In this edition of The Huddle Breakdown, Alan and James dissect a polarizing Scottish Cup semi-final victory over St. Mirren, characterized by a dominant first-half "packing score" of 220 that devolved into a second-half "debacle" of tactical paralysis. The duo explores Celtic's alarming "hibernation" periods—highlighted by a staggering 34-minute stretch without a single shot—and questions if the squad is currently the "worst coached team in the league" despite their progression to a final against Neil Lennon's Dunfermline. As they look toward the post-split fixtures against Falkirk and Hibs, the discussion shifts to the desperate need for "moments of magic" from high-quality but fitness-compromised stars like Kieran Tierney and Kelechi Iheanacho to salvage the title race.Want to support the channel? - https://huddlebreakdown.comLike this video and want more content like it? Celtic needed extra-time to secure their place in the Scottish Cup Final, overcoming St. Mirren 6-2 at Hampden Park. Goals from Maeda and Ralston gave Celtic a 2-0 half-time lead but in keeping with the nature of this season, we allowed St. Mirren back into the game with a Mandron double levelling the game in added time. An astonishing four goal blitz inside six minutes in the first half of extra-time eventually put the tie to bed. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this edition of Extra Time, Martin and Alan analyse St. Mirren's radical tactical shift under Craig McLeish, moving from a traditional long-ball approach to a possession-oriented style that has significantly increased their successful passing metrics. The discussion highlights Celtic's struggle with tempo and the physical limitations of key players like Callum McGregor and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leading into the Scottish Cup semi-final. Alan also provides a deep dive into the "Speedboat League" data, projecting an incredibly tight title race where Rangers, Hearts, and Celtic are separated by fewer than two points in the latest performance projections.Want to support the channel? - https://huddlebreakdown.comLike this video and want more content like it? #celticfc #podcast #fanzineFormer Celtic striker Tommy Johnson joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne to chat about the title run in and if Martin O'Neill can deliver silverware? Tommy is backing his old Gaffer having won a treble under him and scoring the goal that won the league that season before the split v St. Mirren. Tommy signed for Celtic in March 1997 by the late great Tommy Burns from Aston Villa after sitting in the Celtic dressing room talking to Tommy about football. He was gutted when Fergus McCann sacked Tommy a few months later only to be reunited with him when he returned to the dugout with Kenny Dalglish after John Barnes was sacked. He enjoyed the good times when Celtic stopped rangers doing 10IAR and a treble winner under Martin O'Neill. He knows what it is like to be in the dressing room with O' Neill and he knows the frustrations of being sidelined at Celtic like so many first team regulars this season.Andrew will be in conversation with Tommy, Jackie McNamara, Simon Donnelly, Alan Thompson, Peter Grant and Joe Miller at the Celtic Supporters Festival in Rosie Maguires in Spain. In this episode of the Huddle Breakdown, James and Alan navigate a two-man operation to dissect Celtic's "objectively poor" performance against St. Mirren at Celtic Park. The duo critiques the team's pedestrian tempo and lack of creativity, questioning whether Chris Sutton's assessment of their title chances is overly pessimistic or a harsh reality. They dive deep into the data surrounding Captain Callum McGregor's visible regression in ball progression and tempo-setting, debating if the decline is biological age or a symptom of a broken system. Finally, they provide a robust, statistical defense of Benjamin Nygren, debunking the myth that he is "just a goal scorer" and making the case for him as the clear Player of the Year candidate.Want to support the channel? - https://huddlebreakdown.comLike this video and want more content like it? In this explosive episode of The Huddle Breakdown, we dissect the painful 3-1 League Cup Final defeat to St. Mirren, investigating whether Wilfried Nancy has already lost the buy-in of the Celtic squad. James and Alan expose a “mushroom clouding civil war” behind the scenes involving Paul Tisdale and legacy staff, arguing that “information warfare” is poisoning the new manager's tenure. We also analyze the disastrous tactical switch to man-marking at set pieces, the baffling number of positional changes at Hampden, and why the “renaissance” under Martin O'Neill may have just been a lucky streak that masked deep-rooted squad issues.
