LITURGY FOR THE MOMENT: Part 7 A LITURGY FOR THOSE BATTLING ANXIETY Prince of Peace, we come with restless hearts and racing thoughts. The weight of worry presses down, and we are consumed by what-ifs and worst-case scenarios. As the deer pants for streams of water so our souls thirst for You, the living God.You are the God who calms the storm, The Shepherd who leads us beside quiet waters. Deep calls to deep in the roar of Your waterfalls Let waves of grace break over me.Teach us to cast our cares upon You. When fear rises, remind us of your steadfast love. When we falter, anchor us in Your unshakable presence. Oh God our rock, meet us in the chaos and lead us into Your rest. Amen. Psalm 42:1-11 ESV “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival. Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me. By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. I say to God, my rock: “Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” As with a deadly wound in my bones, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me all the day long, “Where is your God?” Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” What the anxious need from themselves: • Look back • Look forward • Look around What the anxious need from those around them • Comfort • Care • Encouragement 2 Corinthians 13:11 ESV “Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.” 1 Corinthians 12:24-26 ESV “which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.” 1 Thessalonians 4:18 ESV “Therefore encourage one another with these words.” What the anxious need from God • Everything he has promised and all he has given!
In this homily, given Sunday, November 10th, 2024, Dcn. Josh Luttig invites us to give God everything, modeled after the widows in today's Mass readings. We do this primarily through the offertory at Mass, when we place our lives on the altar in Union with Christ, who offers himself to the Father on our behalf.

I remember the day when the Lord challenged me to serve Him. I was 15, on holiday on the South Coast of England, walking on the sea-front with some young Christians and I couldn't enter into the fun that they were having because God was speaking to me – and the devil was speaking to me. The devil was saying, ‘Don't listen, it's OK, things are fine. You're doing well – you got saved when you were 8, and you got baptised in water when you were 12, you started preaching at 13, that's enough,' and God was saying, ‘I want more.' God was not calling me to be a preacher or an evangelist at that time, God was asking me to give my whole life to Him. Simply to give everything to Him. 'All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God's great blessing was upon them all. There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need. 'For instance, there was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas (which means “Son of Encouragement”). He was from the tribe of Levi and came from the island of Cyprus. He sold a field he owned and brought the money to the apostles. 'But there was a certain man named Ananias who, with his wife, Sapphira, sold some property. He brought part of the money to the apostles, claiming it was the full amount. With his wife's consent, he kept the rest. 'Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren't lying to us but to God!” 'As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified. Then some young men got up, wrapped him in a sheet, and took him out and buried him. 'About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. Peter asked her, “Was this the price you and your husband received for your land?” “Yes,” she replied, “that was the price.” 'And Peter said, “How could the two of you even think of conspiring to test the Spirit of the Lord like this? The young men who buried your husband are just outside the door, and they will carry you out, too.” Instantly, she fell to the floor and died. When the young men came in and saw that she was dead, they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. Great fear gripped the entire church and everyone else who heard what had happened.' (Acts 4.32-5.11, NIV.)

