Kimberly Blake has two published books, “The Strength in The Life of An Ex-Military Wife”, and “Adored Sistahs and Young Sistah Power Book” which is a devotional for young ladies and older women alike that uplifts, and empowers young ladies, and women all over the world. Having experienced a variety of life's lessons in womanhood, and motherhood of two thriving young adults, she has found her purpose in paying it forward. Through her writing, inspiring, and sharing her walk with Christ, which is the best relationship she's ever had, her goal is to simply show that we can remind ourselves of our own worth, love on each other genuinely and be phenomenal without competition because God made room for each one of us. Through her organization, Kim reaches the masses with truth, information, and the love she's found within herself. She has not only discovered how self-love impacts and opens so many doors regarding the treatment of others and treatments received, but self-stewardship over the gifts, talents, and heart that God created in her from the very beginning. She also has products reflecting her personally created logo on to dwell in the lives of our Sistahs to remind us of the unity that exits if we just tap into it. We are stronger together than alone. Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/jennifermonetcowley/ BIOGRAPHY Jennifer Monet Cowley has been painting and drawing since the age of 5. Her talent was recognized at an early age through her artwork collected by her parents and grandparents. In high school, she studied fashion design and commercial art. Upon entering college, she focused on architectural design, but her love for art prevailed. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art in Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas. Jennifer works in various mediums: colored pencils, pastels, gouache, acrylic, watercolors, and collage. Jennifer also designs and paints wearable art. In addition to being an artist, she is a curator as well. While employed as Curator at Dallas' African-American Museum at Fair Park, Jennifer curated several groundbreaking art exhibitions. Sammetria Goodson, an attorney and advocate for the arts, has remarked that Jennifer's curating concepts are groundbreaking and rival some of the best in the world. Overall, Jennifer is an artist whose versatility and skills empower her to create distinctive works and concepts that give her a unique style and voice that is all her own. ARTIST STATEMENT Jennifer's artwork is full of color and symbolism. She feels that color and composition play a very important role in expressing the meaning of a particular piece. She also feels that craftsmanship is key in the presentation of her artwork. Jennifer works to ensure that lively color and craftsmanship show in each of her pieces so that each piece of art has special appeal to the viewer. A majority of the imagery that Jennifer depicts in her works of art focuses primary on women, black women in particular dealing with objectification, being devalued, joy, women's rights among other things. Jennifer also enjoys historical story telling through her art. About Anna Ocansey-Jimenez: Anna Ocansey-Jimenez is a C-level accounting and finance professional and entrepreneur with nearly 30 years' experience transforming the operations of both non-profit organizations and large global brands.   An expert in streamlining operations and creating transparency in reporting, Anna has led organizations through transition and growth in multiple executive roles. Most recently, she served as Chief Accounting Officer at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, where she helped the institution navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that, she served as VP of Finance for the Tenement Museum, also in New York. Previous employers included IBM, Fox News, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.    In 2018, along with friend and business partner Oneida Franco, Anna co-founded The Whole Kitchen, Inc. (TWK) — a company that creates meaningful experiences around a shared appreciation for food, sustainability, culture, and introspection. On October 1, 2021, National Coffee Day, the pair launched Casa Dos Chicas Café (CDCC), a brand of TWK. CDCC offers organic, single-origin, specialty coffees sourced mainly from Latin America. The company's goal and mission are to celebrate Latin American heritage whilepromoting equitable, sustainable practices along the entire coffee supply chain.   Anna and her twin brother were born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Mexican parents. Shortly afterward, the family relocated to Ligonier, Indiana, where Anna spent her childhood. The first in her family to attend and graduate from a university, Anna completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oral Roberts University School of Business in 1997. She later enrolled in the Becker CPA study course and passed all four parts of the New York State Certified Public Accounting exam.   Anna is married to Christopher Ocansey, a Ghanaian American, and they have three children together: Joshua, Cristiana, and Olivia.  