On today's Political Breakfast, strategists Brian Robinson and Tharon Johnson and host Lisa Rayam reflect on the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The controversial debater and podcast host was fatally shot Wednesday at Utah Valley University. Thousands showed up to Kirk's first fall 2025 college event, which was set to kick-off a national tour. Kirk is credited with mobilizing young Republicans to the polls. He made stops in Georgia in the past, including at UGA last October. Georgia lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are condemning the violence. Plus, this week Atlanta is honoring a 21-year veteran DeKalb County firefighter, who died battling a commercial fire in Lithonia. Preston Fant was trapped after trying to rescue another firefighter, as they worked to put out flames in a film studio warehouse.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On today's Political Breakfast, host Lisa Rayam broadcasts live with Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson and Republican strategist Brian Robinson to give the rundown on Raffensperger. The Secretary of State has not officially announced a campaign for the Georgia Governor's race in 2026, and is also rumored to be exploring a run for U.S. Senate. But the Republican is not universally supported within the Georgia GOP. In June of 2025, GOP convention delegates passed a resolution to prevent him from qualifying as a Republican candidate, even though its legal legitimacy has been questioned. Raffensperger also faced opposition from President Donald Trump, but survived those political attacks. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Steiny & Guru are concerned, but not OUT on the prospect of Christian McCaffrey playing a heavy workload in 2025. Plus, isn't that why they made the trade for Brian Robinson Jr.? In case this happened!
The AJC's Patricia Murphy and Greg Bluestein are joined by Republican strategist Brian Robinson and Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson to break down the fast-developing 2026 races. On the Senate side, they weigh the rise of Congressman Mike Collins, the challenge from Derek Dooley, and the role of Buddy Carter in the Republican primary. Then the panel shifts to the governor's race, where Democrats face a crowded and unsettled field that could include Keisha Lance Bottoms, Jason Estevez, Michael Thurmond, and even former Lt. Gov. Jeff Duncan. Have a question or comment for the show? Call or text the 24-hour Politically Georgia Podcast Hotline at 770-810-5297. NFL Cutdown Day happened on Tuesday, and...it was a little underwhelming? At least in terms of big names changing teams, Cutdown Day didn't really deliver. But we *did* get some pretty big roster news elsewhere, with players who did and didn't wind up going on PUP lists and IR lists. We'll handle that material, we'll read Brian Robinson's *new* Almanac profile, and then we'll have a look at the handicapping market for the NFL in 2025. What team win totals do we like and not like, who do we like to lead the major stat categories, are there player props we like, etc. Fun show! Guest: Chris Raybon from The Action Network. Fantasy Football Draft Week kicks off with Jeff Mans reviewing the entire list of NFL players who were cut, put on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, and placed on injured reserve. He breaks down the winners and losers of some notable training camp and roster battles here as well. He reacts to the Terry McLaurin singing, the Brian Robinson trade, Joe Mixon being put on IR, and the return of Amari Cooper to the Raiders. Mans breaks down how he is drafting the Houston, Cleveland, and Washington backfields and gives some final thoughts on the latest ADP movement across fantasy football. Jeff also reveals his most and least drafted players so far this season. Then it is time for the annual look at some contract year players who are free agents in 2026 and thus are playing with a lot of incentive this season. Mans has his final draft tips this week, as we head into the final big week of fantasy football drafts before the start of the 2025 NFL season. The San Francisco 49ers have officially revealed their final 53-man roster for the 2025 NFL season, and there are plenty of surprises, tough cuts, and big roster questions heading into Week 1. Quarterbacks Brock Purdy and Mac Jones lead the offense, while the backfield is stacked with Christian McCaffrey, Isaac Guerendo, Jordan James, and Brian Robinson. But the roster news doesn't come without controversy. The wide receiver room is dangerously thin, with just Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall fully healthy after Brandon Aiyuk landed on the PUP list and Jacob Cowing is expected to go on IR. Veterans like Russell Gage, Chosen Anderson, DeMarcus Robinson, and Jeff Wilson Jr. were among the most notable roster cuts, leaving serious depth concerns. Could the 49ers look to free agents like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Hunter Renfrow, or Robert Woods to fill the void?On defense, the Niners kept a loaded group on the defensive line with Nick Bosa, Bryce Huff, Mykel Williams, Alfred Collins, Yetur Gross-Matos, and more, but surprise cuts like Trevis Gipson raised eyebrows. At linebacker, Fred Warner anchors the core with Dee Winters and Nick Martin, while the secondary is led by Deommodore Lenoir, Ji'Ayir Brown, and Jason Pinnock. We'll break down every position group, the most shocking roster moves, the biggest winners and losers from cut day, and which free agent targets could be brought in to bolster depth before Week 1. Can the 49ers overcome injuries and suspensions to remain a Super Bowl contender in 2025?This is your full 49ers 53-man roster reaction and breakdown — let's dive in!