Intimacy with God: Everything we do should flow from the overflow of our Savior, found in true, set-aside time with Him - scheduled, prioritized, but especially…yearned for! Do you have questions about your job? You're a human made by God…He will of course have the answer. Do you have questions about your marriage? God holds all the cards. Maybe it's how to improve as a provider, leader, father, or even how to move past a loss that hurts deeply. Running to the Father's arms is the only true solution. Amidst the pressures of life, it can be so hard to truly run to Jesus - and learn to stay there. It seems that there is always a new challenge, a wound we aren't fully healed from, or that somehow, we don't think we need Him as much…until we desperately do. Our guest today, Connor Jones, went through a deep struggle that taught him the value of secret time with God. When he contracted Lyme disease, and other infections set-in…God was truly all he had time for. Being in bed 24/7 for years brought forth priceless intimacy with our Savior that he is eternally grateful for. --------------------- Find Bible study video series at http://mimbiblestudy.com Help us to continue this vital ministry by partnering with us: http://maninthemirror.org/give Learn more about Man in the Mirror at http://maninthemirror.org
Fr. Pacer - We Owe God Everything by Saint Patrick Parish Homilies
The passage from this Sunday again presents to us a truth that proves difficult for us to understand and often to accept: that God truly is sovereign over all things and has providence over all that comes to pass. But this time, the Preacher goes into a little more depth than he has before, as to how we ought to think about and respond to our circumstances. How we ultimately approach adversity says a lot about how we trust the Lord.
The issue never really goes away: How much should you confess to your husband or wife about your past life? Or even your present life? Following a series dealing with the consequences of infidelity, we were bombarded with several variations of the same question. One person wrote, "I have confessed my sins to the Lord and truly experienced the joy of His forgiveness as I claimed His blessings, but I always thought I did not need to confess to my husband or to anyone. Am I wrong to believe that I'm completely forgiven of my sins even without having to confess this to my husband?"
Have you fully surrendered to God? Given Him everything? Surrender is risking an unknown future to the God who wants to set you free. Surrender is not about getting what we want from God, but getting God himself. Freedom is on the other side of giving our lives to God who loves you. Thanks HelloFresh! Dearest Listeners, I spent some time comparing the cost versus reward of writing out show notes each week. As someone who watches movie trailers before I fully commit to any film, I can understand the desire to have a hint of what's coming in each episode before you take time to listen. However, as someone whose very soul is sucked dry each time I attempt to write a captivating script that gives you details you could easily find by checking out each guest's social media and/or website, I have determined the cost is greater than the reward. This week I sat down with Claudia Govoni, and you can check her out using the links below. If it wasn't worth listening to we wouldn't be releasing it, so go listen and let us know what you think. We value your feedback and we pray this episode is as much a gift to you listening as it was for us recording it! WHATS WITCHCRAFT HITTING YOU WITH:Distractions, Basilisk, but God is using the enemies of your soul to push you higher! If you were on the bridge in my vision from last week, then as of THIS past SUNDAY Jesus has stepped in between you and the enemies of your soul to protect you for what they have entered into because of disobedience. So your storms are clearing and theirs have just begun for not listening or for only listening to spirits they refused to get free from (i.e.- RELIGION/ JEZEBEL, WITCHCRAFT) all the while they were getting further and further behind spiritually. Although you are tired warrior- NOW is not the time to lose focus as the enemy is trying to bring back weaknesses you have struggled with long ago, just in a different form- in hopes to cause you to stumble and lose sight of where God is taking you. DON'T LOSE YOUR FOCUS! NO MATTER WHAT! AND DON'T YOU ALLOW ANYONE to disrupt your time with God! If your warfare has shifted that means you have come all the way across your Jordan and are entering your new land. Which proves the word for C2 to be fitting for the obedient in that God told us that our C2 this year would be “SMOOTH AS BUTTA!” MOVIE I JUST SAW: GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED! Where God was raising up a bunch of HIGHLY SKILLED/GIFTED (what the movie called AMATURES) in golf. The story is about a young man (20 something) who was HIGHLY GIFTED by God to play golf. But he was always told he wasn't good enough, or smart enough, or of the right social status in order to play with the TITANS (pro Golfers). But because of the good men/women who saw his gift this young man went on to beat ALL the pro players on the first U.S. OPEN in America's history. Which changed history! Check out the trailer- it's a great MOVIE/TRUE STORY! DON'T YOU EVER LET ANY ARROGANT INDIVIDUAL LIMIT YOU! ESPEICIALLY THE SPIRIT OF MYSOGONY!Support the show

