Fáilte ar ais chuig eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo ar an 6ú lá de mí na Nollaig, liomsa Lauren Ní Loingsigh. I 1979 lean na bhfiosrúchán ar aghaidh faoin robáil armtha a bhí ag an AIB I mBaille an Teampaill. Chuaigh trí fhir armtha isteach agus thóg siad timpeall 5,000 punt. I 1988 bhí easpa leaba de thimpeall 320 in ospidéil Naomh Séamus. Bhí ach 400 leaba acu in ionad 720 a bhí siad ag iarradh. De bharr é sin bhí brú ar an Rannóg Timpistí agus Éigeandála. I 2014 d'éirigh Eoin Kelly agus John O'Brien as iománaíocht don chontae. D'imir an bheirt acu don chontae ar feadh 10 mbliain. Sin Vanilla Ice le Ice Ice Baby – an t-amhrán is mó ar an lá seo I 1990. Ag lean ar aghaidh le nuacht cheoil ar an lá seo I 1988 fuair Roy Orbison bás de thaom croí. Chuaigh a amhrán Pretty Woman chuig barr na cairteacha I 1964. Chomh maith leis sin bhí amhráin aige cosúil le Only The Lonely agus Crying. I 2013 dhíol giotár a bhí ag Bob Dylan. Sheinm Bhob Dylan an giotár seo I 1965 ag Newport Folk Festival. Dhíol sé I Nua Eabhrac do 965,000 dollar. Agus ar deireadh breithlá daoine cáiliúla ar an lá seo rugadh imreoir sacair Tim Cahill san Astráil I 1979 agus Rugadh Ulf Ekbert – amhránaí ón bhanna cheoil Ace of Base sa tSualainn I 1970 agus seo chuid de a amhrán. Beidh mé ar ais libh an tseachtain seo chugainn le heagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo.

Men's body image is a topic we've always wanted to discuss on the show. Two of our former guests, Cormac Ryan and Eoin Kelly, join Daniel for an hour long discussion on men's body image and our own personal stories. Cormac is a former Dublin Under-21 and Minor hurling goalkeeper who spoke very open and honestly on his own battle with food and body image on Ep 19. Eoin is a Wicklow Intermediate Championship winner and was involved with Wicklow at underage level. He told us his story on Ep 53. In September 2021, Cormac and a few friends will depart California and cycle 5,500 kilometres across America to New York City in aid of Bodywhys and Pieta House. You can donate here. Eoin Kelly (Motus Learning) joins us to talk about his own journey in GAA, from being on the Wicklow U21 team to not quite making the senior team. He then spoke about his relationship with sport currently and winning the Wicklow Intermediate Football Championship with Donard/Glenn GAA Club. Eoin speaks passionately about working with Motus Learning and why we should all look to improve our mental fitness, not just our physical fitness. It's time again to return to the Tipp FM All-Star Hurling Team of the Last 30 Years. Last week the number 13 jersey was being voted on and Eoin Kelly was the clear winner. This week our panel of Stephen Gleeson, JJ Kennedy and Ronan Quirke have been putting forward their nominees for the number 14 position. Eoin Kelly was JJ's choice last week and he says he's delighted to see him on the team.
Wooly and Eoin take a look back at his brilliant career in the company of Nicky English and Diarmuid O'Sullivan
Even in a bad game, in this extraordinary year hurling found a way to be exceptional, as Limerick dominated the All-Ireland champions Galway for 70 minutes, and still nearly got caught in injury time. Thus ends a 45-year wait for an All-Ireland title for Limerick, and they celebrated in style. We try and celebrate the year in review with two All-Ireland winners of our own, Eoin Kelly and Michael Duignan, and we discuss Limerick's winning blend of aggression and style which won the hardest-earned All-Ireland of them all. Ken smugly reminds us of his confident pre-match prediction of a crushing Limerick victory, Murph convinces himself that in fact Galway wuz robbed, and we hail the stunning co-commentary stylings of Anthony Daly. Plus Shane Dowling is having a party and everyone's invited, Ken ponders a trip to Limerick to hang out with his celebrity pal, and Limerick face down their demons and win anyway.
Wooly is joined by John Conlon, Dan Shanahan, Eoin Murphy, Anthony Cunningham, Joe Quaid and Eoin Kelly.
