it from different angles, you can see the reasons why. Is Fyfe going to beat the old man battered and bruised body odds and hold together? The old dog still has his tricks if the arthritic body allows him to perform them.Did Joel Hamling two-face us? Full of gratitude for Freo on his way out but amongst the hi-brow Sydney sect he suddenly decided he was disrespected. Despite Mrs Corbet keeping the boys well fed with homemade ‘yoyo melting moments,' they are back in better shape than this time 12 months ago, they're a year older and they've got another season and pre-season under their belts. So as far as we're currently concerned…. off with your heads, you defeatist doom-mongers! We're up, we're arked up, revved up, probably a little too hyped up… possibly overstepping the mark and giving away free hits, but offloading the nervous and excited energies is what pre-pre-season is for. So much to discuss so join us for the first Restump Podcast episode for 2024. Furthermore, he will expound on the ways in which homeopathy has the ability to assist us in attaining a profound level of consciousness.   Check out these episode highlights: 01:39 - What sparked David's first interest in homeopathy 04:11 - Polarities of homeopathy and acupuncture 06:48 - The mirror and the magnet 09:13 - The definition of a delusion 16:53 - Diamond's remedy 20:47 - The victim and the aggressor in healing 26:52 - The concept of meaningful coincidences and how they can shape our lives 28:09 - How to tap into your intuition and trust in synchronicity 33:54 - How can homeopaths use the law of attraction in prescribing 36:02 - Getting the basics right 38:16 - You can't apply the sensation method to every patient   About Our Guest: David Mundy is a practitioner of natural medicine with a particular focus on homeopathy. His interest in natural healing was sparked by his own health struggles as a child, which began with a severe reaction to a smallpox vaccination at 18 months old. This led to a cascade of symptoms, including eczema, asthma, hay fever, and allergies, which were treated with conventional medications. As he grew older, Mundy took control of his health and began researching alternative ways to heal. He discovered the power of a healthy diet of fresh, organic, non-processed foods and started receiving acupuncture. However, it was only after trying a homeopathic treatment that he experienced complete healing. This transformative experience inspired Mundy to study natural medicine and eventually become a practitioner of homeopathy himself. He now helps others to achieve their own health and wellness goals through natural, non-invasive methods.