Tiffany Tolliver is the founder and CEO of The EmmaRose Agency®, based in Washington, D.C. Tiffany has a deep passion for helping women of color see their true value and not compromising the true vision they have for themselves while scaling their brands to 6 & 7 figures. She believes that revenue is just a resource to help others in need and that by putting your brand in a category of one, through strategic branding - you can serve your community WITH LESS stress knowing that your digital presence is working for (and not against) you! Tiffany believes that the key to creating an eye-catching and intentional brand is recognizing that your company cannot flourish solely based on your logo; there must be an experience cultivated that organically taps into the pain points of your target audience - ushering them into a digital home created solely with them top of mind. Through her dynamic designs and out of the box messaging and sales strategies, Tiffany is creating her own lane in graphic and web design. With her mission rooted in income-generating service offerings, she has worked with brands in creating unique and innovative websites that have allowed her clients to see $350k+ launches. Showing up is serving and Tiffany commits herself to being present and future minded in order to help her client realize their true greatness and build brands that stand the test of time and create bigger profit. Here's what we covered on the episode: How Tiffany Used Her Talents to Create a Business Tiffany used to work as a communication director at a hair salon, and after yielding 10 - 15k from a Black Friday sale based on their email list and in salon sales, she realized she was doing something right and had a gift given by God Everything in Tiffany's life aligned to where she was able to quit the salon but, at the time, had no clients or income In the beginning, Tiffany was only offering logos and got her first client through her then mentor, whose husband was a chef and needed a logo and media kit The Emma Rose Agency, Tiffany's company name, is a combination of middle names Tiffany and her daughter both got from their great grandmothers Tiffany shares that in the beginning, she started saying she could do things, like creating websites, before she even knew how and would teach herself - she still does this today but with more confidence How Tiffany grew very quickly because she realized the gap she wanted to fill, which is helping women of color stand out online so they can fulfill their passions and help the people they want to We talk about being overlooked in the design industry based on experience, and Tiffany shares that she is thoughtfully transparent with clients if it is her first time doing something but works her hardest to get the client what they want One of Tiffany's goals was to be sought out for her aesthetic while creating a unique design that fits each unique client's style At the end of 2022, Tiffany had a mental breakdown due to doing too much in her business and realized she needed to pay more attention to her greater vision Now she revisits her greater vision every week to keep it top of mind so she can focus on the things in her business that truly align with it and says that defining her core values has also helped a lot when she's questioning anything in her business Tiffany is thankful for her breakdown because she realized her business wasn't working for her, it was working against her, and it led her to her vision Using the Marketing Ecosystem for Branding + Marketing Tips The clients Tiffany serves are established business owners who have a professional service-based brand - they are tired of how they look online and how they are running their business and want to build a personal brand Even in the beginning, Tiffany understood that strategy needed to come before the design Tiffany prefers to work with her clients long-term in their rebranding process because one thing she's tired of in the industry is people having to hand their brand off to multiple people and having it be inconsistent The way Tiffany is situating her agency to grow is by not only helping with strategy but also developing and executing the vision for the brand through marketing and branding Tiffany explains how she looks at the bigger picture for clients because when you look at their marketing ecosystem, it's not just the website, so in her proposal process, she outlines what a partnership service (retainer) would look like How having a mindset of collaboration is important to Tiffany because her clients have teams that she will be working with Tiffany shares some marketing trends such as developing a community, looking at the marketing ecosystem as a whole, and making sure you have consistent evergreen content and not relying solely on social media When developing a personal brand from a professional brand, Tiffany says it's important to establish a clear and authentic perspective first, then decide if you want the two brands to complement each other or be different For strategy and design, Tiffany likes to identify what unique story her clients are telling and then create a focus plan, 6 months at a time, looking at what she can do and what the client needs to do to make the partnership and brand work Tiffany realized during her breakdown that she was putting the profit of her business over her purpose and was carrying herself differently because of it, which was not aligned with who she truly is The people you surround yourself with are important because they can distract you from your passion and purpose if you aren't careful There is no shame in taking a break to recover from burnout, but you don't want to repeat those same patterns Connect with Tiffany on Instagram Links mentioned: The Emma Rose Agency Connect with Tiffany on Instagram Like what you heard? 11.27.22 | " Give God Everything You Have Left" | Evangelist Clark Copeland by The Rock Church of Fort Myers
In Matthew chapter 13 Jesus gives us the inside scoop on some monumental news: “THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS HERE!” OK… So what does that mean? Well, Jesus thought the best way to explain it was through a series of stories, or parables, as they are sometimes called. His stories tell us that the Kingdom of God is a revolution that He, Himself, brought to earth. This revolution is not something political or military-driven. Instead, it is a revolution to overthrow all evil and bring earth and heaven back into harmony. Big stuff! And He is inviting us to be part of it. “WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD!" This message, titled Everything Sad is Coming Untrue was preached on Sunday, October 2nd by Matthew RogersFor more information about First Christian Church, click here.
In this talk, Rev Lee discusses the concept. Humans are individualizations of Infinite Consciousness. It is because the Universal Creative Principle is always around us and within us that our thought is creative.
The Power of God's Will - 40 Days of God's Promises book available on Amazon #FromTheVault Today we are looking at a NT verse from the book of Matthew, chapter 19 and verse 26. I will quote the NLT first, and it says, “With God everything is possible.” Huge promise here. Huge. Two things to note right off the bat: #1 - what's the verb in this sentence? IS - That's present tense, folks. So right now, RIGHT NOW, with God everything IS possible. IS. This is a present tense promise. #2 - God is not a liar. This is really important to remind ourselves of, like, all the time. Every day. And you and I need to say this out loud. God is not a liar. Hey, devil, guess what? Lemme just remind you of this one thing, satan… God is not a liar. Hey, that fear that is creeping in? Speak to that fear and tell it this absolute, immovable, solid like a mountain sized boulder truth: God is not a liar. Okay, so let's think about your life right now. Do you have a health issue? Do you have a financial issue? Do you have relationship issues? Do you have problems at work? Is your extended family in a mess or in duress? Does your life look totally unlike you and your spouse or your friends thought it was gonna look like right now? Let me just read once more the words of Jesus found here in Matthew 19:26 - With God everything is possible. If it's your health, it's possible with Him. Your job your career - possible with Him. Your relationships - possible with God. But remember, this verse covers over every single thing. Don't let your ideas about life get in the way of living the life God has laid out before you. We do it all the time - and if we just keep doing it, what impossibility are we going to miss out on? He brings dead things to life all the time but we may be missing that in our own lives because we have failed to remind ourselves that the God of the impossible is our God. This verse is for your present tense life, my friend. And God? He does not lie to us.
God has given everything in His Son, Jesus Christ. So we are called to give everything back to Him as living sacrifices. Thus, Paul calls believers to give God their bodies, minds, and wills in order to bring glory to His name.

