**This is a classic re-release of episode 22 of The Sign Off: A Frameworth Podcast from August 19, 2021** They called him "The Entertainer" for a reason. Eddie Shack was as exciting on the ice as he was off of it. For a man who grew up illiterate, he managed to chart a path which brought him more success and accolades than some of the most well-read people out there. Along the way he couldn't help but be loved by just about everyone he came across, and as a result his life's story could fill an entire book. In 2019 Brian Ehrenworth, the President of Frameworth Sports Marketing and Frameworth Publishing, recruited Ken Reid to help tell the story of Eddie's life. Before the end of the year, they were touring across Canada celebrating The Entertainer's return to the limelight. In this episode we sit down to recount everything that went into making the book--from the exhaustion to the exhilaration. You can purchase copies of this book in your local bookstore, or by following this link: https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/books/eddie-shack-hockeys-most-entertaining/9781999209803-item.html Send your thoughts, comments, and questions to SignOffPod@Frameworth.com Twitter: @FrameworthSports Instagram: @FrameworthSport Mikey's Twitter: @RetrogradeMikey http://www.frameworth.com (www.frameworth.com)

We're joined this week by Sportsnet's Ken Reid - sportscaster, author and hockey card aficionado. Ken talks about his journey to landing his dream job. We get the lowdown on what mens league hockey looks like in Ken's hometown in Pictou, Nova Scotia. The guys get into all kinds of hockey talk, including a discussion about characters like Stephane Richer, Harold Ballard and Eddie Shack, who Ken wrote a recent book about. They talk about their personal TV bloopers over the years. Ken discusses his books about the NHL's one goal wonders and one game wonders. They also get into a discussion about their experiences with mental health issues. And the time, when he was a kid, that Ken bumped into Russ's mom.
Many people know Frameworth for our work in Sports Marketing, but it's not uncommon for a sports marketing company to take a detour with a project in a different industry. This is because the ideas which work well in sports often work well in entertainment fields such as music, movies, etc. Join us this week for a behind the scenes look at how we managed to secure a project supplying the VIP gifts for worldwide concert tours for artists such as U2, Madonna, Phil Collins, Black Sabbath, and more! We also dig into how this got us on the path to co-author, market, and publish Eddie Shack's biography.
Leave it to someone who talks for a living to give us one of the best interviews we could have asked for. Ken Reid, Sportsnet Broadcaster, Author, and all around sports fan joins us in studio to walk us through what first got him into his obsession with trading cards. We also take the opportunity to get his opinion on NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens) and the craze surrounding NBA's Top Shot, and other similar digital products. Finally, we recap the fantastic time we had putting together Eddie Shack's biography. This is an episode you don't want to miss! **NOTE: We experienced some audio issues in the recording (some clicks and distortion) which we did our best to fix. The finished audio is certainly much better now, but it's still not perfect. Past the introduction the quality seems to get much more acceptable**
Sean and Kyle are back to discuss Austin Matthews recent hot streak, Sidney Crosby's 1000th game, and the Lake Tahoe games before being joined by Sportsnet's own, Ken Reid! Ken's written multiple books and has stories aplenty, including some great ones about guys like Eddie Shack! Listen on HWhockey.net or Subscribe on Apple Podcast's! Proud Full Press NHL affiliate! I'm visiting my sister and her family up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and doing this episode from my mother's 2015 Toyota Camry in the driveway of her home. I felt like a madman, but it's probably all in my head where we all spend most of our time anyway. A great time of year to be in a great place. Feeling very clear headed though I sound quite the opposite. RIP: Former NHL forward Eddie Shack, 4 Maple Leaf titles, The Roots' Malik B, Alan Parker - director of Midnight Express, Mississippi Burning, The Commitments, and Pink Floyd's Wall, Wilford Brimley, 85. "Yer the best GD hitter I ever saw!"

On Thursday’s episode of Spittin’ Chiclets, the guys are joined by Gary Roberts. Gary joins (48:02) to discuss life after hockey, his 1st retirement then miraculous return to hockey and winning the Stanley cup. The guys also discuss the new franchise the Seattle Kraken and if they like the name or not. The fellas then break down the current situation with the Arizona Coyotes followed by their Western Conference Preview. The boys wrap up with some golf talk and a farewell to our friend Eddie Shack.
Are. You. In?! We are THREE days away from hockey coming back and the boys could not be more excited! The wait is almost over! With the good news, there is also unsettling news in the form of John Chayka and his departure from the Arizona Coyotes. There seems to be a lot of mystery where that is concerned and the boys try to make some sense of it. Also big news this week - The Seattle Kraken unveiled their name, logo, and jerseys. What's a hit, what's a miss? Let the debates resume! And last but not least we once again have a great guest, Annie O'Donnell of the OD on Sports Podcast, for our Eastern Conference Qualifying Round previews. Get ready to dissect the Maple Leafs vs Blue Jackets - will John Tavares, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and company, overpower the defensive squad led by Nick Foligno, Cam Atkinson, and Seth Jones? Will the Montreal Canadiens led by Carey Price, Brendan Gallagher, and Tomas Tatar hold their own against Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and the rest of the Pittsburgh Penguins? Who is going to stop the hot train that is the New York Rangers? Will it be the Carolina Hurricanes? Will these 'bunch of jerks' be able to maintain the hot hands of Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad? And last we have the New York Islanders and Florida Panthers. Such a toss up? Does Bobrovsky play and if so, can he bring the Panthers out from the bottom against a team that has impressive young talent like Mathew Barzal, Anders Lee, and Noah Dobson? Enjoy this analytic, and very funny hour. We are excited that hockey is coming back and we hope you are too! This episode is dedicated to the life of Eddie Shack. Glue guy in and out. Clear the track, here comes Shack! We've got the legend that is Eddie Shack on the show this week and bring on some beauties to help us out with it. Before the theme song even finishes we dive into some serious music talk with the one and only Terry Ryan Sr. Eventually Chuck shows up and we talk about some hockey, particularly Milan Lucic and everyone being upset at him for doing what he's specifically paid money to do. Then we make way for 3 time All Star and FOUR TIME CUP CHAMP Eddie Shack. Eddie has just written a new book with the help of (friend of the show) Killer Ken Reid, Evanka's friend. Eddie wows us with some incredible stories of unjust penalties, Rocket Richard, and losing his license at 13. This one is incredible. There's a whole bunch more, including Mike & Chuck geeking out about jerseys once the room clears, but oh boy, you don't want to miss this week's 3MI brought to you by HeadCheckHealth.com Archive, shop, & more at 3MIPodcast.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/3mipodcast/message

Spoilers below on the top 5 fighters Cam fought, if you would rather find out on the podcast, don't scroll down... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * In no particular order... Behn Wilson.