About Oneida Franco: A multi-faceted entrepreneur and finance expert, Oneida Franco blends 25+ years of finance and accounting experience and education with a deep understanding of the needs of small-to-midsize business owners. After two decades in the corporate and non-profit worlds, Oneida's entrepreneurship journey began in 2017 when she found herself helping a growing number of friends and acquaintances with their finance questions. Recognizing a lack of practical guidance and tools, Oneida launched Franco  Blueprint (FB)  — an accounting and business management firm with the mission to up-level the businesses of artists, content creators and entrepreneurs. Often, individuals with brilliant ideas are looking to start their business and diversify themselves relying on different tools to get their business up and running as well as trying to understand the finance and operational side. That's where Oneida saw Franco Blueprint as the solution - a one-stop service and support system for business owners tuned into the frequency of creation and abundance. Shortly afterward, Oneida's partner Rick Diaz came on board as CFO, bringing an additional 25+ years of experience and expanding FB's roster to include financial real estate development and construction accounting. In 2018, Oneida and business partner Anna Ocansey co-founded The Whole Kitchen, Inc. (TWK) — a business that creates meaningful experiences around a shared appreciation for food, sustainability, culture, and introspection. The company's goal and mission are to celebrate Latin American heritage while promoting equitable, sustainable practices along the entire coffee supply chain. Born and raised in New York with Dominican roots, Oneida puts family at the center of things and stays closely connected to her heritage. Along with her family, she founded Fundación Generaciones Sanas (FUNGESA), a non-profit organization committed to providing youth with ongoing educational opportunities and sustainability programs. Recent FUNGESA projects include the reopening of the library at Antonio L. Batista School in Oneida's family hometown of Sabana del Puerto, Bonao. Oneida is the second oldest of five siblings and mother to 19-year-old Nina, who is almost off to college. The pair launched Casa Dos Chicas Café (CDCC), a brand of TWK, in October 2021. CDCC offers organic, single-origin, specialty coffees sourced mainly from Latin America. "This is merely one of several steps in the district's comprehensive plan to better ensure student and staff safety."达拉斯学区在公告中表示:“我们承认,仅仅凭透明或网状背包并不能消除安全隐患,这只是学区全面安全计划中的措施之一,目的是更好地确保学生和教职员工的安全。”The district has already purchased the clear bags, and is set to distribute them before the start of the school year, the statement said.声明称,达拉斯学区已经购买了透明书包,并计划在新学年开始前分发给学生。The decision was made based on feedback from students and parents, as well as recommendations from a safety task force at the district, the district said.该学区表示,这一决定是根据学生和家长的反馈以及学区安全工作组的建议做出的。The backpack requirements in Dallas follow fresh scrutiny of safety measures after a gunman killed 19 children and two teachers inside Robb Elementary in Uvalde on May 24, the second-deadliest shooting at a K-12 school in the US.5月24日,一名持枪歹徒在乌瓦尔德的罗布小学杀害了19名儿童和两名教师,这是美国基础教育学校发生的第二起大规模枪击案。此后,达拉斯学区加强安全审查措施,要求学生携带透明背包。The Dallas school district isn't the only one in Texas stepping up security measures.达拉斯学区并不是得州唯一一个加强安全措施的学区。Last week, a school district in Seguin, near San Antonio, said it would move to a clear backpack policy for middle and high school students in the new school year.上周,圣安东尼奥附近塞金学区表示,将在新学年实施初高中学生必须携带透明背包的规定。A school district in Greenville, about 50 miles northeast of Dallas, announced in early June a shift to clear backpacks and that it would implement additional security measures for the upcoming year, which include keeping classroom doors locked at all times and limiting access points into its schools.位于达拉斯东北约50英里的格林维尔学区6月初宣布,将规定学生携带透明背包,并将在来年实施更多安全措施,包括始终锁住教室门,限制进入学校入口等。Clear backpack mandates aren't new to US campuses.透明背包的规定对美国校园来说并不新鲜。After the 2018 shooting that claimed the lives of 14 students and three adults at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, students were required to carry clear backpacks when they returned to school after spring break.2018年,佛罗里达州帕克兰的马乔里·斯通曼·道格拉斯高中发生枪击案,造成14名学生和3名成年人死亡。此后,学生们在春假后返回学校时被要求携带透明的背包。Several Parkland students criticized the policy as being an ineffective security measure and expressed privacy concerns over the rules. The requirement was scrapped a few months later.一些帕克兰的学生批评这项政策是一项无效的安全措施,并担心这些规则可能侵犯隐私。几个月后,该规定被取消。In Texas, several of the districts have specified that students will be able to carry small non-transparent pouches in their backpacks to hold personal items like money and hygiene products.得州一些学区已经规定,学生可以在背包中携带小的不透明袋子,以存放现金和卫生用品等个人物品。School shootings in the US reached a 20-year high in 2021, with 93 school shootings reported according to federal data cited in a report by the National Center for Education Statistics.美国国家教育统计中心在一份报告中引用联邦数据显示,2021年美国发生93起校园枪击案,为20年来的最高水平。Some students have to pass through metal detectors when they get to school every morning, and many around the nation undergo active-shooter training.一些学生每天早上上学时必须通过金属探测器,全美各地许多学生都接受了主动射击训练。And after the Parkland shooting, retailers reported a surge in sales of bulletproof backpacks. Guest: Jana Bell Jana Bell is energetic, intensely passionate for the Lord's presence, simply put, she is a true worshipper!   Jana toured internationally as an alto with Kirk Franklin from the Fall of 1998 to Winter of 2007. While traveling, the Lord continued to develop and prepare her for the call and anointing that He has placed on her life.   