We've all heard the statement "If there is no God, everything is permissible." Recently, Warren and I came across a reverse formulation, that "if there is a God, everything is permissible." In this video, we discuss this formulation and discuss its merits and potential problems as well. This line of thinking running in line of that of Hannah Arendt, Slavok Zizek and Jaques Lacan.I hope you enjoy.--------------------------To check out more about my content feel free to go to my YouTube Channel Apologetics for All to access clips and extra discussions

Surrender is not giving God *something* it's giving God EVERYTHING! Jesus did not come to earth to prove that he was right, he came to make an eternal difference. Time and time again, Jesus proved that it's not about what you declare, it's what you demonstrate that really matters to the heart of God. What does that look like in the fruit of the Spirit? Pastor Monte takes us through the story of the woman who poured out everything she had at the feet of Jesus -- literally! -- in a posture of complete surrender and worship. How did Jesus respond? How did the religious scholars respond? Don't miss the word that God has for YOU today! www.meadows.church
Psalm 130:1-8 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD; 2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. 3 If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. 5 I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. 6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. 7 Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. 8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

This day last year, 1/30/20, in my 7th month of pregnancy, I walked into a drs appointment SO excited to see our girl. I was practically giddy in the drs office and couldn't wait to send my husband pictures and videos of our daughter. Instead, I had to call him and tell him that our sweet girl was with with Jesus. Even though she was still in my body. Talk about psychological torment. The weeks that followed were rough. I was trying to wrap my head around everything that had happened. One minute I was creating a birth plan, the next I'm lucky to be alive and on birth control bc if I got pregnant again I could die. Um, what? How was this my life? I had so much invested in the “next chapter” of our lives and it was literally HERE. Until it wasn't. I was confused. We were broken. But the one thing I did *intentionally* was try to give God EVERYTHING. Not just the things I understood or felt comfortable giving Him. Did I want to know the reasons? Yes. Was I tempted to go into dark, dark spirals of depression and disappointment because of all I had lost? Yes. But I knew God could only trade the ashes for beauty if they were in His hands. As long as I was holding onto my pain He couldn't turn it into purpose. I don't know why bad things happen. But I do know I've walked through them with God and solo and every single time I've invited Him into the pain rather than blaming Him for it, I have experienced life on a level I could literally NEVER have imagined. One year to the day later I sit here 35 weeks pregnant with the most incredible gift in my belly. My marriage stronger than ever. My faith stronger than ever. And to think I'd have none of this had I not walked through that. What a difference one year makes.

Archbishop Lucas reflects on gratitude and the Christian's vocation to stewardship: "The challenge of the Scriptures and of our Catholic faith is to begin with a stance of recognizing our dependence on God, of giving thanks and then making an offering to him without a lot of fanfare. We say to him in our own minds, and practically in our checkbooks, or by whatever means we have, '“This significant portion of what I have received I am dedicating to you and to your purposes, and you will help me see how best to make use of it.'" In this episode: Reflecting on the very successful Ignite the Faith capital campaign (0:00 - 4:10) The connection between thankfulness and stewardship (4:15 - 6:00) The use of goods (6:35 - 12:55) Practical acknowledgement of God's presence (14:00 - 18:00)
