Leaving SinJust as Israel was commanded by God to march boldly out of Egypt… you have been told [and are being reminded today] to come out of sin. Sin is violations of God holy perfect commandments… but beyond actions and trespasses, sin is also a way of thinking and acting that has no positive future. It has no future because through sin you have become separated from God… and separated from the tree of life… cut off from the potential of entering eternal existence. So, you need to get back into a right relation to God… but that means you have to leave some things behind.

1. We worked again the testimony of the nature of saving faith according to the discussion in Hebrews 11.--2. The sinner shall only be deemed as pleasing by God, will overcome all the way to the end because of faith alone in Christ alone.--3. But looking at the testimony of the Hebrews Hall of Faith, one may be led to think that those believers caused their own faith and their endurance or their good report with God. NO, they did not---4. How then- They had faith and made it to the end because they FIXED their eyes on Jesus. And that to say-One overcomes only who keeps their eyes STAYED on Jesus, His person and work as COMPLETE and SUFFICIENT.--5. The believer has this cloud of witnesses-who went before them-but they are not there CHEERING them on in this race of the Christian faith. That was not the point. Dead people do not come back to cheer you in your race. Rather, they are a cloud of witnesses in so far as they teach or remind the believer of how they ran their race to the end.--6. But even with that-the believer is to look to Christ who is the cause -author and finisher- of the faith that endures to the end. --7. The believer is exhorted to consider the Christian life and struggle as a race. And that is Olympics language-which Paul was also fond of using. And to run this race one has to be mindful of weights or things that hinder their running and there are many. --8. But then, there is the SIN that easily entangles and we discussed what that is- --9. But why this section- Because the believer is going to experience trials of different kinds in their Christian walk and Christ and the cross has to be the proper and only legitimate way to look at them-if one is

You're no man's savior. Then Sin Entangles  You get so wrapped up and cant get untangled until your mess gets out. Let's talk Holy Scriptures   The Purpose of Marriage = ONE   This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh.  Both the man and his wife were naked, yet felt no shame. Genesis 2:24-25 5 But Jesus told them, “He wrote this command for you because of the hardness of your hearts. 6 But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female. 7 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother  8 and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Mark 10:5-8   The Basis of Separation=Reconciliation/Healing/Repentance   To those who are already married my command, or rather, the Lord’s command, is that the wife should not leave her husband. But if she is separated from him she should either remain unattached or else be reconciled to her husband. A husband is not, in similar circumstances, to divorce his wife.  1 Corinthians 7:10-11phillips If anyone is ill he should send for the Church elders. They should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Lord’s name. Believing prayer will save the sick man; the Lord will restore him and any sins that he has committed will be forgiven. You should get into the habit of admitting your sins to each other, and praying for each other, so that if sickness comes to you, you may be healed James 5:14-16   Entanglements (Adultery)      Exodus 20:14 MSG No Adultery. David/Bathsheba 2 Sam 11 We see/We take 3 So David sent someone to inquire about her, and he said, “Isn’t this Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam and wife of Uriah the Hethite?”  David sent messengers to get her, and when she came to him, he slept with her So David sends Uriah home from the frontline to try to get him to slept with his wife to pin the baby on him but Uriah didn't go home  We Coverup 16 When Joab was besieging the city, he put Uriah in the place where he knew the best enemy soldiers were. 17 Then the men of the city came out and attacked Joab, and some of the men from David’s soldiers fell in battle; Uriah the Hethite also died. We get over quickly 26 When Uriah’s wife heard that her husband, Uriah, had died, she mourned for him.[e] 27 When the time of mourning ended, David had her brought to his house. She became his wife and bore him a son. However, the Lord considered what David had done to be evil. Don't Judge Jada Cast the first stone  The religion scholars and Pharisees led in a woman who had been caught in an act of adultery. They stood her in plain sight of everyone and said, “Teacher, this woman was caught red-handed in the act of adultery. Moses, in the Law, gives orders to stone such persons. What do you say?” They were trying to trap him into saying something incriminating so they could bring charges against him. 6-8 Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger in the dirt. They kept at him, badgering him. He straightened up and said, “The sinless one among you, go first: Throw the stone.” Bending down again, he wrote some more in the dirt. 9-10 Hearing that, they walked away, one after another, beginning with the oldest. The woman was left alone. Jesus stood up and spoke to her. “Woman, where are they? Does no one condemn you?” 11 “No one, Master.” “Neither do I,” said Jesus. “Go on your way. From now on, don’t sin.” Digest  Where do you need to reconcile first to Christ and then to others? Marriage? What entangles you? If you are in a hard marriage seek out your spiritual leaders to help come alongside you for reconciliation stay unattached from relationship of the opposite sex. Don't put yourself in situations where you see and then want to take  Where have you had to cover up sin ? Do you move on quickly after you have sinned against the Lord forgetting to repent? Remember we have no right to judge when we all are deserving to be stoned right now but by the grace of God we can be free Chew  From now on don’t sin

In recent weeks, the current of the conversations have remained the same while the faces have changed. As God's children, there is constantly a tension between wanting to do the right thing and yet longing to do the wrong thing. And while tension makes most of us crawl under a table, this is the very thing that God uses to produce in us a work of art as He grows and stretches us and prepares to launch us into the next level. Stay in the tension, because as long as you do, it means you're in the fight against the enemy of your soul and we win every single time.

The Christian life is like a marathon race. Get rid of anything that is weighing you down. Our One Verse today is packed full of awesomeness. In one simple verse, we can see three key principles for our spiritual lives. First, we learn that we are surrounded by a “cloud of witnesses.” We don’t really know who these witnesses are, but one thing is certain. Heaven is cheering you on. Our One Verse also tells us that the Christian life is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes perseverance. It takes discipline. Stick with it. Finally, it we are running a race, we need to remove any weight that is holding us back. We know we need to get rid of sin in our lives. But what else is in your life that is holding you back? It might not be sin, but it is getting in the way of God’s best for your life? Let’s remove anything that hinders us from running our race well.