On this week's Political Breakfast, the gang taps into rumors of former Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, who recently converted to the Democratic Party, running for Georgia Governor. The 2026 race is crowded and competitive on both sides of the aisle. Plus, Gabe Sterling, one of the faces of Georgia's Secretary of State's office, is stepping down from his position as Chief Operating Officer. Does he have his eyes set on somewhere else? Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson, Republican strategist Brian Robinson, and host Lisa Rayam also commemorate the 20-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which drove and estimated 100 thousand evacuees to Georgia. Many stayed and continued to live in metro Atlanta. The city also honored the 62nd anniversary of the March on Washington over the weekend. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The San Francisco 49ers are cutting down to their final 53-man roster for the 2025 NFL season, and big questions remain. Which wide receivers will step up with Brandon Aiyuk on PUP and DeMarcus Robinson suspended? Will rookie Sebastian Valdez or a surprise veteran sneak onto the defensive line? Can Nick Zakelj beat out Drew Moss for a crucial offensive line spot? And how many linebackers will the Niners keep between Curtis Robinson, Luke Gifford, and Chazz Surratt? We break down every position battle and make our full 49ers 53-man roster predictions, including practice squad candidates, surprise cuts, and depth chart sleepers. From Brock Purdy and Mac Jones at quarterback, Christian McCaffrey's RB room with Brian Robinson, Isaac Guerendo, and Jordan James, to a new-look WR group led by Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall, Jordan Watkins, Russell Gage, and Skyy Moore — we cover it all.On defense, Nick Bosa anchors a loaded D-line with Alfred Collins, Bryce Huff, Mykel Williams, and more, while Fred Warner leads the linebackers alongside Dee Winters and rising talent Tatum Bethune. In the secondary, battles heat up as Darrell Luter Jr. and Siran Neal fight for the last cornerback spot, with Ji'Ayir Brown, Jason Pinnock, and Richie Grant securing safety depth. This video reveals the 49ers' potential 2025 depth chart, who's headed to the practice squad, and the biggest surprises before Week 1 kickoff.

Don't Draft These Players! Okay, well, if you're in a very deep league, or you're thinking about dynasty, maybe you can draft these players. But the Super-Deep Sleeper list isn't typically meant for standard rosters, or 12-team leagues. Instead, our annual list of deep names is intended to read tea leaves: where might these younger players fit as the NFL season progresses? We'll do our best to come up with a fun list of kids you can track and potentially add for fantasy football in 2025. Also: updated ranks on Terry McLaurin, Brian Robinson, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Najee Harris & more! Guest: Jake Ciely of The Athletic. Sometimes unsexy is good! On today's podcast, we'll discuss the merits of drafting *safe* players. If your draft strategies sometimes involve selecting risky players in early rounds -- and they should! -- it can make sense to find some high-floor players in the early/middle rounds who can present a smoother ride. We'll select one safe player per round, and discuss! Also: Anthony Richardson gets benched and embarrasses his *2024* ranks, Brian Robinson will no longer be a Commander, and we'll read a DeVonta Smith Almanac profile. Guest: Scott Pianowski of Yahoo! Brian Robinson trade rumors are heating up, Jacory Croskey-Merritt is generating serious camp buzz, Austin Ekeler still looks like the passing-down guy, and Chris Rodriguez is lurking as a key role player. Jeff tells you exactly how he's handling each of them in drafts, which player has league-winning upside, and which ones he's letting someone else take. Get Jeff's content: FTN Fantasy

Rookies usually get drafted too high for fantasy football. But there are absolutely exceptions to this rule. *A few* 2025 rookies will probably make a big splash and potential swing leagues. Can we identify them? Well, maybe *we* can't, but often Matt Waldman can. We'll dig into the big rookie names who are getting drafted to be fantasy starters, and the potential values among rookies who are going in later rounds. Plus we'll do a snarkbag, a great listener mixtape, and update Terry McLaurin and Brian Robinson. Guest: Matt Waldman of FootballGuys.com and the Rookie Scouting Portfolio.