On this week's episode of The Throw-In, Will Slattery is joined by Eoin Kelly, Tomás Ó Sé, Michael Verney and Donnchadh Boyle to discuss all the weekend's action. Tipp legend Kelly weighs in on his county's championship demise, pointing to Michael Ryan's failure to fix his side's defensive issues as the key contributor to their Munster elimination. Last year's All-Ireland finalists Waterford joined Tipp in exiting the championship, and the lads think that it will be manager Derek McGrath's last hurrah with the team after an eventful few years. In Leinster, Kilkenny booked their place in the Leinster final with a comeback win over Wexford, and now face Galway once again. Kelly thinks that the Cats could be in a good position to shock the All-Ireland champions in Croke Park in a few weeks time. In football, the controversial scenes at the end of Meath vs Tyrone are discussed, as is the overall standard of refereeing after a weekend where officials came in for criticism. The lads also reflect on Dublin's comfortable win over Longford and Tomás Ó Sé explains why he doesn't like watching Carlow in action.
The Leinster Championship was first into the fray last week, and with four games across both provincial round-robins yesterday, Eoin has called it - he's a big fan of the new-look All-Ireland hurling championship. We have Michael Duignan and former Tipperary legend Eoin Kelly in studio to talk about Cork and Limerick's opening day wins, and Dublin's second spirited display in seven days, which ends with them leaving empty-handed again. Will Tipperary's hurling public turn on their team, are Cork the real deal, and are Clare destined to forever lose close games? All issues up for debate on today's show. Plus we remember the day Ken met Haddaway, Jonno Gibbs is put on the spot, and we lament Munster Rugby's inability to pass which is perhaps a more vexed problem than they're willing to admit.
With Tipperary and Kilkenny set to do battle once more in Sunday’s All Ireland hurling final, two legends of the game, Henry Shefflin and Eoin Kelly, joined INM GAA correspondents, Frank Roche, Conor McKeon and Michael Verney on Independent.ie’s Championship podcast, The Throw-In, as they looked ahead to Sunday's decider.
Tipperary and Kilkenny are set to do battle once more in Sunday’s All Ireland hurling final. Can Brian Cody’s team make it another three-in-a-row or will Tipp prove they have the mental fortitude to topple the reigning champions? Two legends of the game, Henry Shefflin and Eoin Kelly, join INM GAA correspondents, Frank Roche, Conor McKeon and Michael Verney as they look ahead to Sunday's decider. Plus, in betting, Leon Blanche from BoyleSports was on hand for a weekly charity bet with going for a draw at 8/1 and Seamus Callanan as man-of-the-match at 8/1 while the Throw-In panel also went for a draw but opted for Eoin Murphy to be man-of-the-match at a very generous 50-1.
It’s starting to get down to the nitty-gritty end of the Championship now and on this week’s Throw-In podcast, Tipperary legend, Eoin Kelly, joined INM GAA correspondents, Michael Verney, Conor McKeon, and Donnchadh Boyle, as they previewed Clare v Galway and Waterford v Wexford in the hurling quarter finals. How much would Davy Fitz’s health scare this week affect the Banner men? And how much pressure is on the Tribesmen and Joe Canning? Plus, can Waterford bounce back from their Munster final humiliation? In football, there’s two qualifiers with Clare footballers hoping to continue their dream season with a win over Roscommon, while can Tipperary pull off a shock over Derry? Also on the podcast, Martin Breheny and Roy Curtis go head-to-head on the question as to whether there’s too much tactics in hurling nowadays, while Leon Blanche from BoyleSports was on hand for some weekend betting including a recommended 13/2 charity treble of: Clare to beat Roscommon, Clare (hurling) to beat Galway, and Derry to beat Tipperary. New episodes of the Throw-In, Independent.ie's Championship podcast, in association with BoyleSports, available every Thursday.
“Massive performances are needed from Tipp’s half-forwards and midfield to get them over the line against Waterford,” said Tipp legend, Eoin Kelly, on this week’s Throw-In podcast, in association with BoyleSports. While Kelly acknowledged Waterford would make it a closer game than recent Munster final clashes between the teams, he still believed that now was the time for the Tipp players to push on for silverware, just as Kilkenny have done. For the hurling qualifiers with Cork v Wexford and Clare v Limerick, the Throw-In panel of Frank Roche, Donnchadh Boyle, Conor McKeon and Michael Verney discussed whether managerial positions would be on the line with defeats on Saturday. In football, David Brady previewed the Connacht football final tipping Roscommon to do the business over Galway while he also called on the Mayo players to lift their game against Fermanagh or else it was time for changes in the starting line-up. For this week’s €50 charity bet, BoyleSports Leon Blanche, opted for a treble of Tipp, Meath and Galway at 11/2 while The Throw-In team hoped to beat the bookie with their 11/2 double of Offaly and Clare.