Jana later became a background vocalist for several other Contemporary Christian artists and ministries including Martha Munizzi and Freddy Rodriguez. She also spent a little time in early 2010 traveling as a wardrobe assistant for the overseas Year of the Gentleman Tour.   Jana has done studio work for several artist and companies such as Anthony Evans, Natalie Grant, Jeremy Camp, Joy Hill, Trinitee 5:7, Kirk Franklin, Arlington Jones, Ambassadors of Christ, Men of Standard, SuperNova Remnant, Churches Fried Chicken and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.   While traveling and performing, she continued to pursue her college degree through correspondence and night classes. In the summer of 2003, she received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Her love for the arts and learning would not allow her to stop with just one degree. In 2015, she received her Masters of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fl.     Jana knew the Lord was calling her for more and began to pray that God would lead her to people that would disciple, administrate and labor with her in ministry. God honoring his word in Matthew 21:22 which says, And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive, put four individuals on her heart. Understanding that vision is birthed out of prayer, Jana asked these kingdom citizens to commit to a prayer conference call to gain direction from the Lord.  Again, God being true to His word in Ephesians 3:20 that states, (God) is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, this prayer call became a staple weekly session that has grown to committed prayer warriors around the United States.   About Love Ministries: Love Ministries About Host, Karla Nivens: After graduating from Texas Tech University, Karla earned her teaching certificate and began her career as an elementary music teacher in the Dallas Independent School District. On this weeks episode I sit down with the owners of Breathe Meditation and Wellness. Breathe was created to help ease the stresses of modern life and offer a place for healing and true transformation. We believe everyone deserves a happy and healthy life and we are dedicated to helping make this happen one life at a time.Breathe co-founder, Chelsey Charbeneau discovered her life purpose—helping people become happier and healthier—through her own wellness journey which began over 15 years ago in Los Angeles. She was your typical type "A" type personality climbing the corporate ladder while working for an investment firm. As time went on, the effects of stress and neglect left her with a laundry list of diseases and ailments until she began to practice meditation and yoga which opened her eyes to the extensive therapeutic benefits of these ancient practices.Chelsey is a meditation teacher, certified yoga therapist with The International Association of Yoga Therapists as well as an experienced registered yoga teacher and continuing education provider with the national Yoga Alliance. She is also certified in Thai yoga massage therapy, Mindful Self-Compassion and is trained in prenatal yoga. Chelsey has offered her healing services at a physical rehabilitation center in Beverly Hills, with doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Methodist Hospital, Medical City, and The Brain Performance Institute. In 2014 she opened Just B, a meditation studio in Santa Monica, California and then relocated to Dallas in 2016, where she opened a mindfulness meditation studio serving as their Chief Mindfulness Officer. Upon her return Chelsey has created and implemented meditation curriculum for Dallas Independent School District, Adaptive Training Foundation, Unique Footprints and others. She has also launched the first 200-hour meditation teacher training in this region and continues her meditation studies with renowned experts such as Pema Chodron and Dr. Kristin Neff. Her work has been circulated globally and she continues to lead teacher trainings, retreats, workshops, and seminars nationwide. Chelsey's teachings have impacted lives from children to seniors, homeless to celebrities, trauma victims to veterans. With a deep commitment to science-driven health, her goal is always to provide an experience that is nurturing, personal, and safe.Born and raised in New York, Breathe co-founder Jenn Moulaison spent more than two decades in the luxury fashion industry, managing finance and operations for Chanel, Inc. and, most recently, Dallas-based retailer Forty Five Ten. Her dedicated fitness routine brought some measure of balance to the industry's high stress level and unrelenting pace, but ultimately only upped the pressure to perform and did little to nurture inner calm. Like many of us, Jenn had heard about the benefits of meditation and wondered if it might work for her. But, like many of us, she was always “too busy” to give the practice a consistent chance. That changed in 2016, when a friend persuaded her to attend her first formal mindfulness class. The instructor—Chelsey Charbeneau—was knowledgeable, approachable and helpful. Something clicked. Jenn went back the next day, and the one after that. Within a few months, she was meditating daily and enrolling in workshops and training sessions. Within a year, she'd left the fashion industry behind and partnered with Chelsey to begin to realize the dream of Breathe. Jenn completed her 300-hour meditation teacher training in spring 2018.https://breathemeditationandwellness.comhttps://www.instagram.com/breathemeditationandwellness/